Oh no, @Delilah7 that's so unfair! I hope it goes soon.

I thought the same thing about the notes @EltzBee. Doesn't exactly make it easy to keep them with you all the time when they don't fit in most handbags!

That's great news though, both about the not being sick and not having to wait long for your scan now.

canonlyhopexo · 07/02/2019 19:34

Hi girls sorry I haven't checked in for a while. The thread moves fast! Have been trying to read and catch up but been completely wiped out last few days/week or so. Welcome to our new girls! Going back to work next week on a part time basis to see how I get on after 8 weeks off with hyperemisis. Isn't it so strange how we're all in the UK yet different areas do things so differently! X

EltzBee · 07/02/2019 19:41

@sunshine1987 haha guess we'll see turn week tomorrow.... Gonna be a long week!

@ChaosMoon oh blimey are we meant to take them every where with us all the time?! 😯

Delilah7 · 07/02/2019 20:39

@ChaosMoon seems a lot better. 18 weeks tomorrow! :D x

FivexFive · 07/02/2019 20:43

@delilah7, nice seeing you on here!! I hope you feel better again soon xx

Apparently the midwife if forwarding all my details to the hospital along with my bloods etc. So I guess I wait for the hospital to send the letter. Will just wait and see.

Side note my mil has started sending me articles on 'mindful hypnobirthing'... I'm only 7 weeks. This is going be a loooong pregnancy 🙄

ChaosMoon · 07/02/2019 20:54

Tell me about it @canonlyhopexo. Such a postcode lottery. I'm glad you're feeling up to going back to work, even if it is part time. I hope it goes well.

We are indeed @EltzBee. Not that I do... Maybe I'll start at week 35.

Oh wow. It's nice that she cares @FivexFive. But that is really keen!

Delilah7 · 07/02/2019 21:07

@FivexFive hey lovely! Yeah I haven't had the energy to be on here :( xxx

Crossfitgirl · 07/02/2019 23:58

@chaosmoon @eltzbee I was told I only need mine at appointments, not physically everywhere. Unless that's not what you meant lol x

FlapJackered · 08/02/2019 08:58

@Delilah7 you're really not having an easy time of it, you poor thing. I hope you have some good support from your DH and family. X

@sunshine1987 ah ok! When I look on fertility friend it gives the option of dating from ovulation or period, from ovulation I am 4+4 but from period I am 5+3. So I am guessing they will book me into a scan based on my period which will be a week earlier? What week is the scan meant to be? Is it week 12?

@EltzBee glad the appointment went well! Were there any questions that you weren't expecting? What was the blood test for, just hcg? Hurrah for not being sick!! 😄

@FivexFive Wow that is keen, she must be really excited which is sweet! I am actually quite interested in doing a hypnobirthing course, i have heard good things.

Delilah7 · 08/02/2019 08:59

@FlapJackered it will be worth it though won't it? I'm managing much better now thank god. Just don't like the relapses hahaha. How're you? Support is great thank you x x

FlapJackered · 08/02/2019 09:01

Did anyone get kind of a stitch-like/ovulation type pain on one side? It's just a sharp pain that comes and goes? Trying not to get paranoid about every twinge but it all still feels a bit too good to be true and I have scared myself this morning by googling ectopic pregnancies 😕🤦🏼‍♀️

Bettythecat · 08/02/2019 09:03

Morning everyone! Thought the stage of waking up at 5am had passed but no!

@FlapJackered I like the sound of hypnobirthing too as I've read some really good things about it. I'm also going to look into a home birth which is very hippy of me- I'm actually not a hippy type I just know I'll want a water birth and the hospital near me only has one birthing pool. Also I think it would be quite nice to get straight on the sofa with a champagne when it's over...! Other thing is that we live less than a mile from the hospital so I know I could get there extremely quickly if I needed to. What's everyone's thoughts?

FlapJackered · 08/02/2019 09:04

@Delilah7 it will definitely be worth it and at least the end is in sight! I'm glad you're feeling better.
I am good thanks, a bit queasy and sore boobs but otherwise feel good! I have got a week or so until the symptoms will really kick in though.

Bettythecat · 08/02/2019 09:06

P.S I'm going back home this weekend for a birthday and I'm on the train tonight with one of my best friends who had already texted me she wants wine for the train!! She's amazing but she's not very trustworthy- tends to get drunk and tell people things- so I don't want to tell her for a while. Thinking I might buy her a wine and get myself a gin in a tin and then just pretend to sip it and when she goes to the loo tip it into an empty water bottle or something!! Is that totally deranged of me?!😂

sunshine1987 · 08/02/2019 09:08

@crossfitgirl @chaosmoon @eltzbee I was told to keep my notes on me at all times, mine stays in my car. Midwife said it was incase anything went wrong when I wasn’t at home etc or in an accident the hospital would always need my notes to look at my pregnancy x

@flapjackered yeah fertility friend gave me a completely different date to NHS but midwife took from date of last period which put me a week forward than I thought. Then the scan placed me a day ahead of that day too so I’m nearly a week and a half ahead of FF dates 🤷🏻‍♀️ Yeah it’s roughly week 12, anytime from 11 weeks to 13+6 they’ll scan you x

FlapJackered · 08/02/2019 09:13

@Bettythecat snap with waking up at 5!
Ooo home birth. I would be really tempted. I like the idea of it but I think for my first I am probably going to go to the birthing centre in the local hospital. My SIL went to an individual birthing centre and had meconium in her waters so had to be rushed in an ambulance to hospital in rush hour. She found it quite traumatising and it has put me off it a bit. Also my DH has THE most massive head. 😬 so I think complications are going to be a possibility.
Great idea for the train with the gin can! You can always say you think you have developed an allergy to wine so you're going to stick to the gin?

@sunshine1987 oh really, that's interesting. I guess they will book me in when I see the midwife.

EltzBee · 08/02/2019 09:44

@FlapJackered no they don't check HCG. It is for any diseases they need to check you don't have, blood group, vitamin levels etc.

Think I'll take my notes with me then just not sure how to fit them in bag when on the train for work! Might have to switch back to a back pack...lol

Woken up still feeling shattered today. And sooo hungry!

This time next week we'll be having our scan. Eek.

Crossfitgirl · 08/02/2019 10:24

@sunshine1987 Whoops haven't taken my notes anywhere other than my appointments! Though they literally have nothing in them other than my name and address and forms that haven't been filled in, so don't think they'd be much use. Don't even have medical history on! Maybe that's why they didn't tell me to keep them on me.

@flapjackered yeah go from your last period. If in doubt, if you start to feel sick you're probably about 6 weeks 😂

I thought about a home birth. For about a second. Totally want to be near doctors and drugs! I'm far too anxious it would be the worst for me! Lol. My friend had one and said she chose that as the MW has to stay with you the whole time, and planned to hire a birthing pool etc. But she had to go in anyway in the end.

I'm thinking of a hypnobirthing course. Think @chaosmoon did one? Was it you? I plan to get a book first and see what it involves.

Ha @bettythecat yes do that! How observant is she? Would she notice if you got a non alcoholic bottle of wine for yourself? I'm pretty oblivious and wouldn't notice if someone was drinking a bottle of non alcoholic beer or something. I'd just assume it was alcohol!

sunshine1987 · 08/02/2019 10:31

@crossfitgirl ahhh yours might be different then, mine has my history and everything they collected at booking in appointment in them plus the results of the screening tests etc x

Crossfitgirl · 08/02/2019 10:36

@sunshine1987 bit jealous. I want to see all that info on mine! Lol! Ah well. Have a good Friday everyone. It's our last full day in Tenerife so having a pool day again, I look so fat and I just don't care, it's alllllll hanging out of my bikini and I'm just sticking my belly out like I don't know what! Haha.

sunshine1987 · 08/02/2019 10:40

@crossfitgirl enjoy your last day of sunshine lovely xx

EltzBee · 08/02/2019 10:50

@sunshine1987 Mine is the same it has all the medical history and things in it.

@crossfitgirl enjoy the last day on holiday make the most of the sunshine! Can you bring it back with you please? Hehe. It's torrential rain and really windy here. Sunshine and a pool sound lovely!

Had my hair cut last night and my hair dresser commented how thick my hair had for and how much is grown. She asked if we were still trying so I think I managed to bluff my way through lol!

The midwife yesterday mentioned the different location's for giving birth and included home birth. I definitely want to be in a hospital or midwife unit, i like to know they're on hand and have everything they could need! Lol. A friend had a home birth for there 2nd and liked it though.

canonlyhopexo · 08/02/2019 11:36

@FlapJackered I had that stitchy ovulation type pain and still get pains now and I'm 14 weeks. Think about how much stretching and growing is going on in there!

My midwife told me that my notes must be with me at all times. I will admit I popped to Tesco for 5 mins the other day and didn't feel the need to take them then lol but I will be popping them into my handbag when I'm back to day to day life. I see my midwife fairly regularly anyway so best just to keep them on me in case I guess. I'd love a home birth but I'd be worried about making a lot of noise lol! And also panic in case I needed a doctor or something. If only we could go to a spa and have a nice relaxing massage to get our babies out!!

EltzBee · 08/02/2019 11:41

@canonlyhopexo oh that would be nice wouldn't it! Massage and pampering at the same time 🤣

Thanks for advice on notes ladies. Think I will get in to the habit of taking them with me, just in case anything should happen. I'd feel a right fool if I did need them and had to be told off for not having them on me lol.

The midwife warned my DH that the delivery units are all very warm so as he gets too hot all the time he should be prepared lol!

canonlyhopexo · 08/02/2019 11:43

@EltzBee pedicure at the same time would be fab as we won't be able to touch our toes beforehand 😂

I always find hospitals absolutely roasting. When we went for our 12 week scan the poor lady who was talking me through a growth chart had to get me a fan and all sorts I was really getting in a state it was so embarrassing!!!
