Congratulations @VillageFete ! Brilliant news!

If at all possible I will be going for a natural birth. I hate all ideas of hospitals and surgeries... last time I had a retained placenta after a natural delivery but was still able to get out the next day and be completely mobile....hate the idea of being in hospital!

Angelmiracle · 11/08/2018 13:44

@VillageFete that's wonderful to hear you've seen a heartbeat congratulations 😊

After the trauma of DS birth I was sure I'd opt for ELCS this time but now that I'm pregnant I don't know. I will definitely be happy to accept an epidural if I go vaginal but I would hate to end up with an episiotomy and forcep delivery as the healing was horrible but a planned controlled CS could be better.

Minichuch · 11/08/2018 13:56

I had emergency cs at 36 weeks last time due to unforeseen complications - so this time I would really like to try for Vbac but if end up having elcs I can deal with that as my recovery last time wasn't bad - I managed to do asda shopping 4 days after cs 🤦🏻‍♀️

Funnybunnyfluff · 11/08/2018 14:29

It all seems very scary that not many people have positive stories in general. However I think if it's that bad would women do it again? That's only way I reassure myself lol. I think I'm trying to kid myself.

I'm sure there must be some out there Smile

myotherbagisgucci · 11/08/2018 14:47

I'll be honest, once I had DD, my first thought was I'm never doing that ever again! But you honestly forget about the pain very quickly. I must of done, as I only had DD in December 2017! Lol!

Plus, not every birth is scary, and some woman do it all without any pain relief!! 😳

VillageFete · 11/08/2018 15:23

I was my cousin’s birthing partner. She has 4 kids and each delivery has been rather swift and very straight forward. Many of my friends have had straightforward births too. Mine was a different story, it damaged my fallopian tubes, I ended up with an infection and I found myself in hospital for over a week. I blame the hospital. My DD was back to back, a large size, and her head never engaged. They still induced me, and it all went downhill from there. This time, i’m going with a section. I never want to repeat those 28 hours of hell ever again!

LovelyFishy · 11/08/2018 19:58

Positive birth story here! My DD is 15 months old. Was in the pool at a low-key hospital birth centre, only had gas and air. Small tear which I honestly wouldn’t have guessed was there as I thought you’d really feel something like that!

Clairemcd13 · 11/08/2018 20:19

Hi i am currently 10.6 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child, i have never joined or posted in anything like this before lol but thought it would be lovely this time to listen to other ladies and experiences so I don't feel alone and complaining on my own Grin went for my 12 week scan to find out i was only 9 weeks Shock means i got a positive pregnancy test at 2 weeks and gives me a new due date of 3-3-19.

@clairemcd13, welcome! I’ve added you onto the list, hope that’s ok!?

Anyone who joined us up thread, feel free to copy the list and add yourself on, it’s fun to see how dates will change.
With a very heavy heart I’ve removed Rachael, but if you are still reading lovely, I’m still thinking of you, I hope you are being kind to yourselves x

@villagefete, welcome to the bottom of the list! They aren’t going to like us when we skip them all to the middle with or ELCS’s Grin Those cakes, yum. I hope you saved me the cherry bakewell one? My

Congratulations to those of you who’ve had early scans over the last few days, so exciting. I booked my 12 week scan on Friday, it’s September 20th which is absolutely ages away!

@LovelyFishy, the warm water must have really helped, I certainly felt my tearShock. I accidentally whacked the MWs hand away, she didn’t tell me what was going on and in my madness I thought she was hurting me, oops! To be fair I asked for gas and air, only to get about 2mins worth. I was then switched to pure oxygen due to dc1s de-stats, so I was pain relief free but not by choice.

Hope everyone is okay :-) and enjoying pregnancy so far x

HoldOnToHope · 12/08/2018 08:17

Hi all! I joined on the first thread after getting my BFP at the start of July, but have been a bit MIA due to being on holiday!
I managed to sneak in a private viability scan yesterday, I just couldn't wait til the NHS scan which is at the end of August for me! So managed to see a little bean with a beautiful heartbeat and have been dated as 8w + 5 today with a due date of 19/03/19 ☺️
Hope you don't mind, but I've followed @BuffaloGiraffe's post and added myself to the list!
Hope everyone's doing well ❤️

VillageFete · 12/08/2018 08:27

@BuffaloGiraffe Grin Look at us at the bottom of the list! I should imagine our ELCS’s should be approx a week before due date? Not certain though, never had an elective section before.

My sickness has started. I just have no energy at all and can’t be bothered! House is a tip. My stomach feels so iffy.

AceyMac13 · 12/08/2018 08:53

Ughh my nausea seems to be getting worse since I’ve hit 7 weeks. I’m so tired too, slept for 12 hours straight and could quite happily go back to bed for a week 😴

Wow.. 35 mummy's so far!!

I wonder if anyone will find out their having twins? 🤔

HidCat · 12/08/2018 09:43

@VillageFete congratulations on the great scan, I'm so pleased all is well.

@Funnybunnyfluff I'm going down the natural route unless there are complications. I've seen a couple of friends struggle in recovery after a c-section so although there are advantages, I'd rather not. I think the stories your hear tend to be negative but there are plenty of positive birth stories out there. To me, the outcome is worth the trauma.

@AceyMac13 wow that's a lot of pictures!

@Clairemcd13 congratulations and welcome! How are your symptoms?

I'm doing ok, nausea is easier just have a bit in the evenings, still tired but halfway through my 2 weeks off work so getting lots of rest which is helping massively.

barleyfive · 12/08/2018 09:58

Quite a few of us now, how exciting :D Have my scan next Saturday which will be 12 weeks on the nose. A bit nervous as have been pregnant with twins previously (unfortunately it wasnt meant to be), and my symptoms are around the same level. As long as however many there are are healthy though I will be over the moon. No energy whatsoever though!

Funnybunnyfluff · 12/08/2018 10:02

Thanks for the posts about giving both ladies.

I am hopefully going to wait for my 12 week scan, however can I ask what happen in an early scan? What can they tell you good or bad?
I have no reason to have an early scan apartment from being impatient. Smile

PurpleFlower1983 · 12/08/2018 10:26

@Funnybunnyfluff I had my early scan at 8 weeks and saw a gorgeous baby shape and a strong heartbeat. I’m so glad we went as it really helped my DH too, he cried his eyes out!

Funnybunnyfluff · 12/08/2018 10:36

Oh wow bless him, roughly what is the cost of a private scan?

I gather it will make it real as it's not real in my head yet.

myotherbagisgucci · 12/08/2018 10:44

Reassurance scans near me are about £45.00.

I had an early scan last Monday, but that was through EPU due to previous fertility problems.

Funnybunnyfluff · 12/08/2018 10:52

Ok lovely thank you for the information.

Clairemcd13 · 12/08/2018 11:51

@HidCat hi, thanks. Same to u. Symptoms awful, Haven't been sick but constant nausea which i had the whole pregnancy with my 1st 4 years ago but really finding this pregnancy so much harder, so tired, having alot of pains especially in pelvic area and lower stomach, went at 9 weeks as thought i was having an ectopic, doctor was horrible and no bed side manor at all, refused to send me for an early scan but thankfully i know people who know people lol and i got an early scan which said i was only 6 weeks but kept my booking scan appointment as normal which i went to thinking i was12 weeks to be told only 9 so that all adds up with the 1st scan. 11 weeks today Grin

PurpleFlower1983 · 12/08/2018 12:13

Mine was £55. Lots of clinic type places charge £80 but you can get them cheaper at small local places.
