Kyle
Ellie
Jaden/Jayden
Chanelle
etc etc... and apologies if you have called your child any of the above
I put Ellie because a squillion little girls are called that.
Freya is a nice name but there are so many now - it really turns me against such names,no matter whether they are nice

My friend's three-year-old girl is called Bridget. v unusual but nice.
I wanted to call ds2 Jesse but people were horrified so we decided against it.

desiderata my comments were not aimed at you.

neither do you need to feel for me because my child has an apparently crap name!

i dont care who likes/dislikes his name, really, i dont.

i just dont see the need to slate particular names, whatever those names are, which one poster did with gusto!

I'm jumping forward a bit here from way back when the "initials" thing was being mentioned but I know a lad called "TeeJay" - that's his name, it's not short for eg Thomas John - and he is well over 20. So this initials naming crap has been around for quite a while

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 22:06

Oh, sorry nightowl. You misunderstood my post. It's my child with the crap name ... I haven't a clue what yours is called

hellish · 06/06/2007 22:08

maybe he was named after TJ Hooker?

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 22:08

Mr Van Dann?

Where's he got that from, Kerry?

Jean Claude Van-Damme (or however you spell it) is a bit of a legend in the foot-kicking area. Is that who he means?

nightowl · 06/06/2007 22:09

my dd could have had a very silly last name actually..but me being the good mother that i am gave her mine instead. (boring but much less clownlike)

I must admit, nightowl, I'm on the fence at the moment with my son's surname. His dad's name is embarrassing, but generations that went before him have suffered it, and I'm reluctant to be the first to ditch it!

Kerry.

He is a bit gorge, isn't he ... in a very cheesy way.

But then, I like cheese

It surely is, Kerry.

A matter for the instinct.

Always difficult.

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 22:16

Hey! I like you, Kerry.

margarine would be nice for a girl.....

I have a friens who insists that if she ever has children she'll call them Wireless, Carpet and Vladivostok becaus they are her favourite words!

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 22:22

Ooh, Kate. You can't call a girl Margerine ... or Flora.

She's easy to spread

nightowl · 06/06/2007 22:22

not really concerned about carrying on our family surname, its so common..its hardly going to run out!
