@Crossfitgirl such a lovely picture! Congratulations you must feel over the moon to have seen everything!! due date changes??? Xxx

CookieWaffle · 28/01/2019 18:21

Awww hello little @Crossfitgirl bean!! Glad it all went well xx

I'm officially about to tell work, though I'm not ready to announce it to colleagues so they'll just keep it quiet for now. It still all feels so early but this huge stomach is starting to show itself to the world! I'll be so happy when the secret is out though.

ChaosMoon · 28/01/2019 19:20

Congratulations @Crossfitgirl! You must be thrilled.

@CookieWaffle that's really exciting! Do you think they'll be supportive?

My back pain all but disappeared last week. (Still had back ache, but the normal kind, not this stabbing ligament pain.) By lunch time today, it was back with a vengeance. Sitting at a desk does not agree with me. Ah well. 7 weeks until mat leave!

Morning sickness sucks. I hope everyone struggling with it can find something that offers some alleviation.

Crossfitgirl · 28/01/2019 19:37

Thank you @eltzbee @gemmajen ❤️❤️❤️ and yes officially 2nd trimester, dated at 12+3 so just a couple of days further on than we thought.
We're also going on hol, on Saturday! Just booked it this weekend gone, bit of winter sun in tenerife. Going to be bliss now we know little wriggler is all OK!

Crossfitgirl · 28/01/2019 19:45

Oh missed a load of posts! Haha I was still on a previous page! Thank you @sunshine1987 @cookiewaffle @chaosmoon @sullywifey my new due date is 9th August. It was amazing to see it! So surreal! DH started crying immediately! Every time I giggled or moved though it moved the ultrasound so the picture went off, I had to hold it together til after! Lol!
@cookiewaffle with you on the massive stomach. I'm certain I'm showing... But I can also suck most of it in so... Must just be podge haha. How far are you again? I totally can't remember everyones dates I'm terrible!
@chaosmoon have you considered a pregnancy support belt? They can work wonders for back pain in pregnancy, kinda acts to keep your ligaments from stretching too much. We used to advocate them for pregnant ladies when I worked in outpatient physio. Xx

mrsof20118 · 28/01/2019 20:41

Congrats on the scan @Crossfitgirl

CookieWaffle · 28/01/2019 20:48

@ChaosMoon omg I can't believe you're almost on maternity already! I was a bit worried about work before but after a chat with someone today I think it's gonna be OK.

It still feels too early to tell, I'm so conflicted. But I know it's not uncommon for people to announce about now. Might wait a few more weeks before the world knows.

@Crossfitgirl my due date got adjusted to 3 days earlier so I'm 5th Aug now, 13 weeks in theory today.

Teachermummy83 · 28/01/2019 22:02

Congrats @crossfitgirl, lovely picture!
@Gemmajen, I’ve found bread helps settle my stomach but the queasiness is so sporadic, I’ve not needed to use that often. I’m really anxious though, It’s my only symptom so I keep getting crazily paranoid that I’m dreaming this whole pregnancy and I’m so nervous that the scan will be bad news - AND I’ve another 3 weeks to wait for it! I keep telling myself not to be daft, I know I’m a huge worrier but lack of symptoms is driving me mad!

MrsLBear · 29/01/2019 07:03

@GemmaJen the more I eat (small bits) the better I am but if I eat a big meal I feel worse. So hard to manage. I felt horrendous last night after work. And yday morning too. But I woke up especially early to make myself some scrambled eggs today cos I find it helps it I eat a proper healthy breakfast. I've had only 2 weeks of feeling like this and I can't remember not feeling like it!!
I agree with @Crossfitgirl staying hydrated is essential!!!!!!! I didn't drink enough yday and I think that's where my downfall was. I'm trying to drink 2litres a day. Some days even 3 cos I am actually so thirsty all of the bloody time!!! I also found sparking water is a life saver!!! Completely settles me. I'm attached to it like a baby would be a dummy. It's a comforter for me.

So so glad your scan went well @Crossfitgirl!!!! For some reason my app isn't showing me the photo. Must feel such a relief now and you can start being like yes I'm pregnant and no I don't feel good today so everyone back off!

ChaosMoon · 29/01/2019 09:00

Me neither @CookieWaffle! I'm shortlisting for my maternity cover today too. This is getting so real!

I know what you mean about telling people. Took me a couple of weeks after my scan to tell my team, and I think I was about 18 weeks when I told HR. I couldn't even tell you why exactly... Good luck today though. Enjoy it of you can.

@Crossfitgirl that's so helpful, thank you. I'll try to order one today. Working from home so I can try sitting on a gym ball too. Apparently that helps some people and I'm willing to try anything!

Tenerife will be lovely. What a great way to celebrate!

Crossfitgirl · 29/01/2019 09:16

@mrslbear I had MN remove the photo as I hadn't realised it had all my personal details at the top of it! Went and posted the same in the old ttc thread too for all to see Haha. Baby brain...

Crossfitgirl · 29/01/2019 09:27

Here it is without my details 😂

@crossfitgirl 😂 amazing you can see the spine on yours! x

ChaosMoon · 29/01/2019 10:36

Oh my god, @Crossfitgirl I didn't even check when I posted mine! And I have no idea what thread it was on...

EltzBee · 29/01/2019 14:38

Afternoon all. Just on the train back from London (and managed to get a seat, 1hr 20 this journey). Was hardwork getting out this morning, was woken up with nausea a few times in night. Had couple of crackers and water when I woke up but proceeded to lose them. Was sick 5 times in a row this morning whilst trying to get ready. Eventually managed to get out the house and get to the office then London though. Stubbornness I think..

9+3 today, my app is kindly telling me that morning sickness can peak this week so guess I'm textbook at the moment!!

MrsLBear · 29/01/2019 19:03

@Crossfitgirl ohhhhhhh look!!!!! Little bub!!!
I see! Haha I thought my phone was having yet another malfunction!!

Oh no don't say that @EltzBee! I can't take the sickness getting any worse. When is your scan?

EltzBee · 29/01/2019 20:18

@MrsLBear sorry! Apparently it is when the hormones reach their peak. You might be lucky! My scan is 15th Feb, so two weeks Friday. Eeeek! Got my booking appointment Thurs 7th. Did you get your date though? I have a memory like a sieve atm!

GemmaJen · 29/01/2019 20:37

Thanks guys, I'm going to have to pop into town to get some healthy foods and I'll try some mints too. Been stuck in bed for most of the day as felt so rubbish. The only thing that's helping is eating every half hour. Unfortunately fruit isn't cutting it, so I've been topping up on bagels, pasta, crisps and cookies all day - still not feeling full, but at least I've not been sick again. But at this rate I'm going to be huge by 12 weeks.

@EltzBee 9w? Gah, I don't think I can cope with it getting worse! Good news on your dates coming through, I'm hoping I'll get my scan date tomorrow at booking, looking like it'll be the 28th 🤞

EltzBee · 30/01/2019 09:05

@GemmaJen eat what you can, don't worry too much about if it is healthy or not. If you can face it and keep it down, enjoy. I have cream crackers in my bedside table to try and help. Some days they do, others nothing works! I carry extra strong mints with me for the train, car, office which help a bit. My nutrition lately has got awful. I've gone off most veg and any salad.

stormtrooperjulian · 30/01/2019 09:46

@Crossfitgirl lovely pic! Must be such a relief having that out of the way

I’ve booked an early scan for next Friday, I’ll be 7+2 then so if all is well hopefully we’ll see the heartbeat. Twins run in my family too so that worries me a bit! Will call the midwives today to refer myself for booking in etc. too.

EltzBee · 30/01/2019 10:53

@stormtrooperjulian good luck with the early scan! We were tempted but decided to wait in the end. Hopefully by 7 they should be able to see the heartbeat if dates are right too.

GemmaJen · 30/01/2019 11:58

Good luck with the scan @stormtrooperjulian

I've got my booking in this afternoon, kinda nervous, partly as I hate having bloods being taken and secondly about talking about the mmc etc... I haven't seen this midwife since before it happened.

How are you all affected with the snow? I've been on a call with some of my work team in Manchester and they have it pretty bad. Down where we are in the Cotswolds it's glorious sunshine and not a flake of snow.

EltzBee · 30/01/2019 12:58

@GemmaJen ah bless you, try not to worry. I've always been fine with bloods thankfully, deep breath and don't think about it too much! Hope the midwife is nice. Mine is next week and DH is going to come with. Are you going on your own? Just remember that their job is to support you and look after you and baby so ask the questions you want to too. Sending hugs and hope they deal with what happened before sensitively. Let us know how you get on.

New food aversion discovered today - bananas. Didn't discover that til after I'd chopped one and mixed it through my porridge like normal doh!

EltzBee · 30/01/2019 13:02

Oh and thankfully whilst it did snow here in South Oxfordshire yesterday it didn't settle, today's cold but sunny. ☀️❄ We're forecast snow tomorrow again though. Fingers crossed it stays away or doesn't settle! Our trains on the GWR main line do Wales to London so we tend to get the problem for public transport even if we don't get the snow 😂

FivexFive · 30/01/2019 13:13

@gemmajen, good luck with your appointment 🙂🍀 Hope the blood tests go OK, they can never get any from me so mine will be fun next week!

Well ladies, my exam is tomorrow, so today is study, study, study!! Hoping it goes OK. Monday is my first midwife appointment. I think I'll be about 7 weeks, but not 100% sure. Assuming my last period was about 18th Dec, but it was super light and didn't last long at all. But it must have been a proper one, otherwise the last one was end of Nov and surely I'd know if I was That far along, right?! Xx
