@bluees I'm expressing but nicu are topping him up with aptamil pro as I'm not making enough to keep up with him yet as I was a day late starting to express.

Baby boy snowy was born at 5:27 this morning, like so many of us on here, we had a dramatic time of it.

Came over to assessment unit at 9pm last night to be checked out as had been contracting for 2;hrs but progress was slow, they finally got round to me at about half 12 and was only 2cms despite contractions now being 3mins apart. They were going to send me home but in the length of time it took to get a co cocodmal prescription for me contractions had ramped up again and I was 3cms.

They admitted me to MLU. Within half an hour I was down in labour ward as baby had decelerated heart, after that there was one issue after another (including Meconium) and he was finally delivered by emergency section. Thankfully he is doing brilliantly now and apart from exhaustion and the obvious surgery recovery I am also doing well.

Thank god they changed their minds about sending us home though

Congrats @snowy1982, just back from 3rd attempt at a sweep with the MW, the baby’s head is really low and she couldnt reach around the back of baby’s head to check cervix, baby is also back to back which was a suprise to find out.

beatbox01 · 15/09/2018 21:08

Hey guys that’s me just given pessary at 6:45, had to wait an extra day due to bed shortage so 41+4, don’t really know what to expect but just hoping it all goes fast x

LucyLou19 · 15/09/2018 21:37

Hope it’s quick for you lovely xx

ichifanny · 15/09/2018 23:32

Congratulations Snowy on your babies birth I hope you feel better soon , I’m just over a week in now and pain is practically away which is miraculous considering how sore I was .

snowy1982 · 17/09/2018 02:48

@ichifanny, that’s good to here. Baby and I got home from hospital today (Ok technically yesterday) so just trying to get ourselves settled into our new way of life, it’s a big adjustment. Lots of organising to do round the house as DH really let all my amazing nesting go to shit when I was in hospital (not amused by this at all)

Am 38 + 3 now and the SPD is so bad I can hardly walk up and down the stairs 😞😞😞 Got a section booked for a week on Thursday, but don’t know if I can make it that far. Just want to climb into bed and stay there. Thought things were happening on Daturday, went up to the hospital and apparently am still closed and posterior, no sign whatsoever that anything’s happening. Am so fed up. Constant period pains as well. 😣😣😣😣😞😞😞😞😞

LucyLou19 · 17/09/2018 07:04

Still very much pregnant here im 39+3 my birthday is Wednesday will I be sharing 😂😂😂 @yournotcrazy if that’s what you feel like doing then do that lovely! Rest as much as you can xx

orphanblack1 · 17/09/2018 07:54

Baby Orphan (sounds wrong!) arrived Wednesday morning by elective c section. All that went well but have had shocking care in hospital and loads of conflicting advice on the breastfeeding such that it has ended up we are now day 5 and I can’t breastfeed. He is on formula.

I’m hsving a really hard time dealing with this even though logically I know it’s fairly common and it’s not the end of the world. He’s just also on so much formula now that even if I tried to catch up I don’t think I could. Feeling very let down by our health services (we are not in uk) and some horrible midwives in particular one who made me feel like shit and kept taking my baby off me. Felt like a prisoner as they wouldn’t even let us take him for a walk round the hospital grounds - I had to fight for that one.

If the same midwife who was awful to me turns up for our home visit today we are refusing her. She made me feel like I can’t look after our baby

nervousFTM · 17/09/2018 08:56

My little one arrived on Saturday morning at 34+6. It's a girl! She's so early - due date was 21 October. May I join you ladies please seeing as I have a September baba now? Xxx

ichifanny · 17/09/2018 11:07

Orphanblack the exact same experience here unfortunately was playing catch up with breastfeeding as really struggled with pain in hospital due to them denying me proper analgesia and ended up givin her formula and trying to play catch up and then she became jaundiced and I decided to go with formula as my supply wasn’t catching up . I’m feeling better about choice now but did cry for a few days , be easy on yourself .
Snowy I here you on the nesting house organisation being let go of I’m a control freak so struggling with handing it over to everyone else .

ichifanny · 17/09/2018 11:09

Congratulations Nervous xxx

snowy1982 · 17/09/2018 12:24

Another struggling with the breast feeding at the minute, hospital were great so that wasn’t the problem, just am in so much pain that I am struggling to do it, also I am just exhausted and my wee man is so bad with mucus at the minute he is gagging on it in his sleep so am really not sleeping at the minute

niclw · 17/09/2018 13:09

@nervousFTM Congratulations on my the birth of your baby girl Thanks

niclw · 17/09/2018 13:17

Sorry to hear that some of you are having a rough time. I'm now at 40+6 and can't wait for this baby to come out although I think my mum is more desperate than I am. I alhope aye said I would have a sweep but let the midwife try on Friday and she couldn't reach around the baby's head cos it was so low and cervix was welded shut. She's coming to my house tomorrow to attempt again and said she'd do a 3rd attempt on Friday if needed. Really hoping to avoid being induced so fingers crossed 🤞

LucyLou19 · 17/09/2018 14:47

@niclw I really feel your pain!!! I’ve had two sweeps though and lost all my plug and still nothing has progressed!! Wish it hadn’t happened at all xx

niclw · 17/09/2018 14:52

@LucyLou19 It's rubbish that we can go through these sweeps and still not get anywhere. What have you been told are your next steps?x

LucyLou19 · 17/09/2018 15:00

@niclw my due date isn’t till Friday so another sweep then ☹️ Then I’m not sure! This is my 3rd baby too not used to waiting!xx
