Kyle
Ellie
Jaden/Jayden
Chanelle
etc etc... and apologies if you have called your child any of the above
I put Ellie because a squillion little girls are called that.
Freya is a nice name but there are so many now - it really turns me against such names,no matter whether they are nice

Freaky bat troll

Sugarfree · 06/06/2007 18:26

Peachy,we thought about Stirling for one of ours, and Ramsay.(pre Gordon Ramsay fame,we were thinking more Ramsay MacDonald)

A mother shouted for her son "B.J" in a shop in front of me the other day.It did cause a few raised eyebrows tbh.

allgonebellyup · 06/06/2007 18:26

i think Taylorsmummy hates me

Sugarfree · 06/06/2007 18:27

and that's funny because?

Blu · 06/06/2007 18:28

Urk, Colifrau, Morpo, Asthma, Diddlitia, Frantica, Perimiter, Mothbett, Lishton - all due for a comeback.

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 18:28

It was Indigo Pipkins.

mad4girls · 06/06/2007 18:31

i know a few friends with children with names which i consider awful

kia
toni (girl)
ikea (girl yes really)

possbilly the worst name i ever heard was what my dd1 dad called his new son (born last wk) kal-el like out of super man !!

and dd2 dad called there new daughter wait for it Harmonye-angaleigh yes really and thats how its spelt, that is so disgusting

not that im remotely bitter about the fact he cant bothered with the daughter he already has or anything

southeastastra · 06/06/2007 18:31

oh i goggled it as i thought it was indigo

donnie · 06/06/2007 18:32

fleagle
beagle
droopy
snork

all due a revival.

Also kids named after fruit ( cheers Gwynnie and Chris): satsuma, lychee, papaya, passion, and of course ugli.

lailasmum · 06/06/2007 18:33

Saw a program on tv once about a family who were addicted to ikea furniture they called their daughter ikea

allgonebellyup · 06/06/2007 18:35

Toni for a girl... yik

there was one at my dd's old school called that and she was always telling people "my dad is in prison"

lailasmum · 06/06/2007 18:35

maybe a clanger name would be a development, we could just take a whistle everywhere. The registrar would need a tape recorder.

TaylorsMummy · 06/06/2007 18:36

so what?

mad4girls · 06/06/2007 18:37

sounds like a lovely child allgonebellyup

some one please tell me that
Harmonye-angaleigh is disgusting and its not just bitter ness

Cammelia · 06/06/2007 18:38

Oh that reminds me, harpsi, Fenton sounds too much like Feltham (Young Offenders Institution)

donnie · 06/06/2007 18:38

it is absolutely bloody dreadful!! that poor child. Chav doesn't even begin to cover it.

lailasmum · 06/06/2007 18:39

I think its more that its just a bit much. Harmony is a lovely name. Where did the other bit come from? is it angela and leigh they were trying to combine?

lailasmum · 06/06/2007 18:40

Could they just not make their minds up and went for all three.

Lucycat · 06/06/2007 18:40

fruit names - oh yes!

grape and banana

or Greek islands

Crete
Meganissey
Niros
Astypalia

Blandmum · 06/06/2007 18:43

Or Cows. Jersey and Freisian.

or if you went for pigs you could have the hypenated Gloucester-Old-Spot

kerala · 06/06/2007 18:43

A friend's daughter has a girl called Ladybird in her nursery - think thats pretty mean on the child.

Names very subjective - often find myself detesting perfectly good names because of bad associations and vice versa.

Surprised that most people aren't bothered by names being common (in the literal sense of the word). We ditched Olivia -lovely name but it was the most common girls name last year (refer to the Office of National stats website if you want a list of the most popular names). Was glad I decided against as 4 of them in my dd's singing class. Still most people not bothered by popularity of names. Most boys round here either called Tom or Jack.

donnie · 06/06/2007 18:43

ooh yes lucycat, I like it.

Sifnos?
Zante ( actually not too bad)
Corfu ( for the chavs, natch)

or how about Cyclops, to extend the Greek theme?

lailasmum · 06/06/2007 18:44

Know lots of people called Xanthe. I think its a resort in greece or turkey or maybe both.

mad4girls · 06/06/2007 18:44

god knows they are proper chavs though the child also has a middle name scarlett not as bad i suppose but fancy shouting harmonye-angaleigh across a crowded place
pmsl when i found out

she has 2 sons called
Dylan
Jaycob

which i dont mind but cant say an awful lot as there my dp's children

Desiderata · 06/06/2007 18:45

Southeast ... I always thought it was Indigo Pipkin.
