Kyle
Ellie
Jaden/Jayden
Chanelle
etc etc... and apologies if you have called your child any of the above
I put Ellie because a squillion little girls are called that.
Freya is a nice name but there are so many now - it really turns me against such names,no matter whether they are nice

I thought binker would have been royally roasted for this.

But you're having a polite discussion instead?

I'm very disappointed in you Mumsnet

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 18:47

My brother was fitting carpets in a local school a couple of years back, and one of the bags in the cloakroom had POPPY BUTTON on it.

, but that's a farking fine name!

I just love it.

fillyjonk · 06/06/2007 18:48

this is not a nice thread

it is HORRIBLE to mock a kid's name

it is low and nasty

Blandmum · 06/06/2007 18:48

Chelseamum · 06/06/2007 18:49

I have met a little boy in Spain called

Judas Garcia....

I swear! ( I was going to say to God....but I will leave religious issues for another thread)

fillyjonk · 06/06/2007 18:50

oh well good on you

how big of the lot of you, laughing at kids

wayhey, very clever

lailasmum · 06/06/2007 18:50

I like soalr and Bob Geldof's daughgter is called Peaches.

donnie · 06/06/2007 18:50

Christ MB, they all sound like porn terminology.

" jeamzy up that flipper..."

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 18:51

For goodness sake, Fillyjonk!

Sugarfree · 06/06/2007 18:56

I quite like Ladybird. Sorry but I do.

Booboobedoo · 06/06/2007 18:56

But it's not the children being laughed at FJ, it's the parents choosing the name.

A little unkind perhaps, but that's about it.

nightowl · 06/06/2007 18:58

yes, its ok to say you dont like a name...but to openly take the piss is very unkind, not just a little.

and quite pathetic to judge a child on their name.

fillyjonk · 06/06/2007 18:58

well enjoy

i think its horrible

how would you feel if your kid's name was on here?

I am not talking about the daft names. I am talking about the names like jayden, Kyle, Ellie etc-there ARE MNetters with kids with those names. Click on the profiles.

Its just mean. So you don't like a kid's name. It would be polite to keep that to yourself, really.

nightowl · 06/06/2007 18:59

agree fillyjonk

I told you. You can't take the piss out of childrens names on a parenting site. You just cant.

Booboobedoo · 06/06/2007 19:01

I'm sorry you feel upset.

(Not that I've laughed at any names other than 'Fats').

TaylorsMummy · 06/06/2007 19:01

people don't give a shit on here.they sit there all smug with their middle class names, never mind their kids all have the same bloody names, and slag other people off.it's pathetic.

I agree about that, Filly. I only got involved when it started to lighten up - and my step-daughter is one of the names mentioned on the original list.

But we'd moved along a pace from the OP ..

WelshBoris · 06/06/2007 19:03

You're rubbing off on me hatrick, I'll have to stop hanging round with you

Ta mucho. We mainly call her Maggie May for some reason.

fillyjonk · 06/06/2007 19:04

I'm not upset, my kids aren't called ellie or jayden.

I just think its horrible that a group of adult women are laughing at kids names. i cannot square it with this being a nice place to spend time.
