Ah, @MrsC87 it's beautiful!

I've managed to avoid swollen feet so far, but for the last week I've started getting cramp at night. I woke up screaming this morning and DM, who is staying for a few days, thought I'd gone into labour. 😂🤦 Oops!

Telling people made a huge difference to DH too, @stormtrooperjulian. He said not telling people had meant he didn't feel he could be excited.

I was constantly bloated from quite early on, but I was about 20 weeks before it stopped disappearing over night and I couldn't suck it in any more. That's when I counted it as a real bump. ☺️

So pleased for you @thumper59. It's such a relief seeing that heartbeat!

EltzBee · 30/03/2019 09:20

@MrsC87 if I'm in the office and say at my desk or having to stand on the train, yep my ankles and feet definitely swell already! It's been lovely and warm here so I've been out the flip flops the past week and it's been lovely lol. I mentioned it to my midwife the other week but she didn't seem worried. My blood pressure was normal.

That is a beautiful hanging mobile love it! Was that someone you know? It's gorgeous.
We're moving furniture out of the nursery today, and the wall stickers I ordered should be arriving too. Thinking about it though we're going to wait to stick them till we have our cot and everything as we don't really know where we want everything yet.

@stormtrooperjulian definitely health has to come first 😊
Bump wise, I'm 18 weeks and it is a proper little bump now that it's there all the time. I noticed by body shape changing quite early and it sort of popped out a bit around 14 weeks ish (looked like bump not too many biscuits...), it seems to stay the same then have growth spurts! I think it depends on so much that everyone is different. One of my friend was tiny the whole way through pregnancy but then had a big baby so goodness knows where she was hiding! Lol

@thumper59 glad the scan went well! Won't be long now till the 12 week one.

Oh jeez that's sounds horrible @ChaosMoon, hope that doesn't start later on for me 🙈
Yes I think sitting at my desk is contributing @EltzBee so have been taking more breaks and raising them on the chair next to me every now and then.
I found a company on Instagram and messaged the lady, she said she'd custom make something and we got to that idea together. Very pleased with it.
We also haven't put cot in yet, just painted and wardrobe up. It's nice to actually have somewhere for babies clothes now as I just had huge piles everywhere! x

Hi everybody, is it okay if I join?

I was on the TTC threads for a few months and got my BFP a few weeks ago. I hadn't joined this thread as I felt I was so early and everybody seemed a lot further along :) Anyway, we went for an early scan today and we got to see a lovely strong heartbeat and baby looking great. I thought I was about 7+6 but they measured me at 8+3. It was so reassuring and I'm feeling a lot happier :)

BostonFern · 30/03/2019 15:39

Good to see you @TrashKitten10 and what great news about the scan!

LuckyKitty13 · 31/03/2019 08:16

@Crossfitgirl and everyone else - our beautiful baby daughter was born last Sunday early hours, after a 3.5 hour labour. 7lb 11oz. All natural, no drugs, born the birthing pool. It was super intense being so fast but an absolutely amazing experience. I felt and still feel like a superhero haha! She's feeding amazingly - sleeping not so much!!

Delilah7 · 31/03/2019 09:22

@LuckyKitty13 congratulations lovely!!' Glad it all went well. What's her name 😍

BostonFern · 31/03/2019 09:31

Congratulations @LuckyKitty13 - sounds like you did amazingly well during the labour!

GemmaJen · 31/03/2019 09:48

@LuckyKitty13 congratulations! Glad to hear it went well. What's new mum life like? And happy first mother's day 😊

MrsC87 · 31/03/2019 09:53

Congratulations @LuckyKitty13 so pleased for you! Happy First Mother's Day 💕💗

Crossfitgirl · 31/03/2019 10:30

Congratulations @luckykitty13 :-) and have a wonderful first mothers day 💕🌹💐

Crossfitgirl · 31/03/2019 10:49

Congratulations @peacockingabout @trashkitten10 and welcome :-)
@chaosmoon I hope your right about pressure on the breast rather than the nipple! That makes me feel a lot better about the idea lol.

Those of you struggling with back pain @canonlyhopexo @delilah7 etc are you doing any pelvic floor exercises? It can help with SPD x

@canonlyhopexo thanks for asking, I went back to work Thur /Fri and it was fine, I worked yesterday and ended up hanging up on a rude patient... Not like me but you know what... It felt so good! I'm not putting up with crap any more.
I've still not informed them of the reason for absence as nobody has asked... So I've rung occupational health for an appt (that was on weds) someone was going to ring me back and nobody did. Pretty crap tbh! I've had to actually send my own manager an appointment on outlook to insist we do my return to work form and mother's risk assessment next week to make sure it's done. It's ridiculous! Ah well. I'm gonna of off at the start of July ish, so only 3 ish months left!

@thumper59 so glad the scan went well and how exciting to tell family! @stormtrooperjulian how did they react? It does make it so much more real doesn't it. My proper bump came about 13 weeks I reckon

@mrsc87 that hanging is lovely! Looking forward to seeing the nursery when you've done it - ours is ages away from being ready, it's full of junk for the loft! Lol x

sunshine1987 · 31/03/2019 12:00

Congratulations @LuckyKitty13 on the safe arrival of your little one xx

stormtrooperjulian · 31/03/2019 13:06

Congratulations @LuckyKitty13 and happy first mother’s day!

@Crossfitgirl everyone was really pleased for us which was lovely. My FIL was actually much more enthusiastic than I expected, it’s grandchild no.6 for him so I thought he might have lost interest in the whole concept.

I was out hiking with a friend yesterday wearing a thin T-shirt and I was finding it very strange that I could see my belly sticking out when I looked down. I’m finding my body changing more upsetting than I expected, I’ve always been petite with a flat stomach etc. and I’m slightly struggling with losing my nice figure. I know that’s silly though, I know that my body has to change for the baby and it’s a good thing. I just have to learn to accept it.

Crossfitgirl · 31/03/2019 13:53

@stormtrooperjulian I'm the same, ours is my parents 6th grandchild (thanks brother for having 5 kids) but they were still over the moon.
I know what you mean about your body changing. I got really lean for our wedding and had just got used to not having such a pot belly. Then getting comments about being "big" for how far on I am really got to me. I found getting some really nice maternity clothes that accentuate my bump made me feel much better, and I've just had to learn to think differently - my big bump means baby is thriving. My big boobs mean I can feed the baby. My stretch marks mean my baby is growing well, and that makes me happy!
Yes, I feel like a fat cow a lot of the time too, but if I let myself get down about it I know I won't enjoy the pregnancy, and I definitely don't want a miserable pregnancy over something that is natural and I can't change. We'll only get bigger!

On the plus side... We get to shop for new clothes, and after birth we can get new stuff too, we can still look nice. I've already started looking for baby friendly free exercise ideas, so that I will feel good from the inside out when she comes.

Totally get how you feel though xxx

Delilah7 · 31/03/2019 15:21

LuckyKitty13 · 31/03/2019 18:41

@GemmaJen it's amazing - I wasn't prepared for exactly how relentless it would be, I literally never get a break. And I wasn't prepared for the hormone crash on day 4 when my milk came in - breasts like boulders right up to my chin practically, so so so sore and nothing would ease them! And felt like I was doing everything wrong/crying all the time. Everyone told me that is was normal for day 4 and would get better every day - now on day 7 my milk has settled, and I'm feeling great again. It has been rather surreal, but absolutely wonderful- the rush of love was instant and she is just my entire world

Crossfitgirl · 31/03/2019 20:05

Aww @luckykitty13 it sounds like you are doing an amazing job. I remember a friend telling me about the hormone crash thing and that she was in floods of tears on the day the health visitor came for the first time! It sounds perfectly normal.
Enjoy every moment :-)

TrashKitten10 · 31/03/2019 20:14

@LuckyKitty13 Congratulations on your baby girl and making it through the first week of motherhood ☺️

@Delilah7 What a great scan picture! a lovely way to spend Mother's Day :)

Delilah7 · 31/03/2019 20:15

@TrashKitten10 thank you!! 😘

MrsC87 · 01/04/2019 07:53

Beautiful @Delilah7 what a lovely gift!! 💙

ChaosMoon · 01/04/2019 08:08

That's wonderful news @LuckyKitty13, congratulations! I keep hearing about the day 3/4 nightmare when your milk comes in. Not sure how much you can prepare for your hormones crashing like that though. I'm so glad you're feeling better now. Sounds like you're doing a great job for your little girl.

Ah, @Delilah7 what a lovely Mother's Day for you! He's gorgeous.

@stormtrooperjulian the body changing can be hard to get your head around. I had abs. I'll never see them again... Every week or so I find I have to reassess my wardrobe to work out what outfits still work and what I have to wear differently to look good/ok. I'm trying to follow @Crossfitgirl's way of thinking though and I've put aside a fund for postnatal clothes shopping. A lot of the women in my antenatal group have said they'll wait to get their figured back, but I'm not going to feel like shit while my maternity stuff gets more shapeless and I can't squeeze into my old stuff.

Congrats on the BRP @TrashKitten10

Delilah7 · 01/04/2019 09:52

@MrsC87 thank you!! 😍💙

@ChaosMoon thank you, I'm biased but I think som😂😂 he weighs 1lb 13oz at the moment. Seems a lot to me for 25 weeks and a few days! he's also breach atm lol. Xx

EltzBee · 01/04/2019 11:29

@LuckyKitty13 congratulations!

@Delilah7 aww lovely treat for Mothers Day! Wow nearly 2lb at 25 weeks? They sure do start to get big quick don't they!

OP posts:
Delilah7 · 01/04/2019 11:31

@EltzBee I know. Scared he's gonna be massive but at 26 weeks they should be 2lb ( average measurements ) so he's got 3 days to get there lol. Xx
