MyloC · 27/01/2019 20:07

Thanks @MrsC87

Hope it’s okay to join 😊 it’s my first baby and I am currently 15 + 1 due date 20th July!

Crossfitgirl · 27/01/2019 20:08

@mrsc87 I'm a mixture of really excited and horribly nervous. Its not til 3.30pm so gonna have to keep well distracted til then!
@Phoebebear yay for DD buddies! But tomorrow may change it hehe.
@gemmajen HA, ill be lucky if I make it to 9pm normally, let alone when pg!! Get plenty rest, it's the one thing that for me seems to help all symptoms. Rest rest rest.
Xxx

EltzBee · 27/01/2019 20:20

Good luck for tomorrow @Crossfitgirl!

Had awful nausea and exhaustion all weekend again, going to work from home tomorrow as there's no way I can make it o the office and survive the day if I'm still like this. Got a client meeting in London on Tues so need to be feeling rested!

sunshine1987 · 27/01/2019 20:34

@crossfitgirl sending you lots of love for tomorrow, all will be fine and you’ll get to see your precious bubba 💜

Teachermummy83 · 27/01/2019 23:19

Hey! Just checking in 😊
9+5 and waiting, very impatiently, for my dating scan on the 18th February. Time feels like it’s dragging!!! Worrying about my lack of symptoms still. Initial due date from my midwife is 28th August xx

MrsLBear · 28/01/2019 09:16

Good luck to those who have their scans today!!!! So excited for you! Can't wait to see pics ❤️

I have literally put on so much weight already I can't stop eating. Despite the nausea. Anyone else having this?

EltzBee · 28/01/2019 09:21

@MrsLBear up until last week I was losing weight as I just coudn't eat properly :( I had lost 8lbs since Christmas.

Feeling absolutely awful again today - been up most the night as just so nauseous. Done nothing all weekend (except a 1hr trip out the house to go buy a curtain pole, exciting!). Was meant to go out to see friends yday but just couldn't face it as so lousy. Working from home today but I think I'm going to have to go and lie down again and try and get some more sleep after essential meetings.

GemmaJen · 28/01/2019 09:27

@MrsLBear yes! I've been eating constantly, I've gained weight already 🙈

@Crossfitgirl was in bed by 8pm yesterday to make up for it. None of our friends know out news yet so I didn't have much of a choice but to stay up. It was a good party though 😊. Good luck for your scan X

GemmaJen · 28/01/2019 09:28

@EltzBee that sounds rubbish, is it exhaustion and nausea? Could the GP prescribe something?

EltzBee · 28/01/2019 09:37

@GemmaJen yep :( the GP I spoke to the other week when it was really bad over the phone wasn't interested and prescribed a few days of anti nausea tablets, but couldn't guarantee they're safe in early pregnancy so I'm wary to risk them! My sea-bands aren't really helping either. Being exhausted makes the nausea worse but then I can't sleep because I feel so sick. It's a viscous circle!

Crossfitgirl · 28/01/2019 13:34

Aww @eltzbee sounds awful. I'd be tempted to go back and maybe see a different GP. I think sometimes nausea is worse than throwing up as at least you feel better for a bit after being sick. I did feel like that all the time weeks 6-8 and still get the odd day here and there but couldn't have been at work. They do prescribe anti emetics for loads of pregnant women so they can't be that bad... And if it means you get through life for the next few weeks then I'd be asking for some. I'm sure @delilah7 knows more about them?? I know they didn't work much for you delilah but did they say there was any risks?

2 hours till my scan. 1 hour til drinking a pint of water haha. I'm so so so distracted I can't concentrate on anything!

Crossfitgirl · 28/01/2019 13:35

Also @eltzbee have you tried rennie or mints or minty things like peppermint tea? I find rennies do help a little to settle my stomach.

Delilah7 · 28/01/2019 13:37

@Crossfitgirl @EltzBee was told there was no risks as they wouldn't prescribe them. I'm now on what they say they use for chemo patients called odansatron and trust me they work. Unfortunately hospital have to prescribe them first after you've been for a drip etc...
none of the normal ones worked for me x

GemmaJen · 28/01/2019 16:25

I've cancelled my NHS epu scan for tomorrow and now I'm second guessing myself. I don't need it as we had a successful private scan last week - my brain knows this, but I now can't get it out of my head that something could be wrong. Pregnancy paranoia is the worst ☹️

I am starting to get some symptoms at 7w tho, so that's both unpleasant but reassuring. A bit of nausea, tiredness and sore boobs, but they keep coming and going so not helping my paranoid brain.

How are people coping with the nausea? I'm finding rating helps it go away, but can't be snacking all day 🤷

sunshine1987 · 28/01/2019 16:36

@gemmajen unfortunately I have to eaten little and often to stop the nausea. Apparently sea sickness bands work x

Crossfitgirl · 28/01/2019 16:40

Here is our little bean!! All is well, healthy as far as they could see and wriggling around into all sorts of positions! So happy!
Completely empty bladder too haha I did drink the water but they took me in early!
Soooo glad all is well. Phew!

GemmaJen · 28/01/2019 16:42

@sunshine1987 glad you understood what I meant, lol. *Eating not rating ... Always so many typos in my posts. What snacks do you find helpful?

GemmaJen · 28/01/2019 16:43

@Crossfitgirl congratulations! Awesome picture 😊

Crossfitgirl · 28/01/2019 16:47

@gemmajen the paranoia is just there, as unhelpful as this is, you may as well get used to it. I was freaking out despite having symptoms, despite no period for 3 months, no bleeding etc, no signs of anything untoward. You'll worry when you have symptoms and as soon as they ease you'll worry again. Try to focus on the fact you Are pregnant, everything has proved normal so far, so you have no reason to think anything will be wrong.

Nausea wise the things that work for me were: eating little and often, having whatever I fancied even if it's total shite, (for me cereal, rich tea biscuits, yoghurt were best) sipping water to keep hydrated (I had to have a rotation of different cordials that I kept getting sick of, hated drinking but always felt better when hydrated) getting fresh air, and the best one: DISTRACTION. I find when I busy myself, I forget about it for a bit and feel better. If I mope at home I feel worse.
Getting plenty sleep and resting helps a lot too.
I found all the ginger stuff pretty minging. Not for me lol.

Crossfitgirl · 28/01/2019 16:48

Ooh and peppermint. Polos, soft mints and rennies help me!

GemmaJen · 28/01/2019 17:01

Thank you @Crossfitgirl I agree ginger isn't working for me either. My nausea isn't awful yet, but was especially noticable today as it hit me mid appraisal with my boss... Just the best timing. We're off on holiday on friday so hoping that's the distraction I need to get to the 9w scan at the very least.

You must be thrilled with your little wriggler, officially second trimester now?

EltzBee · 28/01/2019 17:18

@Crossfitgirl ahhh lovely pic, congrats!

My seabands are firmly on and aren't coming off any time soon, got Extra Strong Mints stocked up (they're my survival for the train, car rides and meetings). Think I'm just having a particularly bad couple of days. It is worse if I don't have the seabands on, so they are helping! They saw me through a Force 9 crossing the Bay of Biscay but apparently pregnancy nausea is worse! lol.

@GemmaJen cream crackers on the bedside table are also helping stop me being sick, if I can get one of them in me before I get out of bed I can usually (slowly) get up and just about function. My cat has decided she likes them too though and gets all excited when she hears me get one out the pack, the weirdo.

MrsC87 · 28/01/2019 17:37

Fab pic @Crossfitgirl 😊 so pleased for you xx

@crossfitgirl so glad it all went well 💜 did they change your due date? x

@gemmajen cereal bars, crackers, grapes. Just anything I could pick at really. Had two breakfasts most days lol x
