New thread, perhaps might be useful to all post an update of history and where we're at now?

Hope you and your baby are thriving miami and you’re feeling well. It’ll be wonderful all being able to go home Smile

How’s everyone else this week?

Hopefulforourrainbow · 01/03/2019 07:18

Hey I'm up visiting my family for a couple of days. Had so much movement yesterday, saw bump moving a lot and mum felt it too! Was lovely! Hope it continues! She said I was starting to look puffy which is a bit concerning. I have midwife again on 12th March. How are you doing @Anne? Was thinking about a what's app group. Be lovely to be able to share names of little ones and some pics.
Hope you're both doing well @Miami and get home soon

AnneLovesGilbert · 01/03/2019 08:47

Have a lovely visit hopeful! Seeing your bump move is amazing, so reassuring. I haven’t stopped marvelling at it, even when it’s like being stabbed by a tiny elbow (which it probably is!). My DSC love watching it and we’ve filmed it so the baby can see when it’s old enough Grin

How’s your blood pressure? Not long till midwife but see someone before if you’re worried.

All well here, really must must back my hospital bag today. Now we have an induction date booked in, albeit at 41 weeks and just in case, I’m trying to get my head in “please show up anytime, we’re ready” mode rather than “I’m not done being pregnant, there’s too much left to do” panic mode. I wanted a week to rest up and I’ve mostly had that now.

The kids aren’t mad on uncertainty and keep asking when it’s coming but all I keep saying is no one knows and we’ll all just have to wait and see.... Easy to say though! It’s a bit like ttc, if I fill next week with plans it might show up so I have to cancel them Grin

Hopefulforourrainbow · 06/03/2019 11:24

Hey hope you're all well. How are you and your precious little bundle @Miami?

Blood pressure hasn't been checked in a while. Have midwife on Tuesday though so it'll be checked then. I guess I could always check it at work tonight! We've ordered our pram! Ended up going for the joolz day 3. Easy to fold and not too heavy. They had a deal with a free maxi cosi car seat but might end up selling that if its not suitable for both cars. Need another mothercare trip which I've been putting off as I hate the place!
How are you doing @Anne? Getting very close for you now!

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/03/2019 13:20

Ooh exciting getting your pram hopeful! Did you see the piece on the bbc about new mums not lifting car seats out of cars for the first 6 weeks? So I think leave the seat in the car she just lift the baby to save hoiking too much weight around while things are still soft post birth. Was interesting.

How’s your puffiness? I’ve been lucky so far and only had chubby feet twice, both when eating out of an evening and then it’s gone with my legs up overnight. I’ve always had leg and foot puffiness when flying so was worried it was going to be chronic!

39 weeks today! Braxton Hicks all the time still and quite painful off and on in the evenings. Occasional cervix stabbing too. Booked a midwife apt for next week but hopefully won’t need it. Got acu on Friday, second pre labour session, you never know it might work!

Have you had anymore thoughts on when you’ll go on leave?

Hopefulforourrainbow · 06/03/2019 13:39

Still puffy feet, ankles and legs and rings are starting to feel uncomfortable now too. Yeah I did see that on BBC. Something I hadn't even thought of. Wow 39 weeks! I was 26 on Monday. Yeah planning on finishing at 33 weeks unless I need to finish sooner. Will see how I get on!

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/03/2019 14:09

You poor thing, hope it’s not too uncomfortable. Have you found you’re generally warmer than normal? I’ve spent my life cold with crap circulation, never sweating, wearing many layers to bed and freezing at my desk at work. DH is the opposite, always roasting! And since I’ve been pregnant this time it’s the opposite, he says he’s leant me his warmth to cook the baby and all I do is wear as little as possible, sweat constantly and try and keep my hair off my neck. He’s chilled to the bone and I’m always piling layers on him Grin

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/03/2019 14:13

Good plan on finishing at 33 weeks. I’d really worried about what I’d do all day and I’ll be honest, it’s come very easily Grin

There’s bugger all on tv but I’ve been napping, pampering, cooking, reading, sorting baby stuff, people have been popping in, DH has worked from home a bit and it’s been awesome. It’s the golden window between work and the baby arriving and I’m enjoying it immensely. Bored? Not a chance. Aching, yep...

Have you got anymore scans?

Hopefulforourrainbow · 06/03/2019 14:36

Yeah I'm usually hot through the night anyway but even more so now! Work is so hot too!
Yep, growth scan on 19th March. Cant wait to see baby again!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 14/03/2019 09:51

Hey hows everyone doing? I'm 27 weeks now. In for a glucose tolerance test just now. Really hoping I don't have diabetes! Hope you're all well. Hows baby @Miami?

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/03/2019 11:27

27 weeks! Does it feel like it’s starting to speed up yet hopeful? How are you feeling? Good luck with GTT, hope it’s clear.

I’m 40+1 and getting a bit jittery tbh. Barely sleeping at night and becoming nocturnal, period pain and lower back ache for several days and some stop start contractions but no pattern at all and nothing much yesterday. Midwife check up later. Going to ask for an exam but no sweep, I think....

Induction booked for next weds and really really want to avoid that but also don’t have a clue whether stuff is trying to happen, albeit very very slowly. Gah.

I don’t want to wish this time away but I’m stressing more about movements, for no reason at all as they’re strong and frequent, because I just need to know it’s okay in there and it’s not going to go wrong at this late stage. Torn between it’ll come when it’s ready and why rush things and I just want it out so I can SEE it’s okay and DH will be jointly responsible for keeping it okay Grin

beanhunter · 14/03/2019 13:19

Exciting Anne!
35+1 here and ready to be done with work and pregnancy

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/03/2019 13:31

When do you finish up bean? You’ve had an unbelievably tough time of it, I’ve felt for you so much, wishing you rest and comfort and amazing to think your baby will be here soon Smile

Labmum · 14/03/2019 14:07

@beanhunter, @Anne and @hopeful you're all doing amazingly. The end is so close for all of you!

@Anne any reason why no sweep? It kicked things off for me so I avoided induction (in hindsight I wish I'd left it a week to try get DD to not be back to back). Got everything crossed for you for this final bit, so excited you'll finally have him/her in your arms!

I’m really flip flopping about it tbh lab, just hate the idea and read so many things about bleeding and awful pain after people have had them done. My consultant said he doesn’t rate them so it was up to me but he wouldn’t bother as they work if you’re ready and don’t if you’re not. But I hate the thought of being stuck in a hospital bed awash with chemicals even more and want to be at home for as long as possible so part of me is thinking fuck it, worth a go, worst that can happen is nothing. Is it more likely to work post due date? Last saw consultant 2 weeks ago, seems like ages.

Help! Would you ask if you were me?
