Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a great weekend, sorry I have been so absent I've been really busy this last week or so, but we went for a gender scan yesterday and found out we are having a baby girl 😁 so happy

FivexFive · 02/02/2019 14:23

@ranchorelaxo, that's fantastic!! Any names springing to mind? I suggesed Lisa, but dh says it's only so I can sing the 'Lisa it's your birthday' song every year... Like that's Not a perfectly good reason?! 🙂

EltzBee · 02/02/2019 15:02

@RanchoRelaxo awwww 😊 that's great. Was that ahead of the 20wk scan? Good luck thinking of names!

mrsof20118 · 02/02/2019 16:25

MrsC87 · 02/02/2019 17:22

@EltzBee I think from memory some questions were around where you and partner were born as some countries have a higher risk of certain things. Mother's history If known of high bloody pressure. Blood transfusions etc

April2020mom · 02/02/2019 20:57

No luck yet. We want a baby later this year or next year. Fingers crossed that I’ll be expecting by April.

CookieWaffle · 02/02/2019 21:29

Ah lovely news @RanchoRelaxo :) xx

Sorry I'm a little quiet at the moment, I'm currently having a few days away. Just came back to the hotel for a rest as I'm managed to freak myself out. Just had a really tasty burger but I forgot about not eating meat pink and now I'm panicking and googling for any potential symptoms I might get. I only ate half of it but its still got me worried! Luckily there's lots of people on the Internet who have done the same and been fine. I just need to chill out...

RanchoRelaxo · 02/02/2019 21:58

Thanks everyone :)
@FivexFive that's a brilliant idea 😂😂
This was a private one before the 20 week scan, they were lovely and we got some good photos from it too :)
@MrsC87 ooh exciting! What do you think it is? (I was certain I was having a boy 😂)

MrsC87 · 03/02/2019 07:45

I'm sure it's a boy, just have this strong feeling @RanchoRelaxo will update you all next Saturday 😊

Hi ladies! I hope you're all ok and your beautiful blossoming bumps too!
I may be joining you lot soon if that's ok? I got my bfp this morning!! Can't actually believe it!! Very early days so don't want to count my chickens but 🤞🏻 🤞🏻 will be having an October baby!

FivexFive · 03/02/2019 08:55

@flapjackered, that is fantastic!! I'm so happy for you, I've been popping on the newest ttc thread to (lurker!) to see how you're all doing, was really hoping you'd get your bfp soon. Keeping everything crossed that this is it for you. Sending good, stick vibes your way... That sounds wrong somehow 🙂😉🤔 xxx

AnnaMC214 · 03/02/2019 09:13

@flapjackered I am so happy to see your name here this morning!!! Congratulations 💜 xx

Bettythecat · 03/02/2019 09:52

@FlapJackered yayyyyy hugest congratulations to you lovely one!! Well deserved after all those months of emotional ups and downs too!! I'm also an October due date, do you know what your date is?

Hope everyone is doing well today and enjoying their weekends. I went to TK MaXX yesterday and whilst I was in there bought myself some non-underwired crop tops so that they are more comfy when my boobs are sore. Only £10 for 2 from Laura Ashley and have lace at the back so are also quite pretty- would recommend if anyone is struggling with the boobs.

Went out last night for a friends 30th birthday and was so worried about not drinking and people guessing but I had a non alcoholic cocktail to start and when someone asked what it was I was like "oh I'm not sure the barwoman made it up" just in case someone tasted it and then after that I had tonic with ice and cucumber and got the barman to make it in a proper gin bowl and no one even questioned it! Everyone just assumed I was drinking gin and these were my best friends!! Felt so great at the end. At one point someone tried to get me to play beer pong and I was refusing and so he was like "give me your drink what are you drinking" and sniffed it and was like "smells like alcohol but I just had to check as you never know" 😂. I was thinking teehee well it's not alcohol mate. But good to know even the smell fooled him.

FlapJackered · 03/02/2019 10:07

Thanks so much you're all so lovely ❤️
What do I do now?! Do I need to book a doctors appointment.

@Bettythecat it has been such a long rollercoaster! I really thought it wasn't going to happen for us. So so happy!
I just looked at Fertility Friend and it says I'm due October 14th 😬 I am sure that will change though!

stormtrooperjulian · 03/02/2019 10:21

Yay @FlapJackered amazing news! So pleased to see you here 🥰 looks like the soy isoflavones did their job!

@Bettythecat I think I need some crop tops or something. DH looked at me yesterday while I was getting changed and pointed out that I need new bras, I’m massively bulging out of the cup. I’m already a 30E though and it’s hard enough finding pretty bras in that size let alone any bigger.

EltzBee · 03/02/2019 10:25

@FlapJackered ah congrats!

@Bettythecat Seedlip is a good one add it is alcohol free, a lot of bars have begun serving it now. Seedlip and tonic like a g&t without the alcohol!

sunshine1987 · 03/02/2019 10:56

@flapjackered would give your doctors a call or look online if they have a website to see what they say. A lot of doctors don’t want to see you but just refer you straight to the midwife. Ah this is such an exciting time for you, you must be so giddy today xx

Bettythecat · 03/02/2019 11:01

@EltzBee yup I've tried that before- definitely not as good as the real thing but it's not bad! They didn't have any in the bar last night though sadly. To be fair tonic with some fruit or lemon is actually fine isn't it- you don't miss the gin too much apart from the effect!

@MrsC87 maybe crop tops would work well for you then. The ones I have still have a bit of a cup in them so that they give support. Alternatively I think there are lots of bras that are designed for pregnancy and can then be worn when you are nursing too.

@FlapJackered I'm so glad you didn't give up hope but I completely know that feeling. TTC is so brutal emotionally and I definitely felt like I was never going to get pregnancy and was going to end up doing rounds and rounds of ivf or having to adopt! You can't help your mind going to those dark places can you. I'm due 3 October according to my app so you're just behind me! Have you had any symptoms really yet?

Xx

Bettythecat · 03/02/2019 11:02

Sorry I tagged @MrsC87 but meant to tag @stormtrooperjulian on the crop top chat!!

MrsC87 · 03/02/2019 11:05

🤣 I could do with crop tops also @Bettythecat, boobs are getting bigger by the day 🙈

EltzBee · 03/02/2019 11:33

@flapjackered where I am the GP wanted to see me first, went through a load of questions about family history and things that affect low or high risk and any previous. They then put in scan request then and there and asked me to book in with midwife at reception. It took 2 week's to get my scan date in the post. GP also gave me a booklet and some info on the screening.

@Bettythecat I'm trying to avoid buying anything till after our scan but may have to start wearing my sports bra as my normal bras are getting uncomfortable for my boobs. They seem to grow daily I'm sure 🤣

Shattered again today trying to resist falling back asleep 😴

GemmaJen · 03/02/2019 12:10

Congratulations @FlapJackered! So pleased for you! 😁🎉

Been quiet for the last few days, - we finally got to LA, I usually love flying, but nausea kinda put a damper on that, it felt like the longest flight ever! It's a beautiful city and really strange to be driving round and just recognising buildings and places from movies. Of course we brought the wet weather with us 🙄, I don't think we'll see the famous LA sunshine till sometime next week. Heading over to Disneyland today - so excited! 😎

Have a lovely week ladies X
