For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

Congratulations!!

Just waiting for my appointment and hoping for a sweep and some good news

surreygirl1987 · 09/10/2018 09:07

Good luck @afloat!!

RowenaDedalus · 09/10/2018 09:09

Fingers crossed afloat

No update here except I could murder my sister-in-law with her “is baby still not here?!” “Well???” And “your belly is sooooo big!” It’s easier to give news updates when you get induced at 38 weeks for nothing but convenience! /rant

Oh also they put back my induction date to next Wednesday, so I decided to try to get out of the house every day and we had a lovely autumn walk today.

How’s everyone else?

RowenaDedalus · 09/10/2018 19:57

My SIL is the same. Also advice on how to induce labour from people who had their babies at 37-39 weeks. I’m 41+1, leave me alone!

surreygirl1987 · 09/10/2018 20:16

Haha I feel your frustration ladies! @afloat did you have a sweep in the end?

I think I lost my mucus plug today so finally a positive sign! Lots of period cramps on and off and toilet every five minutes or so and pressure below... Really hope this is finally it and if it is I just might avoid getting induced on Friday! I guess the mw appointment tomorrow will give me my verdict. I'm 41+2 so running out of time! Hope you're all having a pleasant evening!

RowenaDedalus · 09/10/2018 20:31

Oooh surreygirl I hope this is it for you!

(I will also be super jealous if I’m the last one on the thread to have their baby Grin)

MaverickSnoopy · 09/10/2018 21:28

You won't be Rowena - it will be me for sure!!!

afloat · 09/10/2018 21:44

I’ve resigned myself to go another week so I’m sure you guys won’t be left alone!

No sweep, the doctor didn’t see a point as I’m too closed.

Surreygirl, fingers crossed for you. They are all signs that something productive is happening at least so when the time does come some “work” is done.

surreygirl1987 · 09/10/2018 21:47

Thanks! Yes - even if it doesn't come to anything hopefully it will make the induction an easier process! 🤞

RowenaDedalus · 09/10/2018 22:03

Every night I get into bed and think I really hope that tonight is the night. And it isn’t. I’m going to go out for a walk tomorrow to fill my day with something other than thinking about having a baby.

MaverickSnoopy · 10/10/2018 06:26

A midwife said to me at the weekend that some women just gestate longer than others.

40+4 today so really not that overdue but I've been 3cm, having contractions, lost my plug and waters partly bulging since Saturday at least and yet baby still doesn't want to come out. Same as how I was in my second pregnancy and I went 15 days over. I honestly think it's stress and thinking about it ALL THE TIME that makes it take longer.

afloat · 10/10/2018 13:07

Maverick I agree! I’ve been a lot happier since I made a big effort to stay busy. I moped in bed on Monday but it makes the time pass so slowly.

Any more symptoms anyone?

MaverickSnoopy · 10/10/2018 15:11

Stronger contractions on/off all afternoon. DH was so unphased and said "where have I heard that before? Tell me when the head is out then maybe it's happening" lol.

Busy with toddler...but also feeling sorry for very bored toddler. Thankfully DH is off this afternoon and is taking the children to the park to burn some energy. I am getting in the bath!

afloat · 10/10/2018 16:49

Thinking of you Maverick! What age is your toddler? Mine will be 3 in January and I was exhausted taking care of her until my parents came to help out!

I went for a long walk by nada.

afloat · 10/10/2018 16:49

*but nada. Damn.

RowenaDedalus · 10/10/2018 17:09

Nothing at all here either.

MaverickSnoopy · 10/10/2018 17:47

She's a young 2 so very full of beans and in the midst of toddler angst. It's been challenging! Must admit I'm wiped out by the time DH is in from work.

Contractions gone again so will be starting nightly routine of raspberry leaf tea, bouncing on ball and sex (which is challenging and frankly ridiculous!).

RowenaDedalus · 11/10/2018 09:46

Any luck anyone?

afloat · 11/10/2018 10:27

Not here. I saw surreygirl post about early labour in another thread so I suspect things are happening there!

I believe I will be pregnant forever.

How’s it going @mavericksnoopy?

afloat · 11/10/2018 10:28

And you Rowena? What are you filling your day with? I need inspiration!

RowenaDedalus · 11/10/2018 10:34

I know I saw that too!
I have absolutely zero signs either which is depressing. Am I even pregnant?
Not sure yet, the weather is quite mild so I’m going to go out for a walk and then hopefully find someone to go for lunch or a coffee with. Maternity leave is quite lonely when you don’t actually have a baby though!
I’m also going to bounce on the ball even though I don’t believe it’s making any difference at all.

MaverickSnoopy · 11/10/2018 11:18

Yes I saw that thread too. Very exciting!!

So far today I've cleaned the kitchen and fridge (ready for big food shop DH is bringing home tonight) and made a cake. Got some other chores to do but nothing exciting.

I've still got back period pain type cramps but they don't seem to be turning into anything. Next midwife apt is Saturday. Am debating another sweep. I really don't want to be induced and want to try anything. Equally, I had 3 sweeps in my last pregnancy and 1 in this one and none have ever worked. In fact the last one landed me in hospital. I vowed not to have another and I really don't want another weekend in hospital...but.....

RowenaDedalus · 11/10/2018 11:27

Making a cake sounds like a great idea actually. I might steal that plan!

It’s hard to decide what to do isn’t it. By Saturday though your body might be more ready for labour and the sweep could be just what you need to set it off. On Saturday I will be in hospital ready for my induction Sad Still some time for labour to start spontaneously before then I suppose.

afloat · 11/10/2018 12:19

Rowena for my first I gave birth the morning of my planned induction, there’s everything to hope for! I remember what maternity leave was like first time around, I waited for ages and it was over Christmas. I’m busy with my toddler and family now so it’s going a bit faster.

I am massaging my boobs every time I think no-one is looking Grin
