For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

@debbiegtj keeping everything crossed for you!

debbiegtj · 29/09/2018 11:45

Ahhhh naked that’s fantastic news!!! I’m so happy for you!! ❤️❤️❤️ Well done 😍

Hi lulubelle! Thank you! I’m still here still pregnant (I really don’t understand how?!) 😂😂 40+2 today and getting pretty strong irregular contractions so who knows when it’ll be! Having a walk round the shopping centre today so hopefully that will help! How’s everyone else feeling today? Xxx

@debbiegtj you poor thing. I was sure your update would be a birth announcement.
Hopefully the spot of retail therapy will help you along.

MaverickSnoopy · 29/09/2018 13:48

I'm 39 weeks today so I don't know why I feel like I should have given birth by now. I think after two late babies I feel like this one should be early! I'll probably be posting 3 weeks today to say I'm being induced!

IchFliegeNach · 29/09/2018 14:37

Congratulations @naked! And hang on in there for everyone else!
40+1 today and nothing - not one tiny sign! Have had the curry, been walking everywhere, and am about to go off for a good long ramble now.
Then I am going to give up and sit in the sofa and watch box sets and ignore it

Foodylicious · 29/09/2018 16:44

Oh debbie hope your walk helps!

Fx for everyone

twobambinos · 29/09/2018 18:02

@mavericksnoopy I was the same with two overdue I felt the odds were stacked in my favour of going before 40 weeks Hmm not for me unfortunately but fingers crossed it works for you.

@ichfliegenach same as that not one sign. It's disappointing isn't it. But there doesn't have to be a sign it can just go from nothing to contractions with no signs at all and that's all that is keeping me sane if I'm honest.

MaverickSnoopy · 29/09/2018 18:20

Twobambinos, it's daft really isn't it, sure if 2 have already been late then the next is likely to be!! With my first I didn't have ANY signs and then out of nowhere my waters broke, followed by a clear out, followed by contractions and I was in hospital within 3 hours of my waters breaking. It really can come on very suddenly with no signs at all.

twobambinos · 29/09/2018 18:28

With my first I got the text book early labour went to the shops and all. Things just gradually progressed over 24 hours. No clear out no plug no show and my waters had to be broken during labour.

With the second. No early labour just straight to the strong contractions. No show no plug I still don't even know if these are the same thing Hmm

I told myself from the start this one will be late but somehow I still didn't believe it. I even thought it will be early to make up for the other two. Two weeks early adding all days over 40 weeks from the last pregnancies together and taking them off this one. Early because I thought sure the muscles holding the baby up there must be weakened after 3 pregnancies. I don't even have pressure even though the head is down for weeks. Denial much

Twodogsandahooch · 29/09/2018 18:32

Can we have some babies soon please ladies? I keep checking in on this thread expecting some news.

Seriously I feel for you. DD1 arrived at 42 weeks (induced at 41 +5). Look after yourselves. Rest when you can. Keep hydrated. X

surreygirl1987 · 29/09/2018 20:24

Hello! Can I join in here please? My due date is tomorrow and no sign yet! So reassuring to find a group of women in the same boat!! Hope you are all doing okay... getting so impatient!!

SlimGin · 29/09/2018 20:47

Can I also jump in! 41 weeks today and I thought all along i'd have an October baby, I guess that's coming true.
Today lost lots of mucas plug and have irregular mild contractions about every 30 mins - 1hr. They aren't getting stronger or closer though, and I've had them for about 1.5 days now. Sat on my ball watching Harry Potter Smile

RowenaDedalus · 29/09/2018 21:49

Sounds positive slimgin. I’ve got nothing to offer symptoms wise. Just period pains on and off through the day- been like that a week now.

Got a membrane sweep organised for this week! The things I look forward to!

SlimGin · 29/09/2018 22:15

Yes am hoping so @rowena. I had less symptoms than you at 40+3 I didn't even feel pregnant apart from the huge bump.
Hope your sweep goes well. I was excited for mine and then the midwife said there's no point as I've not had any signs at all so that put me in a bit of a grump!

afloat · 29/09/2018 22:20

Hello slimgin and surreygirl! Harry Potter is an excellent movie choice, I might borrow that idea.

I had pineapple and sex this evening, fingers crossed Grin

RowenaDedalus · 29/09/2018 22:40

I only realised today that they only do the sweep if the cervix is favourable! So I’m glad I am aware of that and won’t be too disappointed if it doesn’t happen...
Just want to hide in the house and not see anyone because my clothes are all too small now and also I feel like I disappoint everyone by still being pregnant Grin So I’m hiding until the baby comes.

IchFliegeNach · 29/09/2018 22:48

That made me laugh @Rowena! I am in the most hideous sacks now and have nothing to wear!
Plus people keeping wishing me luck...then seeing me in the playground/supermarket again with no baby. I know the feeling!

SlimGin · 29/09/2018 23:22

I had no idea either @Rowena I thought it was a given especially as I was past the due date and the midwife said she could do it still if I prefer but I felt a bit weird about having one if it won't really help. Also yes I ripped two skirts today!

@Ich it's getting a bit awkward now isn't it, every time someone says bye to me they say 'good luck, next time I see you you'll have a baby!!' Then see them a week later still pregnant.

twobambinos · 29/09/2018 23:28

Well you learn something new everyday I never knew that about sweeps either. But sure won't it be good to have someone check it out and know that nothing is going on anyway? Theres more of my denial for you.

Can totally relate to the clothes sacks and next time I see you comments. I am gone into hiding too. I'm sick of it. Told my dh today if that baby does not show up by tomorrow I am turning off my phone for two weeks I can not take any more of it

newjobbb · 29/09/2018 23:40

I had several failed sweeps with no.2 & 3, strange as it worked with no. 1.

Hopefully not too long op, I was induced with no.2&3, hopefully you go on your own, how you feeling?

SlimGin · 29/09/2018 23:52

Yes true I would like to know that everything's looking good down there but was a bit too shy to ask her to look anyway.
At least the further overdue I go the less messages I get from people asking where baby is, as if everyone is bored of checking up on me now Grin

Alicia870 · 30/09/2018 00:30

40+5 for me with first and still no baby! Thought something might be happening earlier as I had extreme sharp pains down low which were really sore! Then went away and nothing since. I’m so so fed up!!

NakedMum33and3rd · 30/09/2018 05:16

It will happen soon.
I'm in bed cuddling my little boy who is about to be 24 hrs old. I can't believe it. He is making the cutest little squeaks. I'm so in love. The wait is worth it!

SlimGin · 30/09/2018 05:33

Oh @naked that's so lovely congratulations ❤️
I'm currently wired up to the tens machine so perhaps it's starting to happen after all 😬

MaverickSnoopy · 30/09/2018 08:01

It does go quickly doesn't it. You spend weeks of waiting and then all of a sudden they're here.

It's weird I had a strong feeling this one would be early (and it might be I'm only 39+1), but the only reason I'm eager is because I'm finding life such a struggle at the moment. Doing the school run and looking after a toddler when I have pgp is HARD. As it happens I'm not quite ready for the sleepless nights, but would take them for the pain to go away and of course want to meet my baby.
