For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

You doing ok naked? 💕

Foodylicious · 02/10/2018 21:34

I think I would be ok with 8lb 4oz.

I am measuring rather big
Was 41 weeks at 38. So 99th centile

Totally different to my first who we not tiny, But 17th centile I think at 6lbs 15oz

SlimGin · 02/10/2018 21:48

Thanks all! Yes it's a lovely weight and she's quite short so just so chubby 😍
Lots of baby cuddles now!

RowenaDedalus · 02/10/2018 22:26

So jealous! How was the birth?

SlimGin · 02/10/2018 23:40

I had a really positive birthing experience in hindsight. At the time I just really wanted drugs to help with the pain but as I was already 5cm when I got to the hospital there was no time for anything but gas and air which I used for the contractions until it was time to push. Every time I had a contraction baby's heart rate dropped so there was a bit of urgency to get baby out quickly. The midwife talked about using a suction cup but that wasn't necessary in the end. I had a couple of 'I can't do this' thoughts but then those were overridden by 'I have to do this' and thinking about the baby's heart rate propelled me to reallyyyy go for it when pushing and it was perhaps 10-15 mins until she was out!

MaverickSnoopy · 03/10/2018 07:02

Well done SlimGin you are amazing! I went through the same with my last labour and it was a bit hairy towards the end (no pun intended) so I understand the pressure and desire to get the baby out....and here you are having little snuggles. Congratulations again!

user1906 · 03/10/2018 08:54

@Foodylicious Hi! Yeah lots of family have been around helping its just so hard to relax with so much to doSmile i am so big now so feel like im in the way!

s2204 · 03/10/2018 09:41

@user1906 at least you’ve got a lot to keep you occupied! I’ve been on mat leave for 3 weeks, now 5 days overdue! So bored! Only so much cleaning & walking you can do 😂

user1906 · 03/10/2018 09:48

@s2204 feel free to come help me lol! Ive been off since mid August using annual leave so I feel your pain!! Fed up of the 'not long now eh!!' comments😬

surreygirl1987 · 03/10/2018 10:06

So sex at 40+2 did nothing except make us laugh 🙈 definitely no baby yet but we had quite the time trying to work out what position would work 😂 I have now officially tried everything on 'the list'... now for another day of bouncing on my ball and walking 😩 what are the rest of you doing with your day? Need some ideas- everyone I know is at work!

MaverickSnoopy · 03/10/2018 10:59

Well I'm currently "painting" with my toddler. Although today she is more interested in pouring water onto the paper. At least I'm sat down though.

39+4 and feel like I've been kicked in the vag. Honestly felt like baby was going to fall out on the way home from school.

Must try harder with the at home old wives tales, if anything to feel like I'm doing something.

Foodylicious · 03/10/2018 11:04

Done the school drop off this morning then taken my car to the garage.
So currently eating my weight in millionaire shortbread.
Pre labour tightenings continue and still a little stronger each day.

Been eating dates too, though to be effective you are meant to start around 36 weeks I think.

Foodylicious · 03/10/2018 11:05

39+5 today

s2204 · 03/10/2018 11:19

@Foodylicious are your pre labour tightening painful? I’m getting constant tightening but their not painful! OH keeps saying maybe “your just well hard” 😂😂😂

MaverickSnoopy · 03/10/2018 11:23

Oooh millionaires shortbread sounds good!!!

Foodylicious · 03/10/2018 11:39

s2204
Some are.
They get stronger as the day goes on and were quite sore last evening to the point I couldn't walk whilst having one, just had to stand still and let it pass.

Get them all day about every 10-20 mins, then about every 5 mins in the evening.

Stomach goes in to a rock like cube and I het pressure in to bottom like I am being stretched from the inside out.

As the day goes on they radiate out further in to the hips.

afloat · 03/10/2018 14:53

My “due date” is today! (I use inverted commas because I hate the expression, I’m not a library book!). I’ve been just pottering around the house, stayed in bed late and made a big lunch for family. Reading a book. Trying not to read too much into the possibility of mucous plug and of tightenings that are sometimes getting painful!

RowenaDedalus · 03/10/2018 15:27

40+1 today! I’ve really decided that I will be pregnant still this time next week. I can’t actually imagine having a baby any time soon. So labour would be a lovely surprise Grin

s2204 · 03/10/2018 15:28

@surreygirl1987 same for us last night! Didn’t work 😂 I’ve just bought some fresh pineapple so I’m on the last of the old wife’s tales! Off for a drive over speed bumps and a mammoth walk tomorrow before my 2nd sweep!! I’ve now resorted to hiding inside because I don’t want to bump into anyone who’s previously wished me luck and love said “next time we see you, baby will be here” 😂

IchFliegeNach · 03/10/2018 15:53

Nothing here either - in fact, had a great night's sleep and have been walking and shopping all day and...nothing! I know I shouldn't be complaining as I feel so well, but am so bored!!!
Eating lots of biscuits though, just because.

RowenaDedalus · 03/10/2018 15:59

I had a good night’s sleep too. Which I’ve decided is a good sign- my body is trying to give me enough energy, right?
I’m eating lots because I’m telling myself that soon I won’t have an excuse to eat biscuits all the time Wink

ButAIBUtho · 03/10/2018 16:46

Is anyone else wondering where the OP is?

I hope she's ok!

surreygirl1987 · 03/10/2018 17:28

@s2204 your post made me laugh - you sound just like me... I bought a gigantic pineapple yesterday as well that I'm planning to demolish this eve! So bored of mat leave now... really wish I'd worked up to 40 weeks!!

surreygirl1987 · 03/10/2018 17:31

Just realised The Apprentice is on this eve so there is something to look forward to that will definitely happen on time 😁👏

s2204 · 03/10/2018 18:03

Il probably go into full blown labour at 5 to 9 then knowing my luck 😂
