For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

Fingers crossed we hear good news from OP today as she's been very quiet on this thread for a while now. Good luck all you ladies

surreygirl1987 · 30/09/2018 09:52

False labour is mean! Thought it was starting up last night when had pretty intense cramps... then they went away with a warm bath! Had a lovely night's sleep, but still I would have preferred to have had the baby!! Hope you're all doing okay x

s2204 · 30/09/2018 09:58

Hello all, been reading this thread this morning whilst sulking that I’ve not been woke up by strong contractions again... 🤣 40+2. No baby :-/ tried all the old wife tales, been walking every day since my sweep on Thursday and no signs! Congratulations to the ones who have given birth! I’m slightly jealous 😂

twobambinos · 30/09/2018 12:46

I'm sulking too. I feel really ungrateful. My head is sore and my legs feel weak and I just want this baby to get out now because I'm done. And I just feel like the world's biggest b for thinking like that when so many people would give anything for it.

s2204 · 30/09/2018 12:57

Your not the only one feeling like that. I’ve had this heavy feeling in my stomach all day like I’m about to get my period. I refuse to even get my hopes up that it’s the start of anything now! I’m just gunna resign to the fact that worst case scenario of being induced on 8th October is when il get to hold my baby and find out if it’s a boy or girl x

MaverickSnoopy · 30/09/2018 13:16

I was thinking about the OP too and wondering if maybe she's in labour.

I've just made a glut of a roast with every trimming under the sun, followed by an epic rice pudding. I felt like today was likely the last time I'd feel up to it for a while so went all out. Stuffed now though and need a sleep!

twobambinos · 30/09/2018 18:17

@mavericksnoopy your dinner sounds lovely.

Hopefully Debbie is very busy with a newborn today.

I feel like I'm being headbutted a bit today but that the head is still floating around. I'm wondering if it's just too big and won't fit and that why he hasn't arrived. Anyway tomorrow's appointment will hopefully shed some light and a plan of action,

IchFliegeNach · 30/09/2018 20:21

Oh I had a big roast as well Maverick! And a glass of wine. Just a small one, but it felt like a rebellion!
I am counting next Wednesday (10th) as my due date now as it is my possible induction date.

RowenaDedalus · 30/09/2018 20:27

I think a glass of wine is a good idea! Relaxing = oxytocin right?!

I’ve had no pains today but I have had A LOT of people calling and messaging to ask if I have! One person even asked if I was worried the due date is wrong Grin This is not how due dates work...

Foodylicious · 30/09/2018 21:03

About to have a Bailey's and milk here Grin

Just tightenings here still really. Been a bit more painful and into my back as well as across bump and in to my bottom this eve. But not really changing.
Think it's going to be a while yet!

twobambinos · 30/09/2018 21:30

I haven't had a drink since January Sad I'd love a glass of wine now but the heartburn is bad enough as it is without it.

s2204 · 30/09/2018 21:54

I’ve just been out for a meal, had a cheeky half of peroni! Was jealous of everyone else on the red wine and had to leave when they started ordering the espresso martinis 😩 won’t be long ladies!! (Ps god help me, felt abit tipsy after that half of lager) xx

Foodylicious · 30/09/2018 22:08

Sooo liking forward to doing the school run in the morning and going in to the the playground STILL pregnant.

I'm not even overdue, but am massive so everyone seems to have expected me to have baby every time they are me.

Think I might pop in to the breastfeeding group after and surround myself with as much oxytocin as I can.

twobambinos · 30/09/2018 22:44

Oh god at foody I had put the school run to the back of my mind all weekend thinking I'd surely have had the baby by Monday Grin

MaverickSnoopy · 01/10/2018 06:49

@Foodylicious I know what you mean! I was first asked "have you not had the baby yet" on the school run about 3 weeks ago....I'm only 39+2 today! I'm also not looking forward to the school run. I've realised after a weekend at home that it's what's making my pgp and sciatica so bad.

Speaking of alcohol I've just remembered that with my first (when I went into spontaneous labour) that a lady DH worked with said that in her day women used to have a gin and tonic and it would bring on labour (not sure if this is a good thing when you think about it - I mean what does it do?!). Anyway, I had one and then went into labour in the middle of the night. I had totally forgotten that! I might save it until I'm overdue though. Have started on the raspberry leaf tea and have been trying sex daily but it's far too painful so not getting very far with that. Been thinking about trying to express. Has anyone else tried it? I thought that if you do that and it works then you'd loose all the colostrum?

Foodylicious · 01/10/2018 07:12

Hand expressing working ok here maverick I didn't do it yesterday but did have a few stronger contractions I think the eve before.

You will keep producing colostrum until the hormones change after birth and your milk comes in.
My LO still feeds to sleep so have been drinking colostrum for weeks!

s2204 · 01/10/2018 07:33

That’s interesting! I’ve tried the manual nipple stimulation and did have a few contractions afterwards, they weren’t painful though. Is the result supposed to get milk/colostrum from them? Mine were dry so is that another indicator that I’m no where near? Confused tonight’s plan is nipple stimulation whilst drinking a G&T. Grin x

surreygirl1987 · 01/10/2018 08:01

I've been collecting colostrum for the past week and a half but it's had no impact whatsoever on me as far as I can tell- no contractions afterwards anyway! I barely for any the first day I tried... it took until day 4 to feel like I was doing it properly! Now I can easily get 2ml in 10 mins. But still no labour or baby!! 🙈

somersetsoul · 01/10/2018 09:30

I've been lurking on this for a while now. Can I join please? 38+5 with no 3 after an 8 year gap (and different partner this time). I'm getting pains on and off, lower back and behind my bump. Today I would appear to be leaking wee 😔 Devastated as I've never had that one before! I'm so fed up now and my hormones are crazy. I was such a bitch to dp yesterday, I don't know how he puts up with me! I'm plannning a home birth this time after two fairly labours.

twobambinos · 01/10/2018 10:26

@somersetsoul welcome.. Could the leak be your waters?

twobambinos · 01/10/2018 10:27

I must hurry on and motivate myself to get out the door to my appointment before they get excited and think I've not shown up because I've had the baby.

I'd honestly rather just sit here and do nothing for the day.

twobambinos · 01/10/2018 10:29

Oh and I've been leaking since really early on before 20 weeks anytime I don't have a tight bra on so I'm not sure that it meant anything for me or my three overdue babies. I've given up on all the old tales now. It's only time and intervention now.

somersetsoul · 01/10/2018 10:35

No, it doesn't smell like waters! I feel for you all doing the School run. My dds walk to my car now so I don't have to see anyone. The huge/fatty/giant baby comments this time have really got to me. I'm hibernating now and am 4 seasons into Suits!! I highly recommend it if you want a Netflix watch!

somersetsoul · 01/10/2018 10:36

Good luck with your appointment 🙂

MaverickSnoopy · 01/10/2018 10:41

Have tried hand expressing but literally getting nothing. With my last two I remember not even getting 1 hospital tube full in 2 days.
