I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

Great news @samanthajonespr :) Chances must be really good for you now with a good scan at 9 weeks! Sonographer sounds awful, totally lacking in empathy. I'm sorry you had that experience.

@Gemmac15 welcome and congrats on your BFP.

@labmum baby hiccups sound super cute! But maybe less so if her bum is sticking into your ribs!

Paranormalbouquet · 12/11/2018 11:53

samanthajonespr congrats on a good scan! Welcome Gemma.

Labmum my DD had loads of hiccups; this baby less so. Bum is firmly under ribs here right now too- I feel your pain!

I had similar blood pressure late pregnancy with DD- hovered around borderline and had protein on and off which never progressed into pre-eclampsia so hopefully will be the same this time. Very swollen feet and hands now though so glad it's being kept an eye on.

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/11/2018 13:01

Hope you're doing okay Paranormalbouquet Flowers Must have been worrying. Have they been looking after you and can you have time off work when you need it?

Welcome to our new ladies, wishing you the world's most boring uneventful pregnancies ever Grin

So so please scan went well Miami! How are your movements this week? What are you thinking now about when to finish work? You and your baby are the only important things xxx

Extra scans sounds great vuduvu! My next one is in 5 weeks, seems ages away!

Blimey labmum, so far along now! Sorry you're uncomfy, hope she moves and gives you a break.

Glad they listened for the hb bean, I've asked at my appointments and they've always said yes.

Frazzlerock · 12/11/2018 13:17

Hi there,

I'd love to join as I'm (apparently now) 6+5 weeks and absolutely petrified.
I had a MMC at 9 weeks followed by a spontaneous MC very early on about 2.5 years ago. This is our first pregnancy since then.
We had a scan on Saturday at, what I thought was, 7 weeks. I expected to either see a heartbeat or an un-viable pregnancy. what we saw was a foetal pole that was 4 days smaller and no heartbeat.. yet. So now I'm in limbo land.

I have PCOS but I am absolutely certain that I should have been at the very least 7 weeks because I know when I ovulated due to using Ovusense. The sonographer (private) was very dubious about my method and just told me it was too early and that I am not 7 weeks and I must not have ovulated then. He then suggested I book a second US for 10-14 days later.

So I have another scan booked for next Tuesday (with the hospital this time) and I just have this awful feeling of dread Sad

I desperately want to fast forward to 12 weeks but I don't know why as I know things go wrong at any stage.

I'm seeing the midwife for my booking in tomorrow and will discuss my fears with her. But unless she has a crystal ball, I'm not sure if she can help.

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/11/2018 14:58

Welcome frazzle. it's so difficult and when they're teeny tiny and only so new dates can move around. I've been put back 3 days at early scans and two weeks later put forward 4 days. What's Ovusense? Is it OPKs or an app?

The first few weeks drag like nothing, it's exhausting and so hard to stop thinking about it all the time, though that's what I tried hard to do.

Do you want to have your booking appointment? If you can't face it you could cancel today and reschedule for a few week's time. With this pregnancy I didn't have mine till I was 11 weeks as I just couldn't be faffed with it until the last minute. I think it was a cancellation too so if you let them know I'm sure they won't mind.

Frazzlerock · 12/11/2018 15:32

Hi Anne Ovusense is a device that is a bit like a bulbous rubber tampon [grn]. You insert it in at night and it records your temp, then in the morning you sync to the app on your phone and it plots your temps on a chart and tells you when you're in your fertile window
I loved it and, even with PCOS, I got pregnant on the first cycle using it.

Yes I do want my booking appointment, I really need to speak to the midwife to help with my anxiety and worries. I will feel like it is 'official' you know? Not that it makes a jot of difference to the outcome

Thank you for welcoming me Smile

Labmum · 12/11/2018 17:39

Welcome @frazzle and @gemma. Sorry you both find yourself here in the crappy and anxiety filled world of pregnancy after loss. Why can't things just be easy for us all? But the good news is you are in good company. Lots of lovely ladies here to help try and keep you same!

I've got a slightly embarassing issue. Had a little varicose vein that appeared near my ankle that wasn't bothering me but this morning it would seem I've got one on my lady bits! Blush I mean of all the crappy undignified pregnancy symptoms this has to be the worst right?!

Labmum · 12/11/2018 17:42

^^ obviously not sorry that you're both pregnant again. Just that you had the losses in the first place that made you find yourself here. Hope that makes sense!

Miami81 · 12/11/2018 17:58

@Frazzlerock welcome and congrats, I am sure I have encountered you before on some of these boards. That temp thing sounds great, I have always found temping really useful.
Welcome @Gemmac15 I hope this one goes smoothly for you.
@AnneLovesGilbert movements are definitely getting more consistent which is lovely and seriously stressful all at once. We have our first big placenta scan tomorrow morning. I am a little stressed, went for pregnancy acupuncture earlier and I fainted!!! She called it needle shock and explained that my blood pressure will have been high due to stress and that when she put the needles in my bp will have overlowered if that makes sense which caused the fainting.
Anyway scan is early tomorrow morning so that's good at least.
How are you?
I am distracting myself from stress with online buggy reviews. Last week it was maternity clothes.

Miami81 · 12/11/2018 17:59

@Labmum that is an 'interesting' symptom. Not one I have encountered myself. I hope it's not too uncomfortable. I would be tempted to go to pharmacist to see if they have anything that can help.

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/11/2018 18:29

Hey miami, shopping has got to be one of the best bits, though I’ve been reluctant to embrace it till very recently. What have you bought?! ASOS came up trumps for two pairs of jeans, I got a dress off eBay and I’m wearing my jersey pencil skirts, long vests and jumpers till they burst. My mum kindly bought us a next to me style cot thing and I got a free baby box from the baby box company for watching some videos. So it has TWO things to sleep in. Not got anything else but might slowly start to gather bits.

Best of luck for your morning scan, will send thoughts as always, and very glad movements are increasing.

Poor you fainting! Hope you didn’t hurt yourself.

I’m okay thanks. Finding work so tiring and brain wearying I could cry this evening tbh. Also finding the being public property thing a bit unnerving. Endless random comments and advice from the oddest quarters. Yes it’s a sizeable bump but my brain still works and it’s weird when people stare or say things.

Otherwise I’m okay, mostly pretty comfortable with off and on heartburn ajd sciatica. Still loving acupuncture once a month.

Oh labmum you poor love! Does it hurt? I’m sure there’s something you can take or put on it. Sending a gentle hug x

Paranormalbouquet · 12/11/2018 19:53

Labmum vulvar varicosities are sadly very common in pregnancy. As are their cousin, piles. Not fun! Had a long day at work (last one!) and am having lots of braxton hicks now which is weird! Got a bit flustered at my disorganisation yesterday so ordered lots of stuff online. Just makes me realise how much I’ve been expecting everything to go wrong.

Miami81 · 12/11/2018 19:55

I have bought so much on Asos and most has gone back. I am living in my jeans from them though.
Leggings are my saviour. Been wearing them with long tunic type tops from joules over the top.
Oh I still just look fat so no one is commenting thankfully.
That's lovely of your mom.
I got my baby box form the last day from the midwife (in Scotland) but I won't be applying for it until after Christmas I think.

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/11/2018 21:26

I’m sure you look beautiful miami Smile

I need some leggings and some new sleep bras. Thankfully my boobs have stopped hurting but they’re so heavy and my nipples have got massive and my ancient primark sleep bras are digging in over night. I really haven’t wanted to spend much but ended up buying two proper new bras from figleaves which have been brilliant.

My mum didn’t want to get too attached for a long time but she’s gone into overdrive the last couple of weeks and is knitting and sending me endless articles, she’s overwhelming at times but very sweet. First GC on my side (we’re NC with DH insane family) and they’re all being very lovely.

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 07:46

Can I ask when did you ladies start buying maternity stuff? I'm so early yet my jeans are just not majorly comfortable anymore 😂

Vuduvu · 13/11/2018 08:48

Good luck for your scan today @miami81

Hopefulforourrainbow · 13/11/2018 09:04

Hi I've been hovering about this thread too scared to join but I wanted to wish you luck for your scan @miami81. I recognise a lot of names from the mc thread and I'm so pleased to hear your pregnancies are progressing well.
For those who don't know me, this is my 4th pregnancy. I had mmc at 13 weeks which stopped growing at 5+6, an early mc between 5 and 6 weeks and a pregnancy of unknown location/ectopic. All tests at rmc came back negative though I'm on aspirin and cyclogest this time. We had a 6 month break from trying and I am now 9+5. I have had some spotting on and off since around 6 weeks. Early scan at 7 weeks showed a strong heartbeat (we've never got to that stage before) and measured at 6+4 and we have another scan on Thursday. The spotting had stopped for almost 2 weeks and there was more on Saturday. Until then I was starting to feel more positive and think it might actually be ok this time. I have been feeling super anxious. Hoping for a good scan on Thursday so I can hopefully relax a bit though I do know it can go wrong at any stage 😕

Hopefulforourrainbow · 13/11/2018 09:04

Sorry for the essay!

Labmum · 13/11/2018 09:12

Good luck today @Miami!

@Delilah I started wearing/buying maternity stuff around 12-13 weeks, it was mainly trousers that were an issue early on. You can generally get away with just wearing looser fit tops and dresses/long tops with leggings. Especially with winter coming up you can hide bloating under baggy jumpers. I used a hair bobble to extend the buttons on my trousers if they felt tight.

@Anne so lovely that your Mum is getting excited now. My Mum's been starting on the knitting too! Nice you've started to get a few bits too, helps with the feeling that it's actually real. How are movements coming along?

I'll speak to my midwife next week about the varicose vein. Is was a bit sore yesterday, felt like a bruise but it's settled today, my leg one was similar when it appeared, sore for a couple of days then settled. Really hoping they go away when baby arrives! My Mum has terrible varicose veins so I'm genetically fighting a losing battle unfortunately.

Labmum · 13/11/2018 09:14

Welcome @hopeful. Got everything crossed for you on Thursday!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 13/11/2018 09:23

Wonderful to see some new names and to see the old names progressing nicely!

Good luck for your scan today @Miami!

I’m 11+3 today and am finding that my symptoms are starting to fade a little bit. My boobs are still slightly sore but nothing like they’ve been over the past couple of weeks and I’m not being sick and retching as soon as I wake up although I still feel nauseous on and off throughout the day. Hoping this is normal, guessing it is!

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/11/2018 10:11

Hopeful! Lovely to see you here Smile Sorry it's been a rocky ride so far, bleeding is terrifying. Good they're keeping an eye on you and your baby. I've fallen foul of the stats a couple of times so know they don't always help but the outcome of a heartbeat at 9+5 is very good and your aspirin and cyclo are supporting the pregnancy. Every day your baby is getting stronger and sturdier. How are you finding the cyclo? I know you were worried about bleeding vs IBS. It's all such a joy...!

Hope scan goes well this morning Miami x

Bless your Mum lab, she sounds lovely. Yes, it's taken a while to want to have anything in the house tbh but we had a massive chat the other night about money and space and what we need and a mild general panic about not being ready, even though we have plenty of time, so just started slowly getting my head in the game. The baby box means we have somewhere to put stuff too.

Movements are off and on, most nights I have some between about 8 and 10, at the weekend had some both morning. Very light, certainly no proper kicking or anything but so reassuring to feel anything at all!

Really hope your poor vein settles, definitely see someone if you need to.

Totally normal iswallow! Still finding things coming and going tbh, had terrible boob pain, then nothing, then a day of it, then nothing. The placenta is taking over a lot of the work around 11/12 weeks so you can feel better and not worry about it, enjoy Smile

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 10:20

Can I also ask - last week I was 5 weeks 3 days and went for a blood test. They've come back at HCG of 1150. Is that good??

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/11/2018 10:36

Sounds good Deliliah, the range varies massively, so it's more about the rate it increases between two tests. Have you had a second one? It's meant to double over 48 hours.

On clothes, I've been in progesterone suppositories since BFP which gave me mega bloating that never went away and just moved down slightly when it turned into a bump, so I've been trying to dress and hide a bowling ball since about 6 weeks. I wear skirts and dresses for work so just carried on with drapes cardis over the top and then stopped bothering to hide it around 12 weeks though we didn't tell anyone and just hoped people would be too polite to ask! When you need clothes, you need clothes, so pick up what you need anytime and keep yourself comfy. There's loads on eBay and it's hit and miss but worth a go if you don't want to spend much to start with. Also asks as Miami says, free returns which is handy.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 13/11/2018 10:36

@Delilah that sounds fine. I don’t think the actual levels matter so much it’s more that they’re doubling every 48 hours which I’m sure they are!
