Anyone interested in hypnobirthing the positive birth company’s digital pack is £12 today digitalpack.thepositivebirthcompany.co.uk/p/the-positive-birth-company-digital-pack/?product_id=517994&coupon_code=BIRTHDAY

ChaosMoon · 19/03/2019 09:07

Beautiful picture @stormtrooperjulian. Fingers crossed for your results. Did they say how long the wait would be?

Really glad yours went well too @mrsof20118. Despite what our intuition tells us, big babies don't automatically mean a harder labour. And the measurement now don't always match the size of the baby at birth. It's not an exact science?

@SullyWifey I thought it was just ribs. The baby does sometimes put it's foot there little sod but I'd have thought you were a bit early for that. Question for the midwife perhaps?

That's really frustrating about your scan @EltzBee, particularly with your DP working away. I hope he can still be there.

DH has been brilliant @canonlyhopexo. In fact he took a lead on the car seat, pram and even a lot of stuff for the hospital bag. It's so nice not having to carry all that mental load. Is yours helping?

EltzBee · 19/03/2019 09:52

@ChaosMoon yeah he's moving things around, I'm trying to re-arrange client meetings too. D'oh!

Still puking this morning (16+4). Really fed up of feeling so crap now! Got calls to dial in to this morning - vomiting isn't really conducive to to trying to use public transport to get to the office :(

I've booked myself a massage with a lady that does pregnancy massage for Thursday evening. I've had a lot of pain from my left shoulder-blade for a few days that is making my neck, left shoulder and left arm really painful. Wondering if it's because I've been trying to sleep on that side as much as I can which isn't my natural sleeping position?

Oh thanks @sunshine1987 is there a code to put in? Can only seem to get it for £35 x

Also think I pm'd you xx

ChaosMoon · 19/03/2019 10:00

Ugh, that really sucks @EltzBee. Being sick is just so horrible. The massage sounds like a really good idea though, and you're probably right that is caused by lying on your side. I really want to book one in. I just seem incapable of making any decision, including where to go to get a massage. 🤦

sunshine1987 · 19/03/2019 10:01

@sullywifey nope, it should just come up at £12 on that link? That’s all it’s doing for me, might be worth trying to refresh or something? xx

EltzBee · 19/03/2019 10:05

@ChaosMoon the pain was so bad yesterday it forced me to make a decision and contact someone lol. We have a local community FB group which people often ask for recommendations on and she was one that came up recommended quite a bit so thought I'd give it a go! The lady I usually see doesn't specifically do pregnancy massage, and I wanted to make sure who I saw was trained/aware of any different needs!

@sullywifey mine just comes up; try opening the link in Incognito mode or doing a hard refresh, in case you have anything cached.

sunshine1987 · 19/03/2019 10:06

@sullywifey I lied, try birthday, someone else suggested that in another group xx

ChaosMoon · 19/03/2019 10:18

The evidence that I have to get back on Facebook is growing @EltzBee. I just can't quite bring myself to do it yet... ☺️

SullyWifey · 19/03/2019 10:22

Thanks @sunshine1987 and @EltzBee it worked in incognito mode and I got it! What a bargain! Been meaning to get this for ages so glad I waited!

@ChaosMoon yes defo one for the midwife tomorrow, it's how I imagine a foot to feel but baby is way to low and small to be up there!

@stormtrooperjulian amazing picture!!! So beautiful! Xxx

EltzBee · 19/03/2019 11:03

@ChaosMoon oh I know what you mean about FB, I tend to treat it more as a 'tool' that can be useful, but try to avoid using it too much as it tends to get on my nerves after a while! lol.

@SullyWifey glad it worked! Think I will have to speak to DH about it later and see if he fancies giving it a go for £12 :)

@EltzBee updated due date is September 23rd

@sunshine1987 thanks for sharing that, I’ve just bought it. Thought I may as well while there was a good deal!

@ChaosMoon they said they’d call within a week if it was high risk, otherwise it would be up to 3 weeks wait for a letter! I’m panicking much more now than I was before the scan - the NT measurement was on the higher end of normal so I obviously imagined the worst. Trying to keep myself calm.

EltzBee · 19/03/2019 12:04

@stormtrooperjulian try not to panic - remember it's all about them calculating a 'risk', so even high risk such as 1/40 means that 39/40 probably wouldn't have a problem. It's a combined test too - so being within the higher end of normal in itself is fine (it's a range after all!) and they're talking about fractions of mm which aren't easy to measure. They take into account the result of your blood tests, age and things as well to give you an overall risk.

Also bought the download link, for £12 it seemed rude not to - the workshops in person are like £300 :o

Thanks @EltzBee Smile I know I’m being silly, I tend to jump straight to the worst case scenario and it takes a while to talk myself down. Im aware of that aspect of my personality though so I can see that I’m being irrational while doing it if you see what I mean. DH didnt understand why I seemed upset last night when before the scan I was totally calm.

EltzBee · 19/03/2019 16:49

@stormtrooperjulian no worries, and you're not being silly at all - it's totally natural to worry - just try not to let it be all consuming. I'm a total worrier - it's why I've chickened out again of 'announcing' that we're pregnant even though we're over 16 weeks and my bump is showing!

Us ladies are all here for each other when our DHs think we've gone a bit mad (its happened to us all I'm sure). If you'd been nervous about the scan for so long I'm guessing you got yourself into a point where you could cope with that and so were calm, but now you've seen bubba and now have this extra wait it brings it all back to the forefront!

But you're not being irrational or silly - you're just being a worried mum-to-be, wanting to know that the little bubba inside you is okay. And that's normal :)

OP posts:
canonlyhopexo · 19/03/2019 18:37

@ChaosMoon oh brilliant that's so good he's being hands on. My DP hasn't been quite as forthcoming! But to be fair neither of us have really started looking at anything. I've done a bit of research into bits and he's now starting to sit with me and we have a look on the iPad together. We didn't/don't want to do too much before 20week scan but as soon as that's done and we're definitely looking at a happy healthy baby we will get cracking properly. It's our first baby and I don't think men generally are as clued up on just how much stuff bubbas require!

canonlyhopexo · 19/03/2019 18:38

@stormtrooperjulian glad your scan went well. I'm very similar to you. You're not being silly at all 🥰

Crossfitgirl · 19/03/2019 20:31

Hey ladies. Trying to cut back a bit on social media, I have taken fb off my phone for a bit.

I've been very stressed at work and almost had a panic attack last week and had to leave a meeting halfway through as was feeling so panicked and overwhelmed with my stupidly unmanageable workload.
Have a huge list of stuff to sort with the house, all the baby stuff to sort, haven't been sleeping well.
I then kept worrying loads that I'd hardly felt the baby at all for a couple of days compared to the past 2 weeks of feeling her regularly, and worried that my work stress had somehow affected the baby...

went to work in tears yesterday having not felt her all morning, despite what the MW said about baby being too small to have a pattern yet and being able to move to where you can't feel it. Just feel so anxious and everything is getting to me!

I've actually told my manager today I want to end my secondment (a management post I've been doing for over a year now that's kept getting extended and extended due to low staffing) and said I'm only doing it until the next agreed date which is end of April, then I won't agree to any further extensions. Back to my normal, less responsibility job. And I was firm about that being that.

Looking after number one right now is all that's important to me and no job or amount of extra money will make me put my daughters health at stake!

Crossfitgirl · 19/03/2019 20:40

@stormtrooperjulian congrats on the lovely scan pic, glad all is well 😊 as others have said, try not to worry, the wait is out of your control, and chances are everything will be fine. Its a risk, not a certainty even if it did come back as high, and there's other options to find out for sure if you need to.

@eltzbee sorry you're still vomming, hopefully you'll be OK at your massage! At least that's something to look forward to. I am struggling with side sleeping (scared to sleep on my back now at nearly 20 weeks despite feeling fine when I lay flat) as I'm getting sore ears from laying on one side all the time! Lol! I honestly looked up those pillows with ear holes in!!

@sunshine1987 thanks for the link think ill look at getting it too! We will all be hypnobirthing away come late summer!

@sullywifey no idea re the boob. Sorry!

sunshine1987 · 19/03/2019 20:44

@crossfitgirl hope you’re ok, do what’s best for you and your girl. Try not to worry about movement just now either, I have quiet days too, it’s normal right now. Look after yourself xx
