New thread, perhaps might be useful to all post an update of history and where we're at now?

Car booked in for under floor fillers next week! Pram wise, we live in the country, so need decent wheels for walking though I love a trip round town too. I need to drive pretty much everywhere I go. I have a 4x4 so boot size isn't an issue but height to lift pram in to boot is. So much to think about! Spoke to my boss yesterday. He's agreed to let me finish at 33 weeks. Will take 4 weeks AL then start mat leave at 37 weeks.
Sending a hand hold and hugs @Miami. You're so close to having your beautiful wee girl in your arms ❤ xxx

Hi ladies,

Just made a post-natal group for us to migrate to. Looking forward to seeing you all there but will obviously still check in here regularly too to see how you're getting on.

@Foxtrot you are very welcome to join. There's no limit on the age of the babies! Parenting after pregnancy loss has its own unique emotional strains and I'm sure you'd be able to offer some great advice!

@Miami I'm afraid I've no advice on the section but DD arrived at 37+6 and it very nearly ended in a EMCS and she wouldn't have had steroids. Is baby still transverse?

OP posts:
Paranormalbouquet · 21/02/2019 08:54

@Miami81 I had section at 37 weeks and asked for steroids beforehand. There is a risk of adhd mentioned in a single study which didn’t separate out for the risks of prematurity. Another study has shown a definite risk of newborn breathing difficulties in babies born by elcs before 39 weeks.

I was keen to have the steroids.

Miami81 · 21/02/2019 09:34

Thanks guys.
@Paranormalbouquet I found that first study and
It seems pretty ropey to me. It doesn't seem to have a large enough study group to make it a valid thing.
The one about the breathing risks up to 39 wks seems much more researched and backed up.
My inclination is to go with the steroids. Not sure about hubby.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/02/2019 15:13

How is everyone doing this week? Have you got closer to a decision @miami81? Hope you’re holding up okay.

I’m on day one of maternity after a brilliant weekend, we had a one night baby moon in a hotel and a nice meal.

At a slight loose end as I keep thinking of things to do then getting shattered and achy in the bump but enjoying some quiet resting time. Waking up so much in the night and iron and ferritin both very low so not much energy. Taking ferrous sulphate tablets and hoping they help.

Started raspberry leaf tea and got some arnica pills to start soon though not sure when.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 25/02/2019 15:37

Enjoy the rest @Anne. Chill with your feet up, have a nice soak in the bath. You'll soon be kept busy! I'm 25 weeks today. On night shifts again and really struggling. Spoke to my manager about finishing at 33 weeks. I'm struggling so much with work already.

Miami81 · 25/02/2019 19:06

Hi @AnneLovesGilbert yep we decided to go with the steroids. On balance it seems much more sensible choice especially with our history. I don't think either of us would cope fantastically well with baby having to go to Nicu. Although we acknowledge that is always a possibility no matter what you do.
Glad you are enjoying mat leave.
I came home from hospital earlier and had a wee snooze. So nice.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/02/2019 19:15

That sounds like a good call miami. Are you agreeing to wait a week?

I’m not scheduled for anymore scans now, got consultant apt weds but just a chat. Are you having more now? Knowing your section date, what are you doing about your jabs? Sorry for so many questions!

Sorry you’re struggling hopeful SadFlowers I know we’re all incredibly grateful to be here but it’s still bloody hard work some days and I feel for you so much on your feet all the time and working shifts. Had anymore foot swelling or is it better now? And have you had any luck on a pram? How are your movements?

I had a dream about my waters breaking the other night and had a right old panic when I woke up about not being ready. I think when it comes down to it I’m not going to have a day when I feel properly ready so I’m not going to stress about it. Getting mad Braxton Hicks, does anyone know if they’re meant to gradually ramp up nearer the time? It’s been pretty constant today whether I’m up and moving or sitting still. Loads of really strong movements and bump tightening up loads.

Miami81 · 25/02/2019 19:42

Section on Wednesday @AnneLovesGilbert. Shitting myself totally.
I finished aspirin last Tuesday evening. So a week before section and then heparin continues until Tuesday morning.

Miami81 · 25/02/2019 19:43

I don't have any braxton hicks at all, so I'm
Afraid I can't help. Sorry

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/02/2019 19:46

This Wednesday?! Oh my god, I’ve totallt lost track of the days and thought it was being bumped a week, sorry love!

Blimey. I can’t imagine how you must be feeling but I’m super excited for you Smile

Sending hand holds, hugs, reassurance and lots of love to you and DH. You’re having a baby!!!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 26/02/2019 02:00

Swelling is just the same. There when not working and a million times worse when I am! Movements seem to have increased over past few days. Love feeling him/her move. Think we're going to go for the joolz day 3 pram. It's easy to fold and much lighter for me to lift than the mamas and papas we were looking at!
Oh wow! That's tomorrow @Miami! Must be such a strange feeling. Will be thinking of you xxx

Labmum · 26/02/2019 17:16

Wow! @Miami81 tomorrow you meet your baby girl. That's so exciting! Got everything crossed that it all goes well. Can't imagine you'll get much sleep tonight but try stay calm (ish). Looking forward to hearing from you once she's safely here. Huge hugs!

keeponrunning85 · 26/02/2019 18:29

I hope all goes smoothly tomorrow Miami. I'll be thinking of you. (And keeping everything crossable crossed.)

Paranormalbouquet · 26/02/2019 21:36

Miami good luck tomorrow, I (like everyone else here) will be thinking of you.

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/02/2019 22:54

Another one thinking of you tonight and tomorrow our wonderful incredibly brave strong miami. Sending ALL of the love and support through the ether and holding you and DH and baby close. We’ll be holding our breaths for good news of her safe arrival and hearing that you’re okay. I’m still a raging insomniac so around if you want a handhold in the night and will check in but hope you manage to get some sleep xxx

Hi girls. I managed quite a bit of sleep. At the hospital now, anaethisist has been in and the consultant. All looks on track to be done by lunch ish.
I just wanted to say thank you so much to all of you. It's been an emotional rollercoaster but I am so grateful for all your support through what has been the longest 37 weeks.
I will update hopefully later today or tomorrow.

beanhunter · 27/02/2019 11:10

Thinking of you @miami81

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/02/2019 15:20

Looking forward to good news miami Smile

Had my final appointment at the clinic today. My consultant’s away for a few weeks so he’s booked me in for induction at 41 weeks in case it hasn’t happened by then which I’m okay with. He left it up to me whether or not to try sweeps with the midwife in the meantime. Staying on aspirin and jabs till labour or day before induction. So we’ll see what happens...!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 27/02/2019 16:33

I was thinking my notification there was @Miami! Lol
Exciting @anne! I thought aspirin had to be stopped early. I'm sure I was told to stop mine at 34 or 36 weeks. Can't remember what they said. I'm midwife led care now unless something goes wrong.
