New thread, perhaps might be useful to all post an update of history and where we're at now?

I achieved the miraculous last night. Have persuaded OH to buy us a new bed and mattress, mattress we have isn’t actually that old but was bought out the back of a van by OH (against my better judgement) anyway, as suspected, three years down the line it turns out it’s total bull shit. Unsupportive, uncomfortable and feels like there’s a spring pressing into you every four inches. And don’t get me started on our bed!! Buy cheap, buy twice! The side of it has completely split so it’s currently being held up by a stool and glued together with a silage patch (it’s actually more for protection from splinters)

Anyway, I’m only 12+3 and already having quite a bit of back, hip and bum pain. Can only suspect that it’ll get worse as I go along and I’ve basically whinged him into submission. So we’ve got a new bed and a Leesa mattress coming soon! Yay!

looking4hope · 24/11/2018 21:53

Paranormalbouquet thank you! We're excited but still worrying (don't think it will ever stop...). Great you can finish work early, taking care of yourself is the priority right now. Hope you're feeling okay.

Iswallowtoothpaste Well done, having a good bed and mattress makes all the difference. Glad your OH is supportive and he's making up for the shitty comments he made last week. Enjoy your new bed and hope the mattress arrives quickly. Is your back a bit better? I still can't stand / walk for long periods of time.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and having relaxing weekends.

Quick question (TMI alert): has anyone had regular loose stools? I've been having one loose stool a day (some very loose) for the last week and I'm just worrying it's not okay since constipation used to be my normal before this. Such a worry wart Sad

CaptainUnderpants96 · 24/11/2018 22:20

@lookingforhope, very normal! I'm 25 weeks and have had loose stools on and off throughout my pregnancy. I worried too but my midwife assured me it was very normal. I tend to fluctuate between a few days of constipation, a couple of days of loose stools, and then constipation again! I just want a normal poop, dammit Grin

looking4hope · 24/11/2018 23:50

Thank you for the reassurance CaptainUnderpants96. (Side note: love your username!) Sorry you've been struggling as well, hope it will settle down for you. I really miss having a normal poop as well Smile (#56 on the list of things I thought I'd never say, ha ha)

Hopefulforourrainbow · 25/11/2018 07:38

Yes I have! Though I've been putting it down to the cyclogest.

whiteonesugar · 25/11/2018 09:27

I am 9+1 and getting myself into a tizz.

My boobs aren’t as sore anymore, they are still tender and heavy but defo not as painful as they have been. I’ve also had mild cramps the past couple of days which i haven’t really had much up til now.

I’m still feeling sick and tired so that’s good and trying not to freak out. I’ve got another week to my next scan and it’s playing on my mind.

I have recollections of lots of my symptoms easing off with DS around 9 weeks but it was 4 years ago now so I can’t be sure.

Argh. I hate the anxiety 😢

bellainthemiddle · 25/11/2018 10:22

Can I join? I'm currently 6 weeks, following a mc earlier in the year. DD (6) was conceived without any issues and by accident when DP and I were studying (I'd just started my Masters!). We've always intended for her to have siblings but put off so that I could finish my studies and get my career on tracks. Had planned to start trying this autumn, but it happened a shit earlier than that and I miscarried at 7 weeks.

I've had some light bleeding this week (my GP called it a "threatened miscarriage" which apparently may still mean that it's nothing concerning!) and have been laid up for the last few days with a horrendous stomach bug: d&v, cramps, cold sweats, the works! I'm basically in a massive panic and worried about the effect this is going to have on my pregnancy even if everything IS okay. So any reassurance/suggestions would be very very welcome!

looking4hope · 25/11/2018 12:25

whiteonesugar Please don't worry, all my symptoms (and I really mean all) disappeared at 9 weeks. After spending a few days worrying, I caved and booked a private scan. The baby was fine and the sonographer told me that most women book a scan at 9 weeks due to a loss of symptoms. Symptoms don't really mean much. Shortly after the scan, my nausea came back Smile I've also come to accept that pregnancy comes with all sorts of aches and pains, and cramps are normal. So please try to relax and take care of yourself.

bellainthemiddle Congratulations for the BFP! We've all been there and know how those first few weeks of worry consume you. From what I know, a bug really doesn't affect the baby so please don't worry. Just have plenty of rest, take it easy and rest assured that your baby is safe and comfy in there. Make sure you stay hydrated, that's one of the most important things. Eat little and often, and only food that is gentle on your stomach. If you do feel really unwell, don't hesitate to call the EPU or GP, they can advise. Hope you feel better soon.

looking4hope · 25/11/2018 17:30

I am freaking out Sad I've bad cramps on and off all day, but thought nothing of it as I've had cramps before. My discharge became very heavy and yellow yesterday and now it's pink, and the cramps are a bit stronger... I'm 14+2 and really panicked. I had a lot of pink spotting in my previous pregnancy that ended in a MC, so I'm finding it very hard to stay positive... I'm going to rest and monitor it, and if it continues go to MFAU in the morning. Can't believe this is happening to me after so many good scans.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 25/11/2018 18:26

@looking4hope, I had some pinkish, reddish bleeding at just shy of 12 weeks. I also had backache and cramps (the backache and cramps are what made me check for blood in the first instance)

Those 2 days waiting for the scan were possibly the longest and most excruciating of my life, especially after a MMC in June at 10+3 which started with the same sort of bleeding and cramps. Scan was fine though. I would ring your local EPU or your doctor/MW if it isn’t self referral. They should book you in for a scan ASAP with you being in your second tri.

I honesty hope you have a good outcome. I scoured the Internet after I’d had my bleed and found that most episodes around this stage had good outcomes.

Keeping everything crossed for you, it's so worrying!

looking4hope · 25/11/2018 20:11

Thank you Iswallowtoothpaste. The cramps and spotting continue, so I called the maternal assessment unit (deals with pregnant women who are 14 weeks or over) and the midwife told me to take 2 Paracetamol and monitor the situation for the next 2 hours. If I still feel unwell, I should call back. I'm so worried that I don't think I'll be able to sleep. I decided not to work tomorrow, need to take it easy. Such a rollercoaster Sad

whiteonesugar · 25/11/2018 21:05

@looking4hope thank you, by this evening my boobs are sore again, and I feel sick. So I’m reassured for now! Thank you for your advice my friend said she had it with both pregnancies at about 9 weeks too.

Hope you are ok and it turns out to be nothing xxx

Vuduvu · 25/11/2018 21:06

@looking4hope there are so many reasons for spotting and cramps in pregnancy, and with you having had a good 12 week scan I’m sure the most likely thing is something benign. I know it’s so scary though, and when you are worrying it’s all you can think about. Will the MAU see you this evening if it’s still going on?

@whiteonesugar my symptoms were really up and down all through the first trimester and I kept convincing myself they’d all gone and I must’ve miscarried. I really don’t think symptoms are a good guide at all!

@bellainthemiddle welcome and congrats. I had bleeding at 6 weeks (bright red and plenty of it) and all was fine!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 25/11/2018 21:58

Hope you’re ok @looking4hope. Thinking of you x

looking4hope · 25/11/2018 23:09

Vuduvu The midwife said that they're very busy tonight. I tried calling and nobody answered, so I guess that things are a bit crazy over there. I'll probably call again in the morning. Thank you for the message!

Iswallowtoothpaste thank you so much, means a lot. The spotting isn't so bad now but the cramps continue. The midwife mentioned growing pains, but these feel completely different than when my uterus stretches. I'll try to get some sleep and see how I feel in the morning. Why is it never easy?

AllTakenSoRubbishUsername · 25/11/2018 23:20

Ah what a lovely thread, lots of hope. Just to add a little bit from 'the other side', two lovely boys, 10 and 8, after ttc for 4 years and a few miscarriages (mostly early ones - 8 weeks ish) Son no 1 finally arrived with the help of a (first time!) IUI, another miscarriage afterwards then son no2 came along all by himself. Wishing you all fairy dust and please read this link about a product in cough syrup. I was pretty determined to conceive and tried this hack (drank loads of it!). Pretty sure it's why son no 2 is here now

Iswallowtoothpaste · 26/11/2018 13:34

Well I’ve just had another small bleed too. Not too worried but going to ring and see if they can bring my scan forward.

Paranormalbouquet · 26/11/2018 15:38

Looking and toothpaste I hope you both have answers soon. I’ve bled in both my successful pregnancies so far at various points- I had continuous spotting this pregnancy until 13 weeks and thereafter have had 5-6 small bleeds/spotting which have just been from cervical irritation.

Welcome to the new people! Hope you all can stay! Waves to Curly from TTC thread!

White symptoms come and go for me whether pregnancy is going well or not, cant trust in my opinion!

I’m almost done with work. Tidying up paperwork etc and handing over jobs. Had growth scan on Friday which is suddenly predicting a big baby- did this with my DD at this point and the prediction was entirely wrong so I’m not too concerned! Better than small anyway! Scanner noticed I was having braxton hicks so sent me for a trace. Lovely to see babies heartbeat looking healthy and happy!

looking4hope · 26/11/2018 16:23

Iswallowtoothpaste sorry it's happened again. Fingers crossed they can bring your scan forward and you can get reassured soon. The midwife I spoke to today just fobbed me off, although both the pain the spotting increased. She said they'd only see me if the bleeding is like a period. Really disappointed with how I'm treated Sad Just thought they'd be more helpful once you're past the first trimester.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 26/11/2018 16:34

@looking4hope I’m so sorry you’re bein fobbed off an treated like this! Could you bend the truth a little? I hate doing it but they should be assessing you! I was robbed offnlast pregnancy a few times and the worry was awful! I did try to post earlier asking how you were doing but it wouldn’t let me post for some reason!

I’ve been scanned and listened to HB on Doppler, all fine. Amazed they got me in so quickly!

looking4hope · 26/11/2018 16:48

Iswallowtoothpaste That's amazing news, so happy for you xx Did they do the measurements as well? I remember you saying they could't do them the last time.

Not sure what to do next, I might just show up tomorrow and say that I'm really worried, explain that I had a MC before etc. Maybe I'm lucky to find a more understanding midwife.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 26/11/2018 17:12

@looking4hope I’d definitely try again tomorrow. I was lucky to get an absolutely amazing MW this time but like you, haven’t been so lucky other times. It’s not fair that they’re doing this to you. Especially with your history.

Didn’t get the measurements as it was literally just a sneak peek for reassurance! I hope this reassures you a little bit too. I always find other positive stories hugely reassuring x thinking of you!

Paranormalbouquet · 27/11/2018 12:34

Looking they really should see you to reassure. I had a heavy bleed with my DD at 15/16 weeks (very heavy, soaked through clothes, quilt etc) and all was fine but it was terrifying.

TMI here but I’ve lost my mucus plug today. No contractions or rupture of membranes so hoping nothing happens before my planned c-section date now! Really don’t fancy another emergency section!

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/11/2018 13:03

Popping back in, will have a proper catch up later. Blimey para, how are you feeling? Do you need to let someone know?

I don't know anything about this stuff, can you grow another one..? Is there a risk to it being gone? Hope you're okay x

Paranormalbouquet · 27/11/2018 13:17

It can be lost and reform, or be a sign of things starting. So basically if just a plug with no contractions or waters breaking you keep an eye; if contractions start time to be seen!
