We got the limit ladies! Thought I'd start a second thread.

I've gone back a few pages but apologies to everyone I've missed! How is everyone doing?

@Springmummy19, I'm so sorry you feel like that. I really hope the iron tablets work though. Low iron levels mean low energy and that makes everything worse. With any luck you'll feel much better about it all once you've started taking them.

Maybe it's worth looking up some positive hospital birth stories. It's not your first choice but I'm sure there are still things you can do to take control and make it a positive experience.

How long have you got now? (Sorry, I can't remember your due date.)

@chaosMoon thank you hun. I think I'm just having a mini pity party for myself today lol. That would probably explain why I am always tired although I just thought that was normal during pregnancy. I guess I'm fortunate that they are keeping an eye on me and picking up on all of this so I can do things to control it but its annoying. I've gone from just taking folic acid to now taking that, metformin and the iron tablets as well as the anti-sickness capsules. I just have to be positive and remind myself its all to ensure bubba is well and doesn't destroy my insides when he/she arrives lol

My due date is 21st April but I have been told I will be induced so baby might come early April

Unicorn234 · 05/02/2019 18:40

Thanks for adding me 😁 feeling really uncomfortable lately. 30 weeks today!
Struggling with work, I look after kids so constantly on the go lol. 5 weeks left before maternity and it feels like forever lol

Springmummy19 · 06/02/2019 10:39

@Unicorn234 Aww bless you , hopefully the next 5 weeks fly by. Work for me is very quiet at the moment so I spend most of my time trying to look busy Grin

Anyat212 · 06/02/2019 10:47

Thanks for the add I was thinking about this thread the other day funnily enough!

I’m struggling with work too and have 5 weeks left, I’m counting the days down. I think I’ve started having Braxton Hicks has anybody else? This morning they were quite painful but didn’t last long & I'm fine at work now Confused

I’m 30 + 4 today

Springmummy19 · 06/02/2019 11:09

Hey @Anyat212 Ive had them in the past week or so, I'm 29+3 today but I haven't found them painful just a bit odd. I also find it weird how movement has become so normal now. I used to sit and wait for ages hoping baby will kick and now its like 24/7 movement and most of the time I still find myself amazed when I see my belly wobbling slowly. Even hubby looked at me last night and said 'why are you staring like that, why does it still shock you' I guess he doesn't understand as its not happening inside him lol

jojoburr17 · 06/02/2019 12:56

Hi all! Just joining the group but have been reading through the threads every so often. I’m 29+1, due 23rd April. How is everyone doing?

Springmummy19 · 06/02/2019 15:15

Hi @jojoburr17, I'm due 2 days before you although I think this one will come early

I'm good, trying to look busy at work. how are you keeping?

Anyat212 · 06/02/2019 15:38

Hi Spring,

Is this your first baby? It’s my first so I’m not 100% sure what’s normal although I was having abit of a panic this morning! Haha I know what you mean about the movements, it took me a while to get used to them. I’ll be honest at first I wasn’t sure about it and used to twitch although I’ve got used to it, still not overly keen when I’m trying to sleep mind. I haven’t seen my belly ripple or move yet, I’m jealous! I only mentioned this to DP the other day. I do get strong kicks though. My bump is super tight at the moment so I’m thinking that could be the reason? It literally feels like a rock.

Unicorn234 · 06/02/2019 15:41

Okay guys so today I've been told I've got gestational diabetes. Got my first appointment on Monday. Feeling really worried and anxious!

jojoburr17 · 06/02/2019 18:04

Hi Spring Mummy!
Ahh is it your second? I’m doing good, also trying to look busy at work (not counting down the weeks until my holidays begin honestly Wink) and just feeling generally tired constantly!

Hey Unicorn, that must be really worrying for you, but Im sure you will receieve the best care possible, try not to panic... they will keep a good watch over you, sending hugs :)

LittleTopic · 06/02/2019 20:00

Hi again everyone Smile

I was feeling pretty good until today when I walked home and had to stop halfway because I was so knackered! I live on a hill and it totally took it out of me today Confused

Started writing my handover notes at work - very excited!

HettytheHoover · 06/02/2019 20:19

Hi there, due 25th April can I join?!
My lower back is really starting to hurt - anyone else's?!

Buttons28 · 06/02/2019 22:25

Thanks for the new thread! Just thought I'd check in. I'm 29+3 due 21st April. Sounds like we are all counting down the last few weeks until maternity leave, I've got just over 7 weeks left to go.
I'm getting lots of movement and sometimes can see the ripples on my stomach 😁 Don't think I've had any Braxton hicks yet
I have my first antenatal class tomorrow, not sure what to expect.

How are everyone's bumps doing?

@HettytheHoover I've had a couple of twinges but nothing too bad yet. My body definitely isn't used to this extra weight! Is it a constant ache or only when up and about? Hills are defo a killer these days @LittleTopic

@Unicorn234 oh no 😕 has this been picked up through a routine test? At least it can be controlled from here. I'm not surprised you are feeling anxious, I would be the same. Hope I everything goes ok. Let us know how you get on

Unicorn234 · 06/02/2019 22:31

@Buttons28 yeah I was sent for the GTT test as my bmi is higher and my bloods came back as slightly abnormal so treating me as a diabetic 😓 got my first appointment on Monday so should feel better about everything then x

HettytheHoover · 06/02/2019 22:34

Yes rippling stomach is good-weird isn't it!
Back twingey tend to be when I'm inactive too much and almost crampy in the way the pain moves around. Not too bad but realise I have a long way to go....

Good luck with the diabetes tests, there's lots of info about medication and a good diet meaning everything's normal, hope.youre not too worried

Buttons28 · 06/02/2019 22:47

Monday isn't too far away. Hopefully once they have explained everything at the appointment it will make you feel better

How is the baby prep going? I feel like I have bought most of the things I needed to get for baby. Starting to think about my hospital bag and the things I will actually need. Starting to get a slight nesting feeling coming over as I just want to get things sorted!
I've lost track with who knows and who doesn't know the sex of their baby. We are team yellow 💛

ChaosMoon · 07/02/2019 07:29

Hello ladies! And welcome @jojoburr17 and @HettytheHoover. ☺️

5 weeks @Anyat212, that's awesome! I think you might be the first of us to get free.

I've had BH for an good month or so. Sometimes they feel almost constant, but they hurt less than they did as long as I stop myself tensing and slow down when I'm walking. (They last for about 5 minutes every time I stand upright, change positing, eat, walk, need the loo, etc...) I'm using them as a good reminder to practice my up-breathing!

@Unicorn234 good luck for Monday. That really sucks but at least it's something they're very good at treating now.

That's so exciting @LittleTopic! I'm interviewing my maternity cover today, then the handover will begin. Kind of nervous about it - my priority is to get someone good for my patients but I also don't want them to like the new person more than me. 🤦 I'm putting that thought down to pregnancy paranoia and trying to ignore it!

@HettytheHoover my back was horrible for weeks, but I've changed my routine at work so I can move more and started to do a couple of days working from home. It's made a huge difference not to be stuck at a desk all the time.

@Buttons28 somehow DM delivering a van load of baby stuff last night has made me panic that there's more I've forgotten. I need to do a review this weekend and work out where I am with it all!

We're team yellow too!

Springmummy19 · 07/02/2019 10:51

@Anyat212 hey, yeah baby no one hence the over excitement at everything lol,. Yeah that could be why, give it time, they will some come!

@Unicorn23 aww dont be worried hun. Fingers crossed it goes okay for you. The worst thing you can do is stress trust me, I did that for days and really beat self up about it but You have to just remind yourself that it is nothing you have done to cause it and thankfully there is so much help and support available. Plus you get to see baby a few more times as they give you additional scans. there is also an excellent FB group that has lots of helpful info and stuff 'gestational diabetes UK Mums' maybe check it out. made me feel so much at ease. X

@jojoburr17 Baby no one for me. what about you? do you get tempted to just go and have a nap in the toilet? I do but them worry I might not wake up for ages lol

@Buttons28 Hello due date Twin Grin. I'm in 2 minds abut the classes but not sure why. we are also team Yellow although sometimes I do wish I had just asked

Had a mini scare this morning. Last night I had a work do and then it was none stop until I fell asleep about 11, woke up this morning about 6 and released I couldn't remember the last time I felt baby move. Usually baby is super active late night and early morning but nothing so I rang triage and they said to come in. Just as I messaged hubby to let him know... baby wakes up does the alien slimey moves like normal. I called triage and told them and they said It was up to me if i was confident all was okay. I decided not to go in and baby has since been letting me know all is okay Ha

jojoburr17 · 07/02/2019 11:46

Team yellow for me too! It will be so great on the day when they announce what it is :)

Springmummy19 · 07/02/2019 13:12

@jojoburr17 how have you found shopping for bubba though? I umm and arr so much and then 90% of the time I end up leaving what I have picked up thinking'I'll get this once baby is here' because I find most things cant be used by both boy or girl

jojoburr17 · 07/02/2019 13:28

@Springmummy19 Yeh really difficult clothes wise , as I don't want loads of neutral stuff, just enough for the first few days/weeks I suppose. Then I can do some shopping and get girl/boy stuff... Pram/crib etc sorted but feel bad cos I havent really got anything much else Blush

Springmummy19 · 07/02/2019 13:35

I've done the same. got the travel set sorted and bought enough clothes just for the first few days. Its out first baby and the first grandchild from hubbys side so I've told not to buy too much as we will get loads. Tbh I've been buying more of the stuff that I will need rather than baby specific like the a caddy to keep nappies and the bath time items in or the actual baby bath.

Remind me, is this your fist baby?

Springmummy19 · 07/02/2019 13:35

*first

jojoburr17 · 07/02/2019 14:22

@Springmummy19 yeh it's my first as well. I've been getting so much different advice from so many different people - same as yours, don't buy too much as people will buy for you etc
It's hard though as I don't want to expect people to buy for me if that makes sense?
