@delilah7 it's OK, I totally get it. You over think every little thing... I still overthink not getting as much baby movements one day to the next, even after the MW explicitly told me I don't need to worry for another r8 weeks at least!! I think pregnancy definitely makes you feel more paranoid too and conscious of what other people think of you. Like I'm having all sorts of worries about what my friends are thinking etc, and I've not wanted to share too much pg related stuff with them in case they get annoyed with it and cut me out! But they would never do that.
I honestly feel like I'm going mad at the moment.
Genuinely though, ask the midwife at your next appt and let us know what she says. I have a long list of stuff for my next appt haha.

X

Delilah7 · 02/04/2019 06:20

@Crossfitgirl honestly I'm totally the same 😂😂 I will do. On the plus side for my fancy chair delivered for work which they've provided for me. Ridiculously comfy. Although think some of my work mates aren't too happy I've got a new chair.... x

mrsof20118 · 02/04/2019 06:51

@Delilah7 completely understand why you are worried. I panicked at my 20 week scan as babys head was measuring in 79th centile and always approximated at 418g or 15oz so was ahead again at that part. I'm only 5 ft 1 and panicking a bit i have to push out a 9lb baby. I think it's meant to be very inaccurate for babys size and measurements though after the 12 weeks?

@Crossfitgirl my tolerance levels for anything have really decreased since being pregnant. Must be hormones but I find myself saying things I usually wouldn't have the confidence to?! More so at work, maybe in my head I just think that it doesn't matter as going on mat leave soon enough? X

mrsof20118 · 02/04/2019 07:13

@LuckyKitty13 glad to hear its going well. That pump looks great and good reviews. I was contemplating ordering an electric one but think I'll try that one first and see how I get on before or if at all I splash out. X

RanchoRelaxo · 02/04/2019 07:16

@Crossfitgirl @MrsC87 I am also going to ask my midwife about the gd test tomorrow (appointment) my bump is big and I've read that is a sign? Also I am constantly tired and thirsty, plus weeing a lot, I know they are all pregnancy symptoms too I just want to be sure 😂 can they refer you for the test just because you have asked? Oh also my craving has been anything and everything chocolate so that hasn't helped 😂

@LuckyKitty13 thank you for the breastfeeding tips, having some first hand advice will definitely help!

MrsC87 · 02/04/2019 07:20

I've got my GD test at 28 weeks so Easter Week @RanchoRelaxo, I think because of my BMI I automatically get it. Drop your MW a message and ask if you get the test? xx

MrsC87 · 02/04/2019 07:21

Sorry just seen you've got an appointment @RanchoRelaxo 🤦‍♀️

Delilah7 · 02/04/2019 07:33

@mrsof20118 same as me I'm 5foot 3 and it scares me the thought of an 8lb plus baby! 😂

@MrsC87 do we all have GD tests?? Xx

MrsC87 · 02/04/2019 07:40

I think it's down to BMI at the booking in appointment @Delilah7 mine is in the overweight category 🙈 but I'd still ask for it as I've known very slim women to develop it in pregnancy.
I'm not looking forward to the test mind, it's not horrible just a long wait apparently xx

canonlyhopexo · 02/04/2019 08:55

When I went for my 20 week scan the sonographer didn't say anything about any measurements other than all is fine. I looked at the report afterwards and the stomach was right up high on the percentile scale. I started worrying but then I just thought actually, if there was something to worry about, they'd tell me. They wouldn't keep something like that to themselves as they'd need to monitor it. But it didn't stop me from worrying for a bit! I think it's perfectly natural for FTM to be a bit panicky and for us to take everything into consideration like our own weight body shape size etc but everyone also carries differently. Our baby is 13.3oz. I've not put on a single lb in weight. I'm very tummy heavy, my legs arms bum and boobs haven't really changed yet and I'm almost 22 weeks. We're all different!

@LuckyKitty13 congratulations and thank you for the tips. I'm not planning to breastfeed but I think I will get a pump to try and relieve the big bazoomas on day 3/4! What about cabbage leaves lol!?

Cookie0508 · 02/04/2019 09:17

I've automatically been given a gd test as well in May, probably due to bmi. Tho someone I know had gd who wasn't fat at all. Best to talk with your midwife about your symptoms I guess.

So my 21 week gp check showed I had a heart murmur, currently waiting on an echo appt. Apparently its really common yet I've never heard of it from anyone I've spoken to so far. Wondered why I was getting palpitations and when I spoke to the midwife about it she just ignored me.

Delilah7 · 02/04/2019 09:35

@MrsC87 I'll speak to midwife! xx

@canonlyhopexo they said at my 20 week he was all good too. Nothing was flagged high or low he was just average xxx

stormtrooperjulian · 02/04/2019 09:48

Could I get some maternity jeans / jeggings recommendations from other short ladies on the thread? I’m 5’1 and not sure which brands are worth a try. I’m down to one scruffy pair of jeans that still fit so I really need to buy more soon!

PeacockingAbout · 02/04/2019 10:28

Thank you for the welcome and the congratulations! Been super busy (and rather tired!) So been a bit absent from MN

@thumper59, fab news about the scan, that must have been lovely to see!

Thanks MrsC87! I'm good, some headaches and backache due to recently giant breasts but a spots bra over my regular bra and some yoga and core work is helping! Off my food but no nausea yet! The wall hanging is super cute! For feeding you need to do what works for you not some faceless judges person!

@EltzBee sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it. No point going into work when you can't function - rest and recover what you can.

@stormtrooperjulian I'm much to early for a bump (4+6!), but I've definitely changed shape already- I had no hips until Sunday when they appeared out of nowhere (even DH commented!), my waist is thicker and I seem to have put on weight in a line down my stomach! Looking forward to an actual bump as I'm definitely in who ate all the pies territory. I know what you mean with the changes being upsetting - I've never had a body to regret, but my breasts feel like the structure inside has changed and they feel really alien.

Hi @TrashKitten10! Lovely to see you!! Great news about the scan, hope you're well otherwise too.

@LuckyKitty13 congratulations that's fantastic news! What a fab birth experience too. Thanks for the BF advice, it sounds like you have it nailed

@Crossfitgirl sorry work are being rubbish - not what you need at all! Props for taking control of the situation! Draw boundaries - they sound like absolute pisstakers so not surprised you're out of patience!

@Delilah7 what a lovely mothers day treat! He's a handsome one Smile. I'm sure the sonographer would have mentioned if they were even a little bit concerned, definitely mention it to the midwife, but (bit rich me saying! But) try not to let the worry cloud it, you've got so much going on with the SPD etc it must just feel like something else which would add stress x

I'm already finding my bullshitometer has got even more sensitive - I keep finding I've hit 100 without realising! I'm also definitely accelerating my team's training - they don't know it yet but they're about to become a lot more responsible!

EltzBee · 02/04/2019 10:41

@canonlyhopexo from one of the things I was reading it says it's not recommended to express to try to get rid of discomfort if you're just ff as it will then stimulate more production...ask the midwifes though? We're ff from birth and I'm really hoping my boobs get back to 'normal' asap!

@stormtrooperjulian I'm taller but when I bought maternity jeans from New Look, they did have different leg length choices so might be worth a look?

@MrsC87 I get the GD test too due to bmi, I have to book mine in between 25week GP appt and 28week midwife appointment I think. The midwife did warn me to bring something to do because I won't be allowed to leave the Dr surgery for the 2hours between the first and second test.

I definitely echo what was said about everyones bodies being different; I've got a definite bump, but I haven't gained any weight (lost about 10lbs due to the constant sickness in Jan/Feb). I can only assume my body is moving things around lol.

My moodswings are really bad lately too - I have a much shorter fuse than usual and can't put up with BS!

@peacockingabout haha bullshitometer, love it! Think mines at about 100% too! What do you do for work? I wish my team were more responsible, I'm delegating like a pro at the mo.

@stormtrooperjulian I'm 5"2 and usually get clothes in a size 10. I have 2 pairs of MAMA super skinny jeans from H&M, I've found them to be the best. Length is just right, they are made from stretchy material unlike the other ones, and although they say they are "super skinny" they are not tight at all, they are a really comfortable fit, they hug you loosely if that makes sense. And only 24.99! I did have a pair of bigger sized stretchy jeans from asda which I exclusively wore until I got my maternity ones but they also no longer fit so I'd prob just go straight to maternity rather than sizing up. Leggings wise, I got a pair of big standard lettings from H&M which are too long and a bit loose, but I also have a different style like tights that fit really well, I can't Remmeber what they're called.

My absolute favourites though, is the gapfit leggings I got (the performance cotton ones) . I got some cropped ones for the gym, but they fit so well I got another pair and actually I plan to get some more in full length to wear as normal leggings. They are really good quality thick ish material that is not see through at all, they are super soft and comfortable 4 way stretch, and don't wrinkle anywhere and come over the bump nicely. I'll link you in another post. More pricey but so worth it in my opinion! x

Crossfitgirl · 02/04/2019 11:42

*bog standard leggings.
Not big standard lettings!!

mrsof20118 · 02/04/2019 11:47

@stormtrooperjulian next do some short length jeggings. I picked up some under the bump ones and just stick a long vest on under my tops to cover the bump area.

Also got the gap ones crossfitgirl mentioned for the gym. Really comfy and don't sag around the crotch area x

Cookie0508 · 02/04/2019 12:13

I've bought several different jeggings and so far the only ones that have stopped falling down were a pair from asda. H&M ones were lovely but still slide down for me but then my body is probably a different shape!

BostonFern · 02/04/2019 18:37

@PeacockingAbout my patience has dropped too-feel sorry for the kids I teach!
I'm struggling with bloating at the moment-work trousers are uncomfortable so I'm resorting to dresses and long tunics with leggings.

PeacockingAbout · 03/04/2019 08:14

@CrossfitGirl I work in Marketing.
I'm a rubbish delegator so need to get better, fast. You're in healthcare aren't you? So just a biiiiit more meaningful!

Haha @BostonFern - as a teacher your patience is already a multitude of mine, I could not do your job. I had no patience with school children's sass when I was one! Are you primary or secondary?

Noting the clothes recommendations, I am a while away from needing it. My shape has changed but I put on a stone since Jan comfort eating while TTC so can't blame the baby for that yet! I'm heavier now at 5 weeks than DM was at term with me Blush Still in my regular stuff and hoping reigning in comfort eating will balance out bloat!

5 weeks today. Goodness pregnancy seems longer when its you pregnant, forever to go still.

Delilah7 · 03/04/2019 14:06

Done what you ladies suggested and spoke to midwife. She told me to not be so silly 😂😂😂 he's not big. I'm not big. And I don't have any risks of GD. hahaha xx

EltzBee · 03/04/2019 14:23

@Delilah7 glad you spoke to midwife and hope your mind is at rest now!

So I've been on a client call this afternoon and Bean decided to have their first proper gymnastic session, was trying not to giggle! I've felt the odd movement and feeling before now, but this was much stronger and felt like proper kicks and quite a few of them! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
