Great @Delilah7 good news! 💕
Aww lovely @EltzBee, such a great feeling! It's so lovely seeing hubby/partner react too when they feel movement from outside 🥰

BostonFern · 03/04/2019 19:23

@PeacockingAbout I'm secondary, but only teach 14-16 year olds.
You are right, each week has seemed much longer since finding out I'm pregnant!
Glad the midwife reassured you @Delilah7!
How exciting to feel movements like that @EltzBee!

PeacockingAbout · 03/04/2019 19:56

@Delilah7 great news! Hope that's put your mind at rest a little - so much to stress over, hopefully that's one thing off the list!

@Eltzbee how lovely to feel movements! Typical its during a client call though!

@BostonFern props, you're a much more patient woman than me, don't think I could hack that. It's going so slowly, it seems forever ago that I got my BFP - It is less than a week. I need to chill out, or the next 34 weeks will be rather trying.

Did you guys further along find that the pace sped up?

Cookie0508 · 03/04/2019 20:49

Lovely @EltzBee! Mine has been going crazy today, so active. I'm really suffering tonight though. I feel like he's kicking my pelvic bone hard and it just feels horrible and painful, I feel so sick every time. Trying to get him to move about to find a different position :(

sunshine1987 · 03/04/2019 20:51

@PeacockingAbout the weeks have flown by for me since my 12 week scan, I’m now just under 23 weeks and I’ve no idea where the times gone x

ChaosMoon · 04/04/2019 07:38

All of your advice is going in a Google Doc. Thanks @LuckyKitty13! You've done so well to get past the initial hurdles and you're right, that initial work is essential. Fingers crossed I get it right too!

@Delilah7 my mum's your height and I was an 8lb + baby. Interestingly, she said my birth was better than my 6lb sister. As long as you're within a healthy range I don't think the numbers mean a lot by themselves.

I can't believe your midwife ignored your heart palpitations @Cookie0508! Even if it's not her area, you'd think she'd tell you to talk to your GP.

@PeacockingAbout time crawled until about 16 weeks. It then resumed a normal pace until about 30 something weeks, when it flew by until I started mat leave. Now it's going slower than ever!

My back has gotten so bad the past few days that I can barely move. Which is isolating and frustrating and more than a bit daunting when I think that I could have another 2 and a bit weeks of this. I know that doesn't sound long but it suddenly feels like an eternity.

Delilah7 · 04/04/2019 07:40

Thanks ladies. I'm trying to be more relaxed about it 😂 but over thinker over here haha. X

Cookie0508 · 04/04/2019 09:10

@ChaosMoon I've really not been impressed with this woman from the start. Sadly others I know have had really nice ones from the same team. It's not enough to ask for another one, she just has a really weird attitude, like this is just her job and she doesn't really care about you.

Luckily baby has calmed down this morning, but I do get a lot of pelvic pains at the moment. Sometimes its just uncomfortable to sit. I'm only 22 weeks, what am I gonna be like in the next few months??

@PeacockingAbout the first 12 weeks were pretty long for me, so much waiting! It has definitely picked up since then and can't believe I'm at 22 weeks now. I think it's improved based on the amount of appointments I've had. Now I've had several I'm not sat waiting for the next so much.

Delilah7 · 04/04/2019 09:16

@Cookie0508 keep an eye on yourself. If it locks or grinds it could be SPD or pelvic girdle. I have both and have crutches to use for later and I'm only 25 weeks with not a massive bump so I understand your worries xx

Cookie0508 · 04/04/2019 09:23

Ouch, thanks @Delilah7, friend of mine had the same and ended up on crutches. You'd think it's way too early yet, I could still get away with just being fat!

Delilah7 · 04/04/2019 09:27

@Cookie0508 I thought the same Hun but apparently not :( xxx

stormtrooperjulian · 04/04/2019 14:33

@PeacockingAbout I found that time sped up a lot after around 11 weeks when I started feeling more normal and my scan date was in sight. The first few weeks passed so slowly though.

I’m pretty sure I’ve felt movement a couple of times over the past few days. Is 15 weeks too early for that? It definitely felt like something gently nudged me a couple of times.
Got our combined results back, all low risk but I was expecting that after not getting a phone call about it. Apparently the midwife will listen to the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment on Monday so I can’t wait for that!

ChaosMoon · 04/04/2019 14:42

Great news about your combined test results @stormtrooperjulian! I was 15/16 weeks when I first felt movement. Funny that I can't remember the exact point now. It was such a milestone, I thought I'd never forget!

It's really bad how you can get such different service even from the same midwife team @Cookie0508. Do you always see the same person? My midwife team have all been great but I've never seen the same person twice!

Cookie0508 · 04/04/2019 15:24

@ChaosMoon sadly its always the same one, however last time she had a young nurse with her who had a much nicer bedside manner and more reassuring when I asked any questions. I think it's just her way, she might be fine for other people but for a sensitive, anxious new mum she's not my cup of tea.

@stormtrooperjulian yes that mightve been movement! Do ask though if they don't listen to the heartbeat as I heard some on here didn't get to do that. We certainly did with mine and it was lovely xx

EltzBee · 04/04/2019 15:59

Has anyone found a decent foot/leg rest for under their desk at work at all? I have a desk job and when I'm in the office my feet and legs are getting so achey and swelling up from it. Work have said they'll get me one if I show them what I need...

@stormtrooperjulian good news on the test result! That may well have been little one - I started feeling 'flutters' or 'taps' about 13weeks, just occassional but they weren't gas and weren't my own muscles (or lack thereof lol).

The midwife listened to the heartbeat at our 16 week appointment, it was so amazing - I'd go as far as saying hearing their heartbeat was even more amazing than seeing them in black and white on the ultrasound, something about hearing that noise which feels so 'real'!

@Cookie0508 ouch that sounds sore! I'm looking forward to when Bean has a routine of moving and kicking properly, but equally I'm sure when I'm trying to sleep and get a kick to the ribs, or as my Mum had when I apparently used to 'jump' on her sciatic nerve, I might miss the days when they were just wiggling away quietly without much notice! lol

Popped over to Mothercare again today and we both agreed within a couple minutes of which cot we really like. We did look at Ikea a few weeks ago but found the ones they had didn't seem very sturdy. We like one that converts to a cot bed so is good for about 4 years, and has a matching wardrobe that seems pretty sturdy as well (and looks nice!). Bought a little fox cuddly toy for Bean (I love foxes) and it's so sweet :)

Got my 20 weeks scan next Wednesday, eek!

Thanks @PeacockingAbout !

@stormtrooperjulian you must be so pleased to get the test results back!

I'm glad to hear the weeks seem to go quicker as you get into the second trimester. The tiredness and nausea seem to make each day feel like a week at the moment!

EltzBee · 05/04/2019 13:30

@BostonFern the first 3 months were the worst for me for exhaustion, it does get better though. I didn't get any magic 'feeling better' though when I entered the 2nd trimester (I'm 19 weeks and still dealing with nausea/sickness). Fingers crossed for you it doesn't last too long!
The time seems to go quicker after the 12 week scan, as you then have 16 week midwife appt, 20 week scan, and then other midwife and GP appointments after that, plus you start to 'feel and look' more pregnant in ways other people understand more. If that makes sense??

Work have ordered me a footrest (yay) which is coming some time next week, will be very helpful for my days in the office!

BostonFern · 05/04/2019 18:30

Thank you @EltzBee, that does make sense too.
I think it's also hard at this stage as I feel and look so rough, but people don't know why, so I can't really tell them that the small thing I'm trying to accomplish at that time is making me feel pants! Eating lunch is a trial at present, others at the staffroom have started to notice my extremely slow eating and reduced appetite- trying to blame it on bugs the kids are passing around. Just one more week in school to get through and then I can hide under a duvet for a while over the Easter break!

MrsC87 · 06/04/2019 11:25

Hey ladies, happy weekend 😊
Hope everyone is okay?
I've been on housework this morning! Can't stop myself looking through babies wardrobe. I want to buy a few more new things as have had a lot of hand me downs. What size is everyone going for? Up to 1 month? 0-3 months? xx

mrsof20118 · 06/04/2019 21:55

@mrsc87 I need to check what we have and in which sizes. Feel a spreadsheet coming on!
Anyone else suffering with heartburn? Never had it before I was pregnant.

ChaosMoon · 07/04/2019 03:36

@MrsC87 I've got a mixture. Couple of tiny baby things (gifts that will already be too small) a few new born and a few 0-3, that will hopefully cover the first day or two. When we know who's in there (girl or boy, how big, etc) we'll get more.

Touch wood, that's something I've avoided so far @mrsof20118!

Well it's technically my due date but I'm awake for no more exciting a reason than my brain not switching off. I really didn't want to spend the next two weeks clock watching but...

mrsof20118 · 07/04/2019 07:26

@ChaosMoon hoping baby makes an appearance soon for you. That's the part I'm dreading....counting down to the due date then having additional time added on. 9 months is long enough thank you! X

GemmaJen · 07/04/2019 07:29

@ChaosMoon how exciting, you'll meet your little one soon - how're you feeling?

We nearly started a new record yesterday - we were invited back for a second gender scan as the sonographer couldn't call it two weeks ago. Yesterday we returned and had no luck coercing baby to show us anything but crossed legs for the scan, we were instructed to walk to the shop and get some chocolate (such a chore 😄) a second attempt didn't improve the situation - baby now standing on their head with the cord and their feet blocking the view. We were deposited in the waiting room with the gym ball and instructed to bounce for 20 minutes. A last ditch attempt wasn't looking favorable and we were talking about returning in a few weeks, when baby finally decided they were done being shy - for all of 20 seconds before they popped their feet up and settled in for a snooze ( sugar crash!) - legs firmly crossed again! 😄 I fear nappy changes are going to be a challenge, lol. Apparently our sonographers have never had somebody back 3 times, so we were so close to the record, lol. We loved watching little one bouncing around, which was the main benefit of the extra scan, and she definitely got our money's worth for us! 😅 we're having a little girl 😊♥️

So excited, although I will say I always gravitate to the boys clothing section as I'm not a fan of pink. So we'll be searching for lots of lovely non pink girly clothes now - a quick glance in next and we couldn't see a thing. I'm glad we didn't wait till our 20 week scan, the NHS sonographer won't be able to call it if she continues to be a shy little thing.

PinkFizz19 · 07/04/2019 09:59

Hey ladies, can I join you please? 😊

I got my BFP Friday 29th March and confirmed it on a CB on the Saturday (1-2) weeks. I have another one which I think I'll use this week to hopefully see the weeks have increased.

I'm due 4th December according to my LMP, one app is giving me the 5th but i think that's based on a 28 day cycle and mine were 27 days. I've given a sample of FMU as requested by my doctor's surgery so just waiting to hear back from them with an appointment.

Currently 5+4 and feeling fine so far (touches wood) Had an awfully dry mouth since last Monday (like when you've had too many wines the night before 😣) bloating and cramps then boob feeling more tender this morning so things seem to be hyping up.

Looking forward to sharing this amazing journey with you all. I still can't believe it and feel so blessed 💛 just hoping for a happy and healthy pregnancy. Considering booking an early reassurance scan just to help with any worries and make it feel more real for us both.

Happy Sunday xxx

Crossfitgirl · 07/04/2019 10:43

Congratulations @pinkfizz19 and welcome to a whole new level of madness 😂 I have to tell you that December babies are the best (not because I was one or anything) hope you're feeling well, the tender boobs, cramping and thirst are all really normal so looking good!
Happy Sunday!

I'm off on a mum date today to meet another expectant mum through a mutual work friend, then we're off to a nearly new baby sale. Fingers crossed for some bargains! Xx
