Right ladies. I'm spending way too much time on here. I'm banning myself for a week or so, so I can be more productive next week. I got a bit obsessed and started looking at the trending and active threads last week and I feel well and truly mumsnetted out!
I have a student starting with me tomorrow (eugh) a really full work week, and have about a million things to do and about a hundred friends to catch up with following my hermitting in the first trimester.
I'm going to be strict with myself.

So... Adios for a little while, but definitely catch up with you all soon :-)
Xxxxxx

@Bettythecat she is not too worried by caffeine in the book. I didn't read it too in depth as I don't really drink coffee. But interestingly she believes that the studies that say caffeine is bad are skewed because people who have bad morning sickness are known to have healthier pregnancies and people who feel very sick are less likely to want or be able to drink lots of coffee. And those that drink more coffee are likely to have less nausea which is known to have higher risk of problems with pregnancy and the baby.

Yes totally @FivexFive, I've finally accepted I am going to be a mum in the summer 😆 I have not accepted the fact a watermelon has to come out of my fangita! 😳
@Bettythecat we only agree on Noah but I like Oliver, Charlie, Archie, Edward and Ruan (think it's welsh)
I just bought some vests and muslin cloths from next but think I'm going to order some things from Joules they have lovely clothes!! 🥰😍
Where in West Midlands are you based @FivexFive?
Aww please check in every now and then @Crossfitgirl we'll miss you 😘

@FivexFive I'm also from West Midlands!

@Bettythecat I would also fit in on the cat forums, here's a pic of mine

@MrsC87 ahh Noah is a lovely name :) I found thinking of boys names that we both agreed on super hard though, finding girls much easier!

@Crossfitgirl have a nice break :)

FivexFive · 10/02/2019 14:26

@crossfitgirl, we'll miss you, but take a break if you need it!! I know what you mean about getting sucked in... I actually only go on this thread now really, is it just me or lots of other ones like little horror stories?! I was freaking myself out a bit!

@mrsc87, @ranchorelaxo, I live in Tamworth, which is a little town just north of Birmingham. It is a 15 min train ride to Birmingham City centre.

Xx

MrsC87 · 10/02/2019 14:29

I'm Kidderminster @FivexFive @RanchoRelaxo not far at all xx

Maybe a Brummie meet up on the cards girls?? X

RanchoRelaxo · 10/02/2019 15:12

Ah I'm more on the border of West Midlands, up near Stoke, would have liked a catch up! (Actually looking at a map it doesn't look like im in West Midlands at all.. have always thought Stoke was classed as that though!

Has anyone sickness got worse the further they go on? I wasn't too bad really at the start, but this morning I had a (previously loved) drink and it tasted awful, made me really sick! 18 weeks tomorrow I thought the sickness was well behind me 😂

AnnaMC214 · 10/02/2019 17:34

@Crossfitgirl have a very nice break. I totally get why you feel you need it! xx

@FivexFive I couldn't agree more about all the horror stories! I keep wandering onto Google and freaking myself out and then having to have a stern word with myself!

FlapJackered · 10/02/2019 17:47

@Crossfitgirl I get the need to have a break, I am only on this thread. I joined another one but there are so many people on it, I don't think I have the energy for it!
Come back to us soon though!!

Bettythecat · 10/02/2019 18:03

@RanchoRelaxo @FivexFive love the cat pictures, I'll post some of my lot. I actually have four (I'm not weird honest!) as we adopted two sets at different times!

@Crossfitgirl that's actually made me worry a bit as I haven't had any morning sickness yet and I'm 6+4. Maybe it will come later for me or maybe I won't get any at all. Hopefully it's not a sign of anything bad to come.

Has anyone had no sore boobs or sore boobs that come and go? Mine were really sore last weekend but don't feel sore at all really the last couple of days. They have definitely grown though although I think that's partly because I've already put on weight- tried on a dress in my usual size yesterday and it only just fit me!

Wow it seems like we're a bunch of cat lovers. I love seeing all the cute pics. Here's mine.

@Bettythecat I'm 6+2 today and lack of morning sickness is one of the things I'm currently trying not to worry about. Consistently sore boobs has been my only symptom so far that I can definitely put down to being pg. They haven't grown though which is a bit disappointing for a tiny boobed person like myself. I had a Google (before I got a hold of myself and reinforced the ban!) and whether you have symptoms or not doesn't seem to mean anything.

Oh my goodness @stormtrooperjulian @AnnaMC214 what beauties!! I can't believe there are so many cat lovers too! I normally get a few strange looks when i say I have 4 cats but it seems like I'm in good company here! @stormtrooperjulian is the cat in the second picture part pedigree? He/she is so pretty!

Bettythecat · 10/02/2019 18:50

@AnnaMC214 sorry forgot to respond on your actual post- was distracted by all the cats! I'm glad it's not just me who is worrying about this stuff. It's so hard not to worry isn't it. I keep touching my boobs to see if they're sore - I'll probably end up making them sore from all the poking!

AnnaMC214 · 10/02/2019 18:58

@Bettythecat I do the same! I'm giving them a good grope multiple times a day! 😂 Right now I'm having trouble believing I'm actually pregnant!

stormtrooperjulian · 10/02/2019 19:05

@Bettythecat no pedigree just standard moggie, #2 and #3 are brothers and #1 is their mother.

@AnnaMC214 I keep prodding my boobs to check if they’re still sore too, hopefully no one at work has noticed me doing it 😂😂

FivexFive · 10/02/2019 20:13

Hi guys! Glad to hear you are all boob poking too! Mine are definitely a bit bigger now (still nothing to write home about, but dh seems pleased, wonder why?! 🤔) They're not as sore this week, only a bit in the morning.

Can also say that dh seems to be over his early worry about us getting down! I've tasked him to research good positions for when I'm bigger, it's "literally the best homework ever", apparently 🙄

Got a bit ahead of myself today, saw a baby names book in a charity shop for £2 and thought why not?! Still going between excitement for having baby, panic about actually raising the baby and 'what if there's nothing there at the scan'?! Sigh. Xx

Bettythecat · 10/02/2019 20:29

@FivexFive I'm really suffering with the "what if there's nothing there at the scan" worry. 1 in 4 seems like such high odds and with my cousins recent experience I'm worrying about it. I also made the mistake of doing some googling today which took me to some forums where they were talking about mc. 😫

AnnaMC214 · 10/02/2019 20:57

@Bettythecat and @FivexFive I'm right there with you with that worry Sad I don't deal very well with waiting for news. I just wish I could know now if it'll be ok.

It's important to remember though that often figures like 1 in 4 include people who lost it so early that they never even knew they were pregnant. Things online make it seem so much worse as people go to forums etc to get support and share their story. It gives the false impression that the figure is even higher than 1 in 4.

Bettythecat · 10/02/2019 21:13

@AnnaMC214 I know you're definitely right and I'm trying to tell myself that but I guess the lack of symptoms is also making me worry too. I know it's early days though and not everyone has symptoms. I've been googling a lack of symptoms and there are lots of people on forums saying they were the same but had healthy babies. I'm just counting down the days really to our 8 week scan in two weeks. I'm sure we will all be totally fine- fx for all of us 😘

FivexFive · 10/02/2019 21:33

@bettythecat, I know it's hard but Do Not Google!! I repeat, Do Not Google!! Stay here where it is warm, safe and positive and if you start to feel like there really is something wrong just call your Dr.
Rabbit holes are dangerous, trust me! Xx

Bettythecat · 10/02/2019 21:45

@FivexFive haha thank you 💜 you're so right. Maybe if I feel the need to google I'll come on here and you can stop me!! Xx
