Thanks guys! ❤️ I just can't believe it as I got a bfn yesterday evening on a cheapy and then bfp this morning! So happy!
How many times did you all test? ...I thought I would buy some more tests to check the line progression.

That's really helpful thanks @EltzBee @sunshine1987. I checked the website and there is nothing on there so I think I will call tomorrow and book in with the gp.
Did you have to pee in a cup for them or do they take your word for it that you're pregnant?

@stormtrooperjulian Yes those Isoflavones did the job nicely 😂 if only I'd known that was the key 6 months ago! 😂

@Bettythecat I feel really sick today but I often do before af so I think it's just my usual reaction to a rise in progesterone? Boobs are on and off sore but again I sometimes get that before af so nothing noteworthy! How soon did you start to have symptoms? How far along are you now? This is all VERY exciting!

RanchoRelaxo · 03/02/2019 13:31

@flapjackered wooo yay so happy for you! Congratulations 💚

EltzBee · 03/02/2019 13:41

@FlapJackered the GP just takes your word for it. I took a sample but they didn't need it lol. I did a cheap test and then boots test when I found out as had them in cupboard and had huge temperature increase, and got a first response for next day along with doing another boots one, then 1 week later I did a digital 😊

I'm 10+1 today. Have booking appointment this Thursday then scan 15th. Think this 2 week's are gonna go slow.

Symptom I had normal pms ones then nothing for a week or so. Then exhaustion kicked in followed by nausea a week or two later. Which are still here. Everyone is different though, some ladies have had very little others really bad. Just take each day as it comes.

AnnaMC214 · 03/02/2019 14:18

@FlapJackered I rang the GP and they got the Midwife to call me back. My first appointment with her is when I'm 8 weeks. Every day feels like a month right now! Like @EltzBee said they just took my word that I'm pg which I was quite surprised by.

Bettythecat · 03/02/2019 14:24

@FlapJackered my GP asked me to drop off a urine sample which was sent to the hospital and then I got my booking appointment and scan appointment sent through so I think it depends on the GP.

I'm 5 + 4 now mostly no symptoms but definitely getting mood swings, boobs have grown and can be sensitive and sore, have a lot more headaches, some occasional twinges in abdomen, increase in CM.

I did three tests in the end but completely freaked myself out as used a different brand for the second one which had a fainter line than the first test I did the night before so I would use the same brand and make sure you leave at least 72 hours (that's how long it can take for HCG to rise) to see some progression so that you don't panic yourself!!!

Crossfitgirl · 03/02/2019 17:06

@FLAPJACKERED!!! Aaaaaahhhhhh so so so happy you are here!! Omg so glad I checked on today! We are on holiday and have been out the whole day and literally just checked to see if there was any more BFPs while DH is in the shower!! Congratulations!!! 😀❤️💐🤰🤰🤰
You were there right from the start of ttc for me and all the way through to now, I've been rooting for you all the way, feels like such a long time and finally BFP! Soooo happy for you!! Sorry I won't be on much over the next week but if we have a lazy day by the pool I'll be having a right good look through the thread at your pic!
How are you feeling???

Crossfitgirl · 03/02/2019 17:10

@flapjackered also no need to carry on the POAS obsession. A line is a line, mine was extremely faint, then still really faint the next day and it worried me so much, I waited a whole week (a bit more than a week actually) did another and it was as strong as the control, and I stopped there. As long as you have no period you'll know you're pregnant. That's what DH kept telling me all the way through to now! You won't stop worrying till you physically see it on the scan wriggling around if you're anything like me, so try to accept you are pg and for deffo!
OMG so happy anyway xxxx

mrsof20118 · 03/02/2019 17:21

@flapjackered wahey and congrats and welcome to this thread. You must be so pleased. I did weekly clear blue weeks indicators but no need to go that far! X

MrsLBear · 03/02/2019 17:32

Hi ladies!!
Just checking in! I've been a bit quiet lately, had so much going on. Went to see friends down in the West Country at the weekend which was so nice.

Mass congrats to you @FlapJackered!!!!! Best news ever isn't it!! 🖤🙌🏼
I was laughing about this the other day as I've not even been tested by drs or anything. I mean I did a wee sample and bloods at my booking appt obvs so I assume the test that got hcg?

MrsC87 · 03/02/2019 17:50

I asked this @MrsLBear at my booking in appointment but midwife say they never test for hcg as the tests we buy in the shop are conclusive enough...I was like "you just trust people until you see a baby on 12 week scan" and she said yep, costs the nhs too much money to test everyone for hcg so we just have to trust people.

Massive congrats @flapjackered! Awesome news.

Crossfitgirl · 03/02/2019 18:55

Just trying to catch up a bit. Just chilling before tea tonight as we're not hungry.

Question: anyone find now when you have sex, the sperm seems to keep coming out for ages after? TMI but... It seems to leak for ages longer than usual and its gross! I've started making DH wear a condom again! Lol is it just me?

Aaw @ranchorelaxo congratulations on finding out you're having a daughter! We have a gender scan booked for 16 weeks. I just can't wait to find out the sex! It's a 4d one purely so I won't need a full bladder, I do think those 4D ones look a bit freaky so I hope it's nice and not too strange seeing it so early on! Did you get any pics?

@gemmajen aww have a lovely holiday. Hope the nausea isn't too bad the rest of the time you're there. And enjoy Disney! Bet its amazing!

@cookiewaffle don't worry too much, it's only a tiny tiny risk. If you haven't got ill by now then you're good :-)

@bettythecat @eltzbee I did that when I first found out, just had tonic in a gin glass. Worked a treat! You can get all sorts of non alcoholic alcohol these days, even non alcoholic spirits, prosecco, wine etc. But I bet it tastes gross!
Think I'd rather have proper alcohol or none at all. I had a sip of DHs mohito today. Soooo good. Then back to my Fanta lemon. Lol

FivexFive · 03/02/2019 19:38

@crossfitgirl, hope you have a fab time on holiday!! We think we'll have to cancel ours... We're book to fly out to Bratislava at the end of June but I'm due mid/late September. We booked it 2 weeks before finding out!, how typical!! Still, obviously I'd rather be pregnant so it's all good whatever we do 🙂 It's something we'll be asking the midwife tomorrow.

As for sex... To be honest, we've only done it twice since finding out 2 weeks ago! After all the bd'ing we did while ttc, it feels a little odd. I think dh is a bit, how can I put this, daunted (?) by it?! Tmi, but both times I was on top and he was very 'careful', wouldn't lean over/be on top of me in any way... Bless him!! I don't mind at the moment to be honest, but hopefully we'll feel more sure of it all soon 😉

EltzBee · 03/02/2019 19:58

@crossfitgirl we've not done the deed since finding out 🤦 I've been shattered the idea of sex is just like no lol. So not done it since mid December....

I've not left the house since Tuesday last week as I'm so exhausted and barely functioning. Meant to be going to the office tomorrow and don't know what to do. I didn't work at all last Thursday as was so weak and sick. Any advice?

Bettythecat · 03/02/2019 20:12

@FivexFive why would you not be able to go to Bratislava? Probably missing something but I thought it was only the last some airlines wouldn't let you fly?

FivexFive · 03/02/2019 20:26

@bettythecat, I'm actually not sure, it might be fine. But a few people in the family have said I might be too far along, but maybe they just meant as in, it might not be very comfortable /relaxing? It's a short flight, we have a really nice hotel so can explore or chill, depending on how we feel. I'll ask tomorrow and go from there I think. It is on my list of questions!!

How are you feeling? I found a solution to my 'sore boobs on the morning' issue... Where a spots bra to bed!! Sexxxyyy 😂😜

FivexFive · 03/02/2019 20:27

Sorry, meant to say Sports Bra! X

Bettythecat · 03/02/2019 20:43

@FivexFive yeah maybe that's what they were thinking, I know some airline providers don't let you fly past 34/36 weeks because I guess there is a slim chance you might go into labour in the air but other than that I think you're ok but what do I know to be fair 😂, I'm sure your midwife will give you the low down. I hope you can fly as we have a wedding in Italy in July when I would be about the same stage as you are for Bratislava! I'd just assumed it was fine! Short flight and posh hotel all sound promising too. Might be the last time you get to have a holiday as just the two of you for quite some time too!!

Boobs actually feel fine today and feel generally ok although tired tonight- yesterday was a different story- mood was absolutely mental, was so up and down all day and my boobs were super sore. Sports bra sounds like a good trick. if it works for you, go for it! Xx

Crossfitgirl · 03/02/2019 20:52

@fivexfive you can fly up to about 34 weeks (I looked it up as thinking of booking one last hol in June ish before baby comes in Aug). It depends on the airline, as to what week you can fly upto. After that, you can actually fly right up to 36 weeks with a fit to fly note from your GP or midwife, think its to say you're low risk etc or not expected to go into labour early. It does differ by airline though so you'd need to check, but as long as there's no health risks etc for going there then there's no reason you shouldn't be able to go?

At first with sex, I was the one a bit freaked out rather than DH, he was super horny! I think he loves the fact we've made a baby! But we had about zero sex between about 6 and 10 or 11 weeks due to the sickness. Now it's picked up again as I'm feeling better!

@Eltzbee to be honest it doesn't even sound like you're well enough to work. You certainly wouldnt be at work if you felt like this and you weren't pg. Do work know you are pg? I had the worst of my sickness during my 2 week stint of annual leave, but still had to ring in the week after. This isn't going to go on forever, if you need to rest and do what's best for both you and your baby then that's what you should do. Tiredness makes the sickness worse, you're even less likely to get the nutrition you need, etc... I'm pro just ringing in sick to be honest. I felt mine and baby's health came first and I was no use to work anyway feeling so shite!
Have you had bloods done to check you're not actually anaemic? Or been to docs about the sickness at all? By sickness I mean all general pg related shitness? Xxx

Crossfitgirl · 03/02/2019 20:54

@fivexfive also if you have small ish boobs those M&S crop tops are super comfy to sleep in. I have 2 and in the sore boob stage I couldn't wear anything else to bed!

RanchoRelaxo · 03/02/2019 21:33

@Crossfitgirl we had a 'peak' of her in 4D, but it was just after they told us it was a girl so I was looking through watery eyes and couldn't concentrate on what they were saying, the pictures make her look a bit like an alien though, think that's normal untill she puts on a bit more weight :) but was lovely to see her properly. Do you have any thoughts on what you are having? Like I said earlier I was so convinced it was a boy! 😂

RanchoRelaxo · 03/02/2019 21:35

@Crossfitgirl here is the 4d pic (she looks so strange 😂)

Catching up with those from TTC thread- 2
Bettythecat · 03/02/2019 22:19

@RanchoRelaxo lovely picture how exciting!

I have a dilemma for you girls... if all goes to plan I'll be 31 weeks by the time of one of my best friends 30th birthdays. She's going to Paris for it for 2 days and I said yes to it as I don't want to miss out or let her down and also because no one knows so I can't tell her it might be a struggle by that point. I'm just not sure if I'll be capable of going by then or if I'll want to. I'll have to sit a lot of it out anyway but if I don't go I'll need to tell her I'm pregnant this week as she is going to book this week. But I'm only 5 weeks and didn't want to tell anyone until I was 12 weeks. Do I just go ahead with it and risk losing a couple of hundred quid if I can't go when it comes close to it or should I be cautious and pull out already?

Crossfitgirl · 03/02/2019 22:21

@ranchorelaxo oh wow! I have to say, she does look strange! Hehe but look at her little hands! was the whole scan 4d or just a bit of it? They do say the best time for 4d is after 26 weeks I think (it was something like that on the clinics website) as they are so skeletal at first, but I only booked it for the gender so I'm not too fussed if it looks like an alien as long as we find out the sex.

Well, at first I thought a boy would be nice, I'm quite active and sporty etc and my friend said she could see me with a boy doing sporty things etc. But when I was about 4 weeks, my reflexologist told me she thought I was having a boy. Then I told DH, and he's also convinced it's a boy. The whole timing of conception thing about boy sperm swimming faster but dying off quickly and girl sperm swimming slower but lasting longer, since we think we conceived on the day of ov he's convinced its a boy and has even started referring to it as "he". (despite evidence presented in Expecting Better totally debunking that whole myth). Then my SIL (the one I don't like) said her guess is a boy, a complete guess mind, as she has nothing to base it on.

So, now I want a girl.
The whole everyone thinking its a boy is annoying me!
And because I kinda want a girl now, I'm also convinced it's going to be a boy, just because that's how life goes for me 😂

I know... as long as its healthy it doesn't matter!!

Did you have a preference?

Crossfitgirl · 03/02/2019 22:25

@bettythecat at 31 weeks you'll be fiiiine. I'd just go. Are you worried you'll be too big and uncomfortable?
You'd still have over 2 months to go until full term, and its only a weekend.
What will the weekend involve? What are you particularly worried about?

Xxx
