Hi, I'm on my forth pregnancy and am trying to decide on a girls name. What does everyone think of the name Beau for a girl? This is the only name that me and DH can agree on and I'm just wondering what other peoples opinions are. Thanks.

i would say it's a boy's name - sorry.

LynetteScavo · 24/06/2007 23:23

Personally, I wouldn't choose it, but don't worry about what others think! If you both like it, use it.

PrincessButtercup · 24/06/2007 23:24

Gorgeous name but definitely a boy's name, I agree.

emmared1980 · 24/06/2007 23:25

That was a quick reply! Thanks, although not what I wanted to hear.

My friend has a girl called beau & it suits her as she's beautiful

ProjectIcarus · 24/06/2007 23:26

it is a boys name. Melanie and Ashleys son I think in Gone with the Wind.

agree that it is a lovely name but i feel for kids who are given opposite gender names and have to explain on forms etc, "actually, i'm a girl.."

having said that, if it's good enough for cameron diaz..

i think ulrika jonnson has a little girl with the name "Bo" if that's any good to you.

Sixer · 24/06/2007 23:31

Oh Oh I've just had the fantastic news of another baby girl in the family. I stopped, .....thought.... then thought no.. I like it.. Quinn.. is her name. I really like it, ok so she is Canandian, but still, Quinn, Cute, I really like it. just an idea thats all.

I once went out with a boy called Shannon

These were in the days when you met in a nightclub, snogged them, got their number & then asked who you would ask for on the phone.

It's a lovely name, but more for a girl

Beau means handsome (male) in french I believe. I know a Beau - def. a boy.

Sixer · 24/06/2007 23:34

Oh Oh we have a Shannon as well.

melpomene · 24/06/2007 23:35

fireflyfairy2 · 24/06/2007 23:37

Devonshire · 24/06/2007 23:37

emmared1980 · 24/06/2007 23:38

ROFL< can also be spelt as Cathaor

[pronounced Kaherr]

I re-read it & it looks like cat hair

Sixer · 24/06/2007 23:39

Bonita, Bonny, Nita..... Chances of being called the beautiful name of Bonita.... No chance in this day an age.

emmared1980 · 24/06/2007 23:40

Know a Bonita aswell! Although she's in her 30's. It is a pretty name though.

Isn't Quinn sweet. What is your background, family surnames, christian names, we have always come to our family names some where or other through family names. Whether they are surnames or christian, or even a mixer. I think it's nice. History 'an all that'.

fireflyfairy2 · 24/06/2007 23:46

I would have loved to call my dd after both her great grandparents.

One was called Sara & the other Helena.

I liked Sara as a first name, but then dh said Sara Helena together it sounded like Semolina

So she has a totally different name, named after nobody!
