Reduced movements. Been for scan no feral movements felt or seen

Hi I'm 36w1 been out or hospital since Sunday after having sepsis! Reduced movements started on Tuesday but been in for monitoring and heart rate etc fine. Been for scan again could see heart beating but no movement seen or felt by sonographer. Babies heart beat keeps spiking and midwife saying that's her moving but I'm not feeling the movements. I feel like they are just fobbing me off. I feel like there is something wrong and no one is listening to me

Advice would be great please 😌

Ask to speak to the consultant on duty? When I tested positive for preeclampsia at 39+3, the midwife with me passed me on to the consultant on duty and he admitted me straight away.

I know from having monitoring that they want to see a pattern of movement on the graph.
I would insist that they explain what it means and keep telling them you can't feel anything. As others have said, trust your instincts.

Agree with pp: make sure you're seen. Today. This is no time to be polite. You can't feel movements; it's YOU that they should listen to.
Please push this and see a consultant.

I know it can be hard but don't give in unless you're happy with what's being said! Make sure you have felt regular pattern of movements and you are happy. Ask to see consultant x

Honestly if it was me I would be insisting on a C section today or kept in for monitoring and one carried out tomorrow. Do not leave without seeing a consultant and make sure it is a consultant not a junior doctor.

The baby's hr trace is good so the midwife is right about that. Good variability and accelerations. Accelerations can be associated with movement however they don't mean that the baby is moving.

I'm assuming you've seen a dr if you were also referred for a scan. What's their plan? Did the scan show normal Doppler flow?

Is this the 1st episode of reduced movement

I came in last night with reduced movement so automatically sent for a scan today. Scan looked fine apart from no fetal movement felt or seen. I'm just so anxious something is wrong and they keep telling me it's not and on the screens I can see what they are saying it looks fine but something just doesn't feel fine I've had reduced movements about 4 times throughout the pregnancy and it was put down to my placenta being at the front but since being so ill with sepsis I just feel like something isn't right

Please kick up a fuss. Your baby needs to be moving. Please ask to see a doctor and don't be happy until you have. It's really important that there's movement, a friend of mine had none and baby was stillborn after 2 days of heartbeat but no movements.

Go back in as today is classed as another period of reduced movement despite the scan. Keep going in, only you know what seems right with your baby.

Usually after you've had around 3 episodes of reduced movements, a plan is made to induce.
37 weeks + would obviously be ideal - when was the last time you felt normal movements?

I’m surprised they said that to you. I’m 39+5 and went in about a month a go with reduced fetal movements.

They did the monitoring or whatever and baby did move while I was there but I was suprised that after the half hour they said what mattered was whether I was happy with movements as I only knew what’s normal. I was a bit unsatisfied with that as I needed some reassurance really but it sounds like they were the opposite with you.

If you’re worried something is not right then push it. It may be nothing. You may just be worrying because of the sepsis but at the very least you need reassurance and they shouldn’t be fobbing you off if the baby isn’t moving.

I was induced after 2 lots of monitoring for reduced movement. They took it very seriously and I'm glad they did- the alternative doesn't bear thinking of. Keep going back and don't leave x

I've known too many people have the worst possible outcome where they didn't feel like they were listened to or treated seriously enough. Please please go back and demand to be seen and don't leave until you're satisfied.

Please kick up a fuss or press them to explain. I had monitoring today before and after a (failed) ECV. In the the post procedure monitoring baby went to sleep ( we’d been at hospital for several hours) and they couldn’t let me go to until the graph showed a spike to demonstrate movement - they had me rolling on my side to wake him up and then had an extra 15 mins monitoring.

Be brave, you are the only voice your baby has right now. If you don’t feel it’s right then don’t leave the hospital until they’ve explained what’s going on.

I was induced after numerous reduced movement episodes. Every scan I had DD was moving not just still. Also movements were picked up on monitoring. I couldn’t always feel them due to an anterior placenta too. But they never just fobbed me off.

Don’t go home feeling worried. Get seen.

They should be making a plan to induce you at 37/40 if this is episode 4.

I'd also push for daily ctg until then.

Spoke to consultant and she has reassured me that everything looks ok and we have agreed on monitoring every 2 days so back in again on Sunday. And she will phone my consultant about bringing my elective section forward from the 4th of March to the 28th of February 😢 I'm beyond stressed out and feel like I'm going mental!

I'm going to bring my mum with me on Sunday instead as she's a bit pushier about things as my sister had a stillborn at 37w so I think everyone in the family is super anxious about all of this

Are movements back to normal now then? Get your mum to take you back in tonight if you're still not happy. A lot can happen in two days.
