39 weeks today and I'm so ready to have this baby now.

I've been quite lucky in that I've had an easy enough pregnancy (morning sickness manageable, if a bit pants; no aches and pains until about 30 weeks etc.) so thank my lucky stars for that, but these past couple of weeks, I'm just done.

Can't remember the last good night's sleep I had, hips hurt so much. Turning over in bed requires the same effort as moving a small family of hippos, and my back frequently feels like it's breaking.

I've had no noticeable signs of labour starting any time soon, which is getting to me, as my induction date at 41 weeks looms ever closer for a predicted 9.9lb baby.

And now the festive period is over, I'm bored on my maternity leave. Everything is done in the house and I am forcing myself out and about so I don't just sit and eat. Plus, I have a DH (who is lovely btw) whose clearly having a moment of 'holy shit, I'm having in baby in 2 weeks or less' and a MIL (who is equally lovely) who won't let me so much as pick up a feather.

Sorry for the rant- there's no point to it. And breathe.

Congratulations MagicalCreatures! Hope you get a bit of rest today.
I’m in and on the monitor. Think it’s going to be a long and boring day.

Sexnotgender · 07/01/2019 09:02

AimseyR · 07/01/2019 09:54

@magicalcreatures congratulations on your new little family Flowers Sounds like everything suddenly progressed, really brought a few tears to my eyes reading your message after how you were feeling the other day. Well done you, take care and enjoy xx

le42 · 07/01/2019 10:01

Congratulations!!! So happy for you!

Good luck for your induction @soydora will be thinking of you!

MagicalCreatures · 07/01/2019 12:49

@SoyDora I really hope it goes quick for you Hun. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks everyone. I’m so in love with him. I hope the rest of you get yours soon too.

Here’s my little treasure x

m4rdybum · 07/01/2019 12:54

What a gorgeous little pudding, MagicalCreatures!

Well, I have been railroaded into going to the MOAU today for monitoring after mentioning that the pattern of my movements has changed, by my MIL (a retired midwife). I am 100% certain everything is fine but there was no stopping her and MOAU were very good, and told me to come in for a quick check at 2.30pm.

@MagicalCreatures oh my gosh he's beautiful! I can't wait to get mine 💕

I hope you're doing okay @SoyDora and @m4rdybum 😊 x

Curlypop · 07/01/2019 14:54

Aww @MagicalCreatures he's beautiful.
I've just had a sweeep and cervix is soft and am 1-2 cm. hope this is a good sign

peaches1991 · 07/01/2019 15:05

He's adorable @MagicalCreatures

Just had a sweep, she said I was 1cm dilated and she could feel baby's head. She wanted to book me in for an induction but I declined, but I have to go in for a discussion at 40+10. Fingers crossed I don't get to that - got another sweep booked for Thursday.

m4rdybum · 07/01/2019 15:41

Sounds promising for you both @Curlypop and @peaches1991 - hopefully you'll progress before induction! I'm counting down to my sweep on Monday now.

Got back from the MOAU and trace monitoring was perfect - in fact, LO was wriggling away like never before while I had the straps on. MIL means well but honestly she has stressed me out so much today that I was trying not to cry in the car and just want my DH (who was at work). She can be quite forceful sometimes and doesn't listen once she gets a worry in her head - then tries to make everyone else worry with her.

I'm not a crier so I'm putting my reaction down to hormones. Going to have a nice bath before DH get a home (my second of the day) and try to relax.

@m4rdybum that sounds so stressful not what you need at this stage. I hope you can have a peaceful evening away from your MIL.

Jaxtellerswife · 07/01/2019 19:52

I'm only 30 weeks but routing for you all and sending labour wishes!
Beautiful baby pp, congratulations ThanksThanks

AimseyR · 08/01/2019 08:27

Hey, how is everyone doing? It's all gone quiet on here, so hoping that's good news and some of you are progressing? It's my due date tomorrow (1st baby) but I've been convinced I'll be late from quite early on so not getting too stressed or hung up on the date yet!

peaches1991 · 08/01/2019 08:28

Still feel really sore after my sweep yesterday, has any one else had this? I knew it would be uncomfortable but I'm wondering if my MW did it when she shouldn't have? Feel like this baby is never going to come out Sad

@Curlypop how are you getting on?

SadCupcake · 08/01/2019 08:39

@AimseyR Nothing from me. 41 weeks today with first baby. I've convinced myself that this baby is going to stay inside until he's 30 and he'll come out with a briefcase and a degree

@peaches1991 Don't worry, I felt so so sore after my sweep. I felt bruised from my thighs to my waist!! I thought it would kickstart something but sadly... nope.

How's everyone feeling??Thanks

SoyDora · 08/01/2019 08:48

2nd day of induction after being sent home last night and still nothing happening. Cervix is even less dilated than yesterday. Honestly i could cry. I haven’t slept a wink in 2 nights, I’m exhausted and fed up and upset.

Curlypop · 08/01/2019 09:01

I feel fine after the sweep @peaches1991 not even a twinge unfortunately.
Try and sit comfy today. Hope labour starts for us all!

le42 · 08/01/2019 09:17

@soydora oh how frustrating for you!!!! Your baby is just so comfy they don’t want to come out! I’ll keep thinking of you today and sending “hurry the heck up” vibes

peaches1991 · 08/01/2019 09:18

@SoyDora sorry you're having such a rough time. Hope today is more successful for you Thanks

AimseyR · 08/01/2019 09:21

Ah @SadCupcake bet it will all just suddenly happen... remember PocketFullofMumbles went from nothing one night to baby the next morning at 41+2.

@SoyDora big hug to you, didn't realise a cervix could indicate apart from after birth. Are you back in hospital now? I know it must be so difficult when all you want is your baby, but if you're not in pain is there any way you can enjoy putting your feet up? Probably the most chance we'll all get for the next 18 years!!

Had kind of made up my mind I won't accept a sweep today from my midwife, but sounds like @SadCupcake and @peaches1991 you didn't have a good experience, esp if it didn't work either!

Let's keep talking and hopefully hearing of more babies soon x

AimseyR · 08/01/2019 09:22

That was meant to be undilate, not indicate!

SadCupcake · 08/01/2019 09:27

@SoyDora oh lovely I'm so sorry, what did they try first? Pessary or drip? I've got to ring up tomorrow to see if I could go in for induction for pessary, if that doesn't work then water breaking and then drip.. don't wanna let it get to the drip part! I'm still clinging to my water birth plan 😭
Hope something happens today for you!

@AimseyR that's what I'm hoping will happen.. I'm praying haha!
I was just frustrated that midwife removed plug, stretched cervix out and still nothing! Ended up being achy all over for nothing!

SoyDora · 08/01/2019 09:33

I’m on my second pessary, the first fell out this morning when I went to the toilet.
I thought the same AimseyR but I was 2-3cm yesterday and am 1cm today! It’s my third baby so 1cm is basically just it’s ‘normal’ state as they don’t tend to close fully after childbirth.
Struggling to relax as im stressing about my older 2, my mum is off work today but will have to go back tomorrow so childcare is an issue for my three year old, plus getting my 5 year old to school etc. Also I’m in an assessment ward with loads of other people coming and going.
I have another 9 hours with the pessary now before they progress to the drip.
