Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

Hi to all the newbies & congrats! So many of us now!!! My EDD is on the 20th of October.

Just booked my early scan on the 8th of March. Will be 7+5 then, cant wait!

I am not too bad on the insomnia part now but was before I found out so in the first couple of weeks PO. Found that I have massive boobs (although does fluctuate from day to day but always a bit sore), a bit tired and some cramps now and again + bloating. I think a bit moody maybe but I might just be paying more attention to it ahahah! Xx

CZFR · 20/02/2019 17:22

@Nextchapter19 Good luck!!! Seeing some friends also over the weekend and will be so hard to hide it too! Xx

coconutlatte44 · 20/02/2019 17:27

@CZFR It's good to feel like things are actually moving along isn't it - otherwise time can pass so slowly! I received letters today from the hospital I self referred to with info about my first appointment and 12 week scan, still 7 weeks away until that but the letter made it feel more real!

CZFR · 20/02/2019 17:49

@coconutlatte44 Really does! Amazing news on the appointment, this is such an exciting time. Never thought weeks could last for so long before! 😂 xx

coconutlatte44 · 20/02/2019 17:55

I know, it has only been just over a week since my positive test, seems like forever!

Nextchapter19 · 20/02/2019 18:07

Does anyone else’s tummy rumble alot? Im assuming this is pregnancy related as don’t usually get this!!! Odd sensation.

Thanks @CZFR my early scan is march 3rd when I’ll be 7 + 3 so pretty similar!

Jodie6 · 20/02/2019 18:22

Hello everyone,

So I'm 6 + 3 so due mid October. I self-referred myself to a hospital (which my GP told me I had to do) for my 12 week scan which is now booked in on 1 April.

I've done a lot of reading and specifically there are a number of tests which the NHS advise we have between 8-10 weeks however I can't seem to get an appointment with the GP to get these booked in with the midwife.

I booked an appointment today which was to get me on the system however this appointment took all of 2 minutes and they told me I had to book another appointment with the midwife which they can't fit me in until 11 weeks.

I explained to both the GP and the reception that I would like the appointment between 8-10 weeks for those reasons and she told me that I was over worrying about it and that everything is fine with me and the baby. Only thing is they have no actual proof that it is because they haven't even confirmed the pregnancy.

Help?

Glitterandunicorns · 20/02/2019 18:27

Hi @Jodie6. Congratulations! Don't worry- as long as the tests are done by 12 weeks, it's fine. I've just had my booking in appointment and according to my notes, there are no tests which need to be done by ten weeks.

I know it's frustrating, but it's surprisingly normal to not be able to get a booking in appointment with the midwife until this late. Try not to worry about that.

They won't confirm the pregnancy either; they take your word for it which has always seemed odd to me!

Jodie6 · 20/02/2019 18:34

@Glitterandunicorns oh really? That's so strange because I've read up on the different scans and was trying to make sure I didn't miss anything. The NHS website was quite specific which is so misleading.

So what appointment should I have before my 12 week scan. Is it just the booking in scan which is the 1.5 hour appointment? Do they do blood tests and any other tests at that point?

It's awful because I was trying to push to get answers from my GP as to how/what to get booked in and they could tell me what the process was other than to tell me to wait until I'm 11 weeks when I meet the midwife. Everything you have said is way more informative.

I just presumed that they would confirm you are pregnant but it seems they just trust us - slight crazy I think.

sal1987 · 20/02/2019 19:00

@Jodie6 I rang the doctors yesterday and I don't actually see the midwife until 12 weeks. I get a phone call between 8-10 weeks and then book an appointment. I assume then I will see her the same time as the scan!
It is so frustrating that you don't see them before unless there is a problem but guess it's something that just has to be accepted.

DaddysGirl36 · 20/02/2019 19:03

Hi all. Dipping my toe in.

Almost 7 weeks
Due 10 October by my LMP
Have a DS who is 11 months
Crippling nausea - first day on Cyclizine today but it's the worst I've felt so far Confused

Glitterandunicorns · 20/02/2019 19:06

@Jodie6 you'll just have the booking in appointment before the 12 week scan. They do blood tests for various things like HIV, sickle cell anaemia etc and they take a urine sample too.

I just had a look at the NHS website myself and can't see where it says you have to have tests done before ten weeks? The only information I could see on there said between 8 and 12 weeks. Either way, don't fret! You'll have them done in time.

Best of luck for a healthy pregnancy! Thanks

welshgirl1980 · 20/02/2019 19:59

@Jodie6 I must be one of the lucky ones as I phoned my GP on Monday and got my first booking in appointment with the midwife a week today when I will be 7+3. I think it all depends on the area you live in and your gp's way of doing things.

Lisalou88 · 20/02/2019 20:11

Hi congrats to everyone. I am currently around 6+3, due date around 13th Oct I think. Had an early scan today due to being extremely anxious after 2 losses last year and also been having some brown spotting for the last week but so happy that we saw a heartbeat and measuring 6+4. Such a worrying time but the symptoms are reassuring as I have been so feeling ill 🤢😴

Jodie6 · 20/02/2019 20:53

@Lisalou88 hey, I am the same as you 6+3 and due 13 October.

Just to be sure everything is good I've just booked an early scan for tomorrow so hoping to get confirmation that everything is ok.

GinMama1 · 20/02/2019 21:20

@Jodie6 yeah it's really weird, they don't check. Even when you see the midwife they don't do a test or anything!

Last time I had my booking in at 10 weeks. I saw a midwife, they took loads of details, I think some blood tests, and told me how stuff worked. Then I had a scan 2 weeks later.

I'm in a different hospital now so it may not be the same. I self-referred last night so waiting to hear.

MummyHenman2be · 20/02/2019 21:28

@birchwoods thank you!! It seems I've totally forgotten how to use Mumsnet since having my first! How do I DM?

@IcyToes please could you add me to the Facebook group? Let me know how to message you.

Feeling pretty eugh today and quite sick at times! Off to bed before little one wakes up multiple times! Haha!

Oj11 · 20/02/2019 21:35

I'm also due in October 2019. This is my third pregancy. I have a 7 year old son and unfortunately 1 miscarriage in 2016.

Currently having lots of naps, weeing a tone, stretches and nipping in the abdomen and dizziness. This is more than I had in my other pregnancies.

Nextchapter19 · 20/02/2019 21:42

So met my best friend for dinner. We have been best friends for 23 years. I sat down, ordered a soft drink, asked for no sour cream with my dish, to which she smiled, started crying and said I just knew it. You’re pregnant. I can tell. I had a feeling. So there goes my big secret!!!!! She was so happy :)

CZFR · 20/02/2019 21:55

Awww @Nextchapter19! At least now you have a friend to get excited with about it 😊😊 xx

GinMama1 · 20/02/2019 22:04

Aww @Nextchapter19 that's lovely. I told my friends at a similar time last time because I didn't want wine with dinner!

GinMama1 · 20/02/2019 22:06

Also @Nextchapter19 why no sour cream?

Nextchapter19 · 20/02/2019 22:09

Yes its so nice actually to share it with her now! She is sworn to secrecy!!!! Funny how your close friends know you so well. Im so glad to be home mind. My skinny jeans are making me feel like a sausage in a skin at the moment! Feels so good to get my pjs on. Every evening now I’m on my own ‘free the nipple’ campaign. Ouch.

Nextchapter19 · 20/02/2019 22:11

@Ginmama1 I wasn’t sure I could have it, but probably can?!!!!

GinMama1 · 20/02/2019 22:23

@Nextchapter19 I tend to stick to the NHS guidelines but I can't see any reason why sour cream would be an issue!
