39 weeks today and I'm so ready to have this baby now.

I've been quite lucky in that I've had an easy enough pregnancy (morning sickness manageable, if a bit pants; no aches and pains until about 30 weeks etc.) so thank my lucky stars for that, but these past couple of weeks, I'm just done.

Can't remember the last good night's sleep I had, hips hurt so much. Turning over in bed requires the same effort as moving a small family of hippos, and my back frequently feels like it's breaking.

I've had no noticeable signs of labour starting any time soon, which is getting to me, as my induction date at 41 weeks looms ever closer for a predicted 9.9lb baby.

And now the festive period is over, I'm bored on my maternity leave. Everything is done in the house and I am forcing myself out and about so I don't just sit and eat. Plus, I have a DH (who is lovely btw) whose clearly having a moment of 'holy shit, I'm having in baby in 2 weeks or less' and a MIL (who is equally lovely) who won't let me so much as pick up a feather.

Sorry for the rant- there's no point to it. And breathe.

Congratulations m4rdybum! Amazing.
All mine have fed from about 10 mins after birth for a solid couple of hours too. They couldn’t weigh him for a few hours this time as he wouldn’t let go of my nipple!

Congratulations m4rdybum!

Curlypop · 14/01/2019 09:37

Congratulations @m4rdybum so pleased for you. I'm counting down to my induction.
Had a sweep last night and had bloody show. I was 0.5 long and 2cm dialited so hopefully induction will be ok

Aww congratulations @m4rdybum, I hope you'll be able to go home soon and get some much needed rest. Seen as though your hubby is having a sleep now, he can take the first shift when you get home!

My baby has decided to stay in for another 9 months I think 🙄

Congratulations @m4rdybum! Hope you've got some sleep today.

40+9 today, meeting the consultant tomorrow to discuss options, I'm hoping that there might be some chance of going for an induction and still using the birthing centre.

@m4rdybum woooohoooo congratulations!!!

I’ve been in twice over the weekend as my heart rate has just been crazy high... was so worried the baby was stressed but he seems fine. I have an appointment tomorrow with a consultant about possible elective c section, not really sure what to expect but we don’t have very much time - I’m 39 weeks on Thursday.

Spd is so bad I barely ever leave the house now, I’ve never missed walking so much!

My baby girl was born yesterday morning after a 6hr drug free labour. I'm in love 😍

m4rdybum · 16/01/2019 06:31

Congratulations @Curlypop!

Did you manage without even gas and air? Shock Hope you're enjoying some new born snuggles (I currently am!).

My little boy arrived yesterday in the early hours, obviously scared out by being booked in for induction yesterday. Total labour of 1hour 50 minutes (and 20 minutes of that was because he had the cord round his neck and was stuck). All too fast and bloody painful but at least he’s here safely at last. He was a full pound heavier than my others and is very hungry, I haven’t slept because he’s permanently attached to my (now very tender) boobs. Hopefully milk will come in soon

SoyDora · 23/01/2019 10:43

Congratulations Rebah! Mine was attached for the first 48 hours too, it was exhausting. Hopefully it improves soon for you!
