39 weeks today and I'm so ready to have this baby now.

I've been quite lucky in that I've had an easy enough pregnancy (morning sickness manageable, if a bit pants; no aches and pains until about 30 weeks etc.) so thank my lucky stars for that, but these past couple of weeks, I'm just done.

Can't remember the last good night's sleep I had, hips hurt so much. Turning over in bed requires the same effort as moving a small family of hippos, and my back frequently feels like it's breaking.

I've had no noticeable signs of labour starting any time soon, which is getting to me, as my induction date at 41 weeks looms ever closer for a predicted 9.9lb baby.

And now the festive period is over, I'm bored on my maternity leave. Everything is done in the house and I am forcing myself out and about so I don't just sit and eat. Plus, I have a DH (who is lovely btw) whose clearly having a moment of 'holy shit, I'm having in baby in 2 weeks or less' and a MIL (who is equally lovely) who won't let me so much as pick up a feather.

Sorry for the rant- there's no point to it. And breathe.

Oops I meant PocketFullofMumbles there

MagicalCreatures · 04/01/2019 14:25

@SoyDora there’s a fair few of us that keep popping up on these threads that are still going strong.
All due the same sort of time. I wonder which of us will be the next to pop 😂
I get really annoyed now when I hear of people who were due after me saying ‘here’s my baby, 2 weeks early’ 😂 I’m like ‘noooooooo, I was meant to be next!!!!’

PocketFullofMumbles · 04/01/2019 14:45

@MagicalCreatures I remember you from a thread before Christmas! So sorry you’re still waiting.

Have the messages asking for updates slowed down now?! I’ve started to get very curt with friends requesting ‘updates’ - literally no updates, guys...

SoyDora · 04/01/2019 14:47

I’ve blocked my in laws from Facebook messenger and WhatsApp because I can’t cope with the constant messages Blush. So they emailed instead!

SoyDora · 04/01/2019 14:47

Do people think we’ll forget to tell them when the baby is born?!

PocketFullofMumbles · 04/01/2019 14:54

Worse than that, my MiL stayed with us for two weeks to help us settle in to the new house - so EVERY twinge elicited a ‘ooh, is the baby coming?’ 😂

Have sent her back home now, with profuse thanks for all her help... aaand am now ignoring WhatsApp like you @SoyDora!

SoyDora · 04/01/2019 14:55

Mine arrive from abroad next week PocketFullofMumbles. They wanted to come for a month over my due date but I put my foot down! At this rate they’ll arrive before the baby is born, which is why I told them not to book their flights until the baby was here 🙄

Curlypop · 04/01/2019 15:45

I've drinking. Raspberry leaf tea. Bouncing on the ball. Walking lots and having sex. Anyone else trying to get labour going? Any tips?!

PocketFullofMumbles · 04/01/2019 16:22

@Curlypop I’ve done all that, plus eaten curry and pineapple and inhaling clary sage. Have now stopped everything and just going with the flow Smile

Something must be working though, I fell asleep for a random 3 hours today and woke up having a show. Think that has to be good at 41 weeks!

MagicalCreatures · 04/01/2019 16:39

Haha yes I’m all over these threads.
And like you all, I cannot people believe really do think my baby is going to be a month old before I tell them that he’s here.

Well I’ve just had my second sweep. Apparently my cervix has a Bishop score of 9-10. I’m nearly 3cm dilated and my midwife thinks there is no reason why I shouldn’t go into labour within the next day. She can’t believe I’m not already in full swing.
I on the other hand am not getting my hopes up because I feel like I’ve been in slow labour for 3 weeks and I have got used to the idea that this baby is never coming out and doesn’t actually exist.
Maybe he is a figment if my imagination 😮

Currently making my third cup of raspberry leaf tea today. To be honest, I think the only thing it's been doing is giving me the runs a dodgy belly.

I've also had a big pot of pineapple and went for a walk for an hour.

I really can't be bothered with sex (sorry DH) but think I'm gonna have to get lusty in this last week. Just something about being the size of a small caravan that doesn't really scream "Sex Goddess" Grin

Argh I’m envious of you both PocketFullofMumbles and MagicalCreatures! Unsuccessful sweep yesterday at 41 weeks, no show, no nothing!

Ragaroo · 04/01/2019 16:57

With DS1 ate ate a whole pineapple within a 24 hour period and my waters went. This was at 41+4 weeks. Why not give it a go?! Has to be fresh pineapple apparently, not tinned.

SoyDora · 04/01/2019 17:06

I’ve tried everything Grin. Fresh pineapple, curry, sex, raspberry leaf tea... I know he’ll come when he’s ready, it’s just hard explaining to a 5 and a 3 year old that mummy is too bloody fat and uncomfortable to do anything fun with them over the Christmas holidays 😩.

harrypotterfan1604 · 04/01/2019 17:09

I’m sat eating pineapple while bouncing on my ball as we speak !

Curlypop · 04/01/2019 17:19

Ah pineapple- will get some tomorrow! I have clary sage in the mist diffuser but that's done nowt!

harrypotterfan1604 · 04/01/2019 17:20

Sex is next on my list 😂

m4rdybum · 04/01/2019 17:53

Is that the oil you can massage on as well? Thought about it - but does it stink?

OP posts:
PocketFullofMumbles · 04/01/2019 18:05

@m4rdybum you can massage it on, but it needs to be diluted in something, even olive oil, as it’s really strong. I quite like the smell but others don’t!

A note of caution on pineapple- I ate a whole fridge pack on NYE and burnt my mouth Blush apparently it’s citrusy...who knew?!

PocketFullofMumbles · 04/01/2019 18:06

@MagicalCreatures, the Bishops Score sounds super positive in my limited knowledge. Fingers crossed for some labouring action tonight!

harrypotterfan1604 · 05/01/2019 09:35

So the postman just came as I’m ferousciously bouncing on my ball in plain view gotta say he looked rather amused 😂

skyfullofstars · 05/01/2019 09:40

@m4ardybum if you have worries about reduced feral movements especially after due date you should go to the hospital for a check up and ctg

Curlypop · 05/01/2019 15:25

Everyone still pregnant?!

m4rdybum · 05/01/2019 15:36

@skyfullofstars Thankfully, whenever I start to worry about movements, she wriggle like it's nobodies business Grin

@Curlypop still pregnant here! I did have a moment where I thought something was happening this morning. Had a big period pain which lasted about a minute when I woke up and was quite uncomdortable, but alas no more followed.

On the plus side, I've done two loads of washing, swept, done the food shop and washed the windows - I could get used to nesting.

Yes. 41+2 and very very grumpy. My mucous plug is starting to come away I think but only in small amounts.
Well and truly fed up now.
