Hello. I thought I'd start a thread for anyone that has had the good news that they are due October 2019. We can go through these looong early weeks together.

I'm 33, first pregnancy
Cycle 6
Currently cycle day 21/12 doo. First BFP at 10 dpo.

I am now testing daily to see if my BFPs are getting stronger. Also still checking temps. Anyone else feel like they have to tip toe around at this stage as everything seems so fragile?

@Positivity86 - ah yes thanks for the advice! I don’t think I have OHSS then thank god - it’s probably down to all the food I’ve been troughing!! When is your seven week scan? X

welshgirl1980 · 18/02/2019 18:21

@klanger19 thanks yes was very stressful, I've got a private scan booked in for Saturday which we've decided to still go to then we are going to stop at a nice pub for lunch on the way home to celebrate Smile

Nextchapter19 · 18/02/2019 18:47

@welshgirl1989 sounds super stressful. So pleased the scan went well. It is such an anxious time! Look after yourself :)

Nextchapter19 · 18/02/2019 18:48

Sorry @welshgirl1980 !

Positivity86 · 18/02/2019 20:18

@Saltisford oh that's good 😊 I'll be 7+6 when I have my scan which is on 12 March. 3 weeks to go!

Frizzy1986 · 18/02/2019 21:31

@welshgirl1989 that's good news.
Welcome to all the newbies.

I've been a bit awol for a few days as my parents have been visiting which is lovely.
We told them about our news as when we were expecting dd almost 6 years ago I only got to tell them on the phone.
I think I'm about 7+2 today and am feeling almost constant nausea. Its rubbish but just hope it means that things are still happening in there. We have our private scan on Thursday which is exciting. I'm nervous but think if it is bad news then at least we'll know.
We got one booked through Groupon so it's only cost £29 which is a bloody bargain!!
I can't do my jeans up anymore and now use a hair tie to loop across the button. I get in my Pjs as soon as I can due to the elasticated waistband. Not sure what I'm going to wear for the next few weeks. Think I'll have to buy a cheap pair in the next size up.
My mum keeps joking it's twins (as she is one) but it's just because when I feel like eating it's carbs.
Have been getting a few sharp cramps over the past few says but hopefully it's nothing to be concerned about.

Frizzy1986 · 18/02/2019 21:32

Ahhh that should've been @welshgirl1980

WhiteVixen · 19/02/2019 08:53

Anyone else got a constant feeling of having something stuck at the back of their throat? It’s driving me mad 😂

Don’t know if it’s pregnancy related or not. But I don’t normally have it.

LauraPalmersBodybag · 19/02/2019 08:59

Hey, can I join please?

I got my bfp yesterday, af due tomorrow but I had a strong feeling I was pregnant so did an early test. DD 28 October!

I’m just about to turn 33 - my birthday is next week, and we were trying for 6 cycles. I have a daughter who turned 3 in January and so now I’m just hoping this sticks!

flowersaremyfave · 19/02/2019 09:35

Congratulations @LauraPalmersBodybag

HarryPottersSecretSister · 19/02/2019 09:43

Kdd1980 thanks so much for that. It's really reassuring - I know there's no way of telling how each of our bodies will definitely react through pregnancy but after reading horror stories about pregnancy induced flares (I've promised myself that I'm staying away from google from now on), your story really gives me some hope and reassurance that I might be one of the lucky ones and as things are currently under control for me, they might just continue to be kept under control.

I'm genuinely delighted to hear you're doing well and are in full remission and I hope that continues for you forever!

Welshgirl1980 how scary for you! am so pleased everything is ok.

LauraPalmersBodyBag welcome and huge congratulations! I think I'm due on the 25th so just the 3 days between us. Wishing you a healthy and happy 8ish months :)

HarryPottersSecretSister · 19/02/2019 09:45

brandyberry sweets! those glucose barley sweets and werthers originals (sucking on them constantly) got me through awful sickness in my last pregnancy with my dd.
Also - parma violets! (loads of others in my ante natal group back then swore by them)

Hope you feel much better soon

brandyberry · 19/02/2019 10:40

HarryPottersSecretSister (fab name!) thank you! I’ll definitely be giving all of that a go. I’m on half term at the moment (teacher) but already worrying about how I’ll cope in lessons when we go back. I’ll have stacks of biscuits and sweets in my desk.

I hope your IBD stays under control and you don’t have any nasty flares. My BFF was newly diagnosed with UC not long before conceiving her beautiful dd. She pushed for the doctors to trial any new medication that would make her pregnancy easier, and they obliged - so if need be, be forceful!

sal1987 · 19/02/2019 11:19

@brandyberry I too am a teacher on half term. I work with SEN kids and some can be aggressive so trying to decide what's the best course of action of who to tell as I have TA's and also SLT for extra support. I don't really want to tell anyone but feel like I don't have much of a choice and don't know how I'm going to hide the nausea when I get it!

Rang the doctors this morning who said I will get a call from the midwife at 8-10 weeks, I then won't actually see her until 12!! I feel like it's a little strange but guess it's the norm for my doctors.

Congratulation @LauraPalmersBodybag, exciting times.

brandyberry · 19/02/2019 11:38

@sal1987 I told my HOD when I found out, but mainly because my husband was on holiday and I needed somebody to talk me out of my panic. I’m telling the head when we return because I’d rather have her support should I need it. With your particular environment, I’d be letting your TAs and head know ASAP in case the kids get aggressive and they need to step in for you. Good luck!

I’m seeing the midwife for our booking in appt on March 7th, when I’ll be 8+6.

Nextchapter19 · 19/02/2019 12:07

@brandyberry @sal1987 also a teacher on half term here! I am so tired all I want to do is lay on the sofa and watch tv, but have a busy week planned.I haven't told school yet. Will be 6+ 4 when we go back on Monday but I didn't want to tell them until 12 weeks!

LauraPalmersBodybag · 19/02/2019 12:08

Thank you @HarryPottersSecretSister @sal1987 and @flowersaremyfave I’m trying to remember when symptoms set in last time. I guess I must have been 6 or so weeks. When did yours begin? Just that anxious wait now to hope I get to 6 weeks, and then 8 and then 12 🤞🏻

Enjoy your half term - hope the sun is shining for you!

Tora4 · 19/02/2019 12:08

@sal1987 I also work with SEN students and I am really unsure what to do. I'm currently not able to work or be with the challenging students due to a current injury... I am wondering how long I can hide behind it before having to tell someone.

It's hard in this situation as I really don't want to tell anyone but my admin lady has a 6th sense and is likely to notice.

Frizzy1986 · 19/02/2019 12:19

Argh, I've started having some spotting today. Hoping it's just because I was carrying dd around yesterday when out for the day and it doesn't last long.
Having some slight cramps low down too which are sharp and different from before. I had some spotting last time but still freaking out.
Guess there's nothing I can do about it anyway and we have a private scan in 2 days so at least we might know more then.

Secretlifeofme · 19/02/2019 12:53

@Frizzy1986 try not to worry. It can be normal in the early stages. How far along are you?

flowersaremyfave · 19/02/2019 12:59

@LauraPalmersBodybag with my last 2 it started at 6 weeks and lasted until 16w. With my older 3 I didn't get any ms. Hoping and praying I don't get it this time around 🙈

HarryPottersSecretSister · 19/02/2019 13:02

brandyberry thanks so much - these stories of success are really calming me. I genuinely used to suffer panic attacks at the thought of a flare commencing. I've no reason to believe one is about to start as I'm so well so all positive tales are just lovely.

Aargh very difficult as a teacher!! I hope you don't suffer too much. I'm extremely lucky as I work on my own in my own office so its very easy for me to shut the door and hide.

Frizzy I've been reading SO much lately (what to expect daily emails and app) about how common spotting is early on (hadnt realised it was so common). Try not to worry but yes - thats very easy for me to say to you. I'm glad you have a scan booked for so soon.

faelavie · 19/02/2019 13:16

Big hugs to anyone currently suffering with that awful nausea..... I'm now at 6 weeks and the nausea only started a couple of days ago, I thought I'd got away with it. Finding it very hard to force food down. DH has a shopping list of plain foods to get for me today!

I've got food aversions like crazy, there's almost nothing I fancy eating!

Frizzy1986 · 19/02/2019 13:17

I'm 7+3 today and I think I had some spotting around 6-7 weeks with dd. Just trying to stay clam as you can't change anything. Thankfully my folks are visiting so I'm taking the chance to have a bit of a rest and relax and not stress myself out.

Secretlifeofme · 19/02/2019 13:28

Thinking of you Frizzy, as you say try to relax and wait for the scan SmileFlowers
