Also when did everyone else start to show? I'm only 8+3 today so still very early and I know mine is bloat, but I can't believe just how big it's making me look! I wore a tight dress for work today and thought best to keep my coat on so nobody asked questions or alternatively asked me how much I've ate as of recent 😂😂 I'm a size 8-10 and usually have a flatter tummy and I'm bigger on my bum and thighs but I can't stop stroking my bloat anyway 😂 I personally think my belly is starting to look different at the bottom but I could just be imagining it!

Crossfitgirl · 28/03/2019 19:24

@thumper59 I'm sure I got my maternity jeans around 9 weeks ish. I was massively bloated too, and from probably 7 or 8 weeks my pants were uncomfortable and I couldn't fasten them without it being v v uncomfy.
I'm still not sure when it turns into a proper "bump" - my tummy was always the biggest part of me (I'm a size 8-10, slim arms and legs, tiny boobs but always had a pot belly, same as my mum and sister, lovely genes).
I feel like I just look like I normally do, but a lot bigger tummy!! It's started to go a bit hard now though at the bottom. But still squishy at the top and I can still suck it in loads!

PeacockingAbout · 28/03/2019 19:40

Hiya! Mind if I shuffle in over here from the TTC #1 thread? Got my BFP this morning, 4 weeks according to my dates, due 4th Dec. Very much still getting used to the idea that this has actually worked and I'm pregnant!

thumper59 · 28/03/2019 19:47

@Crossfitgirl oh good to hear you was about the same time Aswell, I could do with some bigger pants everything is just so uncomfortable on my tummy and I'm bloated from waking up in the morning to going to bed!

sunshine1987 · 28/03/2019 21:41

@PeacockingAbout congratulations! xx

ChaosMoon · 29/03/2019 05:30

I am indeed @EltzBee - 38 and 5 now!

Yeah, milking yourself really is the strangest thing @Crossfitgirl! I don't think I'll be too bothered breastfeeding in front of people, but there's no way I'm hand expressing in front of anyone. Even DM while she's down this week.

From what I've learnt, if the latch is right, the baby should be sticking your breast rather than the pressure being in your nipple. So maybe it won't be as intense? Of course, that does rely on getting the latch right, which is not automatic.

@thumper59 you sound like me. I'm an obsessive foodie and the first trimester (and a bit) was so depressing being off my food. And for the last few months, I've been eating but have no energy to cook - or my back is too sore. It's the one thing that's really gotten me down this pregnancy.

Congrats on the bfp @PeacockingAbout!

thumper59 · 29/03/2019 09:10

Today's going to drag. Had a real little bit of brown last night when wiping. It was like beigey colored when I wiped- not much but commence panicking! Then it went away then this morning had a slight bit again. Don't think it can even class as brown but still made me worry. Scans at 7:30 tonight so I really hope everything is okay 😫

canonlyhopexo · 29/03/2019 09:53

Morning girlies. Sorry I've been a bit quiet last couple of days - been a bit up and down! I've had such awful pain yesterday and today. I called in sick today because I just can't cope with sitting down all day feeling so uncomfortable. I've had sharp stabs and period like cramps right down low and severe backache. I feel bad phoning in sick but mentally I'm struggling with feeling so rough as well.

@Delilah7 bless you with your crutches and hopping lol! I went to the midwife yesterday who has said I'll need a referral to physio as I've got such a bad back pain and in my hip. I'm only 21 weeks so I'm a bit worried about how bad it will get. Your colleagues sound a bit inconsiderate! Don't over do it for the sake of milk lol x

@EltzBee thank you scan was absolute fine. Baby's head is right down low which might explain some of my discomfort already. Had their face buried into me so had to go for a walk to try and move them so sonographer could see for cleft lip. Got a quick glimpse. All fine. It's funny getting it out there for people to know! How's your sickness now? I'm 21 weeks today and still have bad sick days and almost constant nausea. Also can relate to the hot flushes! All hormonal apparently.

@ChaosMoon I'd also love a water birth! I think I'd cope much better.

@Crossfitgirl how's the work situation going? How long until your maternity leave? Was the spa night relaxing!? It is amazing seeing your body change knowing it's accommodating our little ones. I've been really lucky so far not to have any marks or anything but I've been using a lot of oils and moisturiser in the hope they stay away but it's all genetics anyway I think. Meal planning is a life saver. I done it before anyway but now it's one less thing to think about when motivation is low.

@MrsC87 I'm also not keen on the idea of breastfeeding. We're buying a couple of bits with the intention of bottle feeding. I agree with @EltzBee re mental health side of things - it's one less pressure to worry about. I'm happy to try for first couple of days for baby to get some colostrum but I'm not EBF. Partner would like to be involved in feeding too.

@BostonFern welcome and congratulations! My dates changed by almost a week. I've no idea when I actually conceived. We were at it like rabbits lol! I think I ovulated way earlier than I thought.

@thumper59 welcome and congratulations! I started showing at about 9 weeks. I'm very round on my tummy now at 21 weeks but have not gained even 1lb in weight yet. I'm literally all bump. Brown is really common - it's old blood so you'll be absolutely fine and will be amazed at your scan. I've cried at both of mine. Good luck 💛

ChaosMoon · 29/03/2019 11:05

@thumper59 I had brown blood all through my first trimester. I know how worrying it is but unless it goes red, they'll probably tell you not to worry. It's good you have your scan later to put your mind at rest. Good luck.

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time @canonlyhopexo. If it's any consolation, by back was awful at about 23 weeks and I was really worried how bad it would get too. I increased my yoga and started swimming each week and it's made a huge difference. It's been getting worse again since about 35 weeks, but mentally I can handle that! I hope the physio can help you.

Delilah7 · 29/03/2019 11:07

@canonlyhopexo I so get the sharp pains too. Sorry you're going through it :( be kind to yourself. Xxx

EltzBee · 29/03/2019 11:07

@canonlyhopexo hope the pain improves, that can't be nice at all. Look after yourself.

I've stayed away from work again today but thankfully I've kept breakfast down and not been sick, and the headache is dull and in background rather then all consuming like it had been. I realised that the sickness coming back had got me emotionally and mentally really down which was stressing and exhausting me even more so I'm trying to just chill and focus on me and Bean. Nothing at work can't wait and trying to pick things up whilst not 100% is just going to make me feel worse again!

@thumper59 good luck tonight; do try not to stress, if you notice it gets red or heavy then call your midwife or GP. The NHS do say some light spotting can be normal for some women and that brown is usually old blood that hadn't made it out.

My normal jeans were getting uncomfortable by 9 weeks, and I bought maternity jeans at 12 weeks. Early on it was a lot of bloating and slow digestive system that made my tummy feel so right in jeans! I wore leggings and shift dresses quite a bit in January!

18 weeks now and I've not gained any weight (actually lost about 10lbs in first trimester due to the sickness). But my shape has changed - I have a bump and my boobs have grown around and cup size too). I assume my body has rearranged things!

Congratulations @PeacockingAbout.

canonlyhopexo · 29/03/2019 12:23

@ChaosMoon thank you. It's so sore isn't it. I think I will try swimming to see if that helps at all. Hopefully the water will take the weight off. Sonographer said baby was very low down and then yesterday the midwife said it was pelvic gurdle pain. I just feel terrible for phoning in sick with essentially back ache and cramps at only 21 weeks when chances are it is going to get worse.

@Delilah7 thank you. I'm trying to stay relaxed and calm but I'm struggling mentally as it's just been one thing after the other and I feel like a good day is really rare.

@EltzBee only 19 weeks left. Yay. I've not gained any weight either but like you I lost a fair bit at the start with hyperemisis. Silver lining I guess!

Delilah7 · 29/03/2019 12:42

@canonlyhopexo trust me I completely get it. Hyperemesis then SPD I've felt like it's one thing after another too. 😩 xx

canonlyhopexo · 29/03/2019 12:45

@Delilah7 are we twins haha!? It's draining isn't it. I was crying to my DP saying life literally changed overnight and I already don't feel like myself at all I feel really bland! I have got a bit better emotionally since we've bought a couple of bits. He's going to collect our Moses basket tomorrow so that's exciting and I know I'll be so happy when baby is here but just growing him or her is tough work! How do you find work with ailments lol. I feel like they think I'm such a drama queen. Sorry you're feeling so rubbishy too. Xx

Delilah7 · 29/03/2019 12:47

@canonlyhopexo my OH really didn't know how to deal with everything first trimester but he's so much better now. I literally felt like I was gonna breeze pregnancy and have this glow. I really haven't and really don't like it half the time, just love knowing he's ok and feeling him! I won't be having another. Work think I'm a drama queen but I don't really care now I'm further along. They think I can't have all these problems as I'm still quite petite bump wise but I'm not used to a lot of weight on my tummy so it's obviously straining me already! Xx

canonlyhopexo · 29/03/2019 12:52

@Delilah7 i totally underestimated pregnancy and definitely the impact it would have on my partner as well. I like you thought omg I'm going to look fab feel amazing breeze through it and be so happy and positive and loving life and I've moaned 94% of the time but I am so grateful and lucky and our baby was very very much wanted so I'm just trying to stay motivated! I've got a weeny little frame and quite a big bump already so maybe that's why I'm feeling aches and pains so badly already. How many weeks are you again sorry? Xx

Delilah7 · 29/03/2019 13:04

@canonlyhopexo so did I, I tend to get more worse illnesses than a normal cold or cough so I should of known pregnancy would be the same 😂😂. I miscarried in the August before I fell in October so my little man's very much wanted but it's just ridiculously harder than anticipated. Awww bless you :( I'm 25 weeks today. Due 12th July, a few days after my birthday! how about you? Xx

canonlyhopexo · 29/03/2019 16:44

@Delilah7 I used to be the exact same until I had the flu jab! Oh no sorry to hear that happened to you - it won't be long Mr Mini Delilah7 will be here 💙 I'm 21 weeks today. Share my due date with @Crossfitgirl! Xx

Delilah7 · 29/03/2019 16:53

@canonlyhopexo I'm extremely excited. How lovely!! Xx

BostonFern · 29/03/2019 17:52

👋🏻 @PeacockingAbout congratulations 🎉

@thumper59 I hope everything goes ok for you this evening.

thumper59 · 30/03/2019 07:19

Thankyou for all the messages of support yesterday ladies 💕

Scan went fab. Little heartbeat came up straight away! Everything is as it should be and where it should be and baby is measuring about 8+5 as i had it down too she said maybe slightly earlier which would make sense as I think i ovulated a little later that cycle. I can't believe the relief of just seeing that little heart beat 💕 we told parents and siblings last night and it was just amazing everyone is so so pleased I'm on cloud 9 this morning xx

MrsC87 · 30/03/2019 07:42

Congratulations @PeacockingAbout fab news! How are you feeling?
Also great news @thumper59 💗 won't be long and you're 12 week scan will be here.

So to everyone on the breastfeeding replies, Thankyou for your reassurance. I'm going to give it a good go but not put too much pressure on myself when the time comes. I think the more relaxed I can be the better.

So anyone suffering with swollen feet? By the end of the day my feet are double the size. I've checked my blood pressure and all ok. Have the midwife on Monday so will ask her but I think it's just a pregnancy symptom 🙄

How's everyone doing?
Nursery is all painted now and the theme is coming along. Had this wall hanging custom made for above the cot, I love it 😍

@EltzBee I hope you’re feeling better now. No point going back to work before you feel totally ok, you wouldn’t be performing at your best anyway and you need to put your health first

@thumper59 so glad your scan went well, must have been such a relief seeing the heartbeat

@MrsC87 I’m pretty sure swollen feet is standard. When I went to my booking appointment the student midwife actually commented that I should make the most of wearing nice boots etc cos they wouldn’t be fitting in a few months. I’m expecting to spend most of the summer in flip flops. That wall hanging is lovely!

DH and I told various family members yesterday after only my parents knowing for weeks. DH commented that it makes it seem more real. Everyone seems very happy for us which is lovely.
I noticed last night that my belly actually looks like a mini bump now rather than just ‘eaten too much cake’. I’m almost 15 weeks now - when did everyone else start noticing a little bump?

thumper59 · 30/03/2019 08:01

@MrsC87 @stormtrooperjulian Thankyou both, yeah seeing the heartbeat was amazing! Made all my worry just vanish instantly!

BostonFern · 30/03/2019 08:09

@thumper59 so pleased to hear your scan went well!
