Well I was feeling completely awful but I read on another thread about ice lollies so I had one it made me feel hugely better! Maybe a lack of sugar. Glad it wasn’t food poisoning! Will defo be avoiding it for a while. Can’t even think of it without 🤢

Oh that really does sound awful @Mrstobe90. You poor thing. Hopefully you don’t get a repeat of that! x

Mayjane5 · 02/12/2018 17:18

I know you can’t take ibuprofen when pregnant is there anything else I can take? I have flu like symptoms feel achy, sinuses hurt etc 😷

RanchoRelaxo · 02/12/2018 17:32

Oh god @Mayjane5 I know how you feel I've had a bad cold for the last week which is making me even more tired than I was. I've been taking paracetamol and breathing in lots of steam from hot drinks, taking warm baths etc, apparently lemon and honey drink is good and I tried some flavoured tea but I really didn't like them

Mayjane5 · 02/12/2018 17:42

@RanchoRelaxo I’ve had this cold about a week then yesterday it hit me very hard was in bed by 6, been on sofa all day. I’ll try a bath and see if that helps will try lemon and honey too, hope it passes quickly feel so useless

Delilah7 · 02/12/2018 17:45

@RanchoRelaxo @Mayjane5 I had so many people moan at me when I was sick with a cold and found out I was pregnant as apparently you shouldn't bloody take honey and lemon lemsips!!

Mayjane5 · 02/12/2018 17:49

@Delihah7 so many things you can’t have, I think @RanchoRelaxo meant just hot water with lemon and honey in which tastes ok I’ve had before when trying to diet and be healthy 😊

Delilah7 · 02/12/2018 17:51

@Mayjane5 @RanchoRelaxo it's just beyond ridiculous. Yet when you speak to doctor they're like I'm sure on or two won't matter 😂😂

Was sick again today for the first time since Wednesday... took it out of me again! Managed to cook a roast though. However wondering how I'll manage till my 12 weeks scan with hoping baby is ok.... I'm 8 weeks 5 days! X

RanchoRelaxo · 02/12/2018 18:56

@Mayjane5 @Delilah7 yea think lemsips are a no because they have actual medicine in? There are so many things we can't have it's a right pain, I have bad allergies so I've had to go cold turkey on all my nose sprays and antihistamines which is horrible 😂

Has anyone had their flu jab yet?

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/12/2018 19:35

Pretty much the only thing you're allowed is paracetamol 🙈

Speaking of things you can't have.... I was at mum's for tea tonight and no one knows yet.... I took a spoonful of cheesecake then thought, oh bugger am I allowed this ?! Lol anyone know ? No idea if it was baked or not but I ate it anyway 🙈

AstroKate · 02/12/2018 20:34

Hey all

I'm coming up to 6 weeks tomorrow and only very occasional nausea with not a lot else going on!

I think cheesecake is ok @ReginaPhalange89 as it's cream cheese which is fine. My understanding is it's uncooked Brie and white rinds cheeses as well as blue cheese that's no go.

Had my flu jab this week-but was due it anyway as I've had a transplant. Arm felt dead for days afterwards!

AstroKate · 02/12/2018 20:59

Ladies, having a slight panic attack! Blood when I wiped... not loads but pinkish and enough to leave a small mark in my knickers

I've read some people do experience this and it's not an issue but have any of you had this in precious pregnancies? I don't have any cramping or anything?

mrsof20118 · 02/12/2018 21:14

@AstroKate it's probably just completely normal and could be from exercise, sex or just irritated cervix. If you are worried I would ring your midwife in the morning they may be able to refer you for a scan to put your mind at ease?

Flyfisherlady · 02/12/2018 21:15

@astrokate poor you! One for the doctors. We are here for you. Can’t imagine how panicked you must be.

Mrstobe90 · 02/12/2018 21:25

@Georgeofthejungle I'll have to try the ice lolly trick!

Georgeofthejungle · 02/12/2018 21:56

@astrokate the midwife said only to worry if it’s bright red blood accompanied by cramping. Cramping or discolouration is nothing to worry about. I’d atill give them a phone but that’s what they said to me. I think I mentioned before that I got so much spotting with my first that I didn’t realise I was pregnant until around 7 weeks as i thought I’d had a period! x

Georgeofthejungle · 02/12/2018 21:57

@mrstobe90 it’s a lifesaver. I’ve had 2 today and a whole box of grapes. What baby wants and all that! x

AstroKate · 02/12/2018 22:42

Thanks ladies. Just been to the loo again and there's still some spotting-I've definitely not got cramping and it's not clotting in the blood which is reassuring. It's good to also know others have had something similar

I don't have a midwife yet so will try and find a number to ring in the morning and just check it over with them.

I've put a pantyliner in (TMI!) just to try and see how much happens overnight.

Keeping fingers crossed 🤞

KinCat · 03/12/2018 02:31

AstroKate I've had some bleeding as well, a small amount when I wiped on Thursday and then some in my pants after we'd had sex on Saturday. Trying not to stress about it too much.

Got my first scan in 10 daya so I'm just taking it a day at a time until then.

GabbyGal · 03/12/2018 08:46

@AstroKate @KinCat My doctor told me that if I experience any bleeding without cramping I should stay off my feet and rest. She said there’s no need to worry unless bleeding is accompanied by pain. I know saying not to worry is easier said than done x

GabbyGal · 03/12/2018 08:49

@RanchoRelaxo I had my flu jab at about 4 weeks before I knew I was pregnant. Arm was a bit sore for a couple of days but wasn’t too bad.

I didn’t know you could take antihistamines.. spring should be fun when hayfever kicks in 🤦🏻‍♀️

AstroKate · 03/12/2018 09:01

Thanks @GabbyGal and @KinCat - we did have sex late Saturday so I was wondering if that may have contributed. I have woken up to a small spot of blood on the pantyliner and still something when I wipe.

I'm working from home today so will be sat at a desk and will try not to worry. I don't really know who to call if it does become more severe or cramping as haven't been given contact details yet!

Won't act on anything then unless it changes or continues for days. Thanks so much for the reassurance and knowing it's not just me who's experiencing it! Thanks

KinCat · 03/12/2018 11:49

GabbyGal that's interesting you were advised to stay off your feet. I need a doctor's note for even one day off work and no option to work from home (I live overseas). If I get any more bleeding I might see if I can get signed off for a day or two.

I used to get random bleeding sometimes when I wasn't pregnant, cervical ectropion (sp?) the Dr said. So it may be totally unrelated to the baby!

Nooo! I thought antihistamines were ok! I was going to avoid for now in the first trimester but then take if I needed them later on.

GinaG2019 · 03/12/2018 11:56

Hello ladies! Massive congratulations to you all.
I found out I was pregnant about 2 weeks ago and have calculated due date as 15th July 2019 so am 8 weeks exactly today . Which is very exciting but don't know how I'm going to wait that long (I'm sure I won't be saying that in a few months timeGrin )
This is my first pregnancy so just thought I'd join to get some tips and that kind of thing. I'm struggling with acronyms a bit could someone help me out? Thanks.

ReginaPhalange89 · 03/12/2018 12:44

@GinaG2019 congratulations! Trust me the time will fly by ! I'm on pregnancy #3 and honestly my last one went SO quickly . I'm only 6 weeks today and as much as I want 12 weeks to hurry up, I also want to try and enjoy every second this time (since I know it's 100% the last one! Lol)

Which acronyms are you struggling with ?
DH - dear husband
DD/DS - dear daughter/son
BFN - big fat negative (pregnancy test )
Bfp - big fat positive
DTD - sex (think it stands for doing the deed lol)

GinaG2019 · 03/12/2018 12:51

Thank you @ReginaPhalange89 thabk you so much this has helped me a lot!!
I think once I have my scan ill settle down a bit but won't be getting that til the new year. How are your symptoms at the moment I'm really nauseous all the time and struggling to eat anything at all it seems as though I've developed the nose of a dog because every smell is really intense for me at the moment. Really hoping it'll get better once im out of the first trimester but could just be wishful thinking lol
