Wrong Due date?

Deanna9 · 03/06/2018 10:20

I have a question about my due date, I and my partner think it's wrong going on what we know about ovulation.

Period on the 30th Sept 17- 3rd Oct 17

Sex on the 6 oct 17

Sex on the 20th oct 17

Period on the 21st oct 17- 23rd Oct 17

This makes conception after the 20th impossible so how is my due date the 6th sug 18.

Ive not had sex at all since the 20th of October so I know I can't have gotten pregnant after that.

They date it from the first day of your last period not fron when you actually conceived.

dementedpixie · 03/06/2018 10:28

Plus they will go by the size of the baby on the scan

Bluebirdsky · 03/06/2018 10:39

Even if you know when you had sex you can't know exactly what date implantation occurred so I really wouldn't overthink it too much.

JustVent · 03/06/2018 10:42

6th sug 18?

I’ve worked it out at 7th July going by your last period.

dementedpixie · 03/06/2018 10:44

Last period was 21 Oct btw

Celebelly · 03/06/2018 10:44

Something seems weird with dates. You conceived the day before your period?

Celebelly · 03/06/2018 10:45

Have you had a scan yet?

dementedpixie · 03/06/2018 10:46

I hope shes had a scan as she's approx 32 weeks pregnant!

JustVent · 03/06/2018 10:48

Oh I missed that.

Then you definitely had sex in October.

Celebelly · 03/06/2018 10:48

Well that's why I'm confused. I can't see a scan being a month out, so I'm wondering if the dates posted are right.

Celebelly · 03/06/2018 10:54

Going off the last period, the due date is more accurate but she has to have conceived 20th Oct at the latest because she says she didn't have sex after that. So going by that as a conception day, it's almost a month off. Although that would mean she had a period the day after the sex that ended in conception which is also unlikely. So who knows!

Deanna9 · 03/06/2018 11:01

Hence the confusion ladies, I've defiantly not had sex since the 20th October 2017. Going on the NHS calculator from period on the 30th Sept it gives me a due date of the 30th june but with having sex on the 6th Oct that makes it approximately the 13th July. Either way a due date of 6th Aug seems impossible.

JustVent · 03/06/2018 11:01

No she definitely had sex after that.

Is it possible that it’s not your partners and they have just twigged....?

Celebelly · 03/06/2018 11:06

It's weird but the scans and growth measurements should be more accurate I would imagine. They would have spotted it at the 12/20 week scan if it was a few weeks out I'd have thought. Mysterious!

BillowingFluffs · 03/06/2018 11:07

I'm confused. You had af on 21st October? How can you be pregnant if you had af after the last time you had sex?

Deanna9 · 03/06/2018 11:08

I've not slept with anyone but my fiancé thank you.

OP posts:
Deanna9 · 03/06/2018 11:09

I had what I thought was a period on the 21st oct yes. I bled the same as my period and on exactly the date I was expecting it.

OP posts:
BillowingFluffs · 03/06/2018 11:16

It's all very odd. What date did you have your 12 week scan? Did the size of the baby match up to what you were expecting week wise? For example, during my first pregnancy I had my scan at 12 + 4 but Baby was measuring at 13 + 1 so they adjusted my due date to match baby's size rather than the date of my last af.

BillowingFluffs · 03/06/2018 11:18

Even if they'd taken the date of your last bleed (21st Oct) it still wouldn't be a due date in August. It's very peculiar and sounds like something is out.

Deanna9 · 03/06/2018 11:26

Had 12 weeks scan on the 26th Jan.
Baby measured 12+4 then.
I should have been 17 weeks going on 30 Sept.
Going on 21st oct I should have been 15 weeks.

So both pretty far out.

OP posts:
JustVent · 03/06/2018 11:39

So you had your 12 week scan and you were 12+4.
That’s not far out, that’s spot on.

Then you would have your 20 week scan, so what happened there?

JustVent · 03/06/2018 11:42

They have to plan your 12 week scan from something. From the information they get form you.
And they managed to get it pretty accurate, they can’t just ‘guess’ when you are 12 weeks.

So whatever information you gave them is not the same information as you have put here.

You’re missing something huge in this information, it’s as black and white as that.

Eatsleepworkrepeat · 03/06/2018 11:47

Why did you have your 12 week scan when you thought you were 17 weeks?

Liz3891 · 03/06/2018 11:48

JustVent, I think she's saying:

On 26 January she was measuring 12+4 but if her LMP was 30 September, she should have been 17 weeks, not 12 weeks. If her LMP was the 21st of October, she should have been 15 weeks on January 26. She says she didn't have sex after 20 October, meaning either the scan was out by 2.5 weeks or 5 weeks which both seem unusual.

JustVent · 03/06/2018 11:51

I read what she is saying.

But they would have arranged her 12 week scan in her 12th week with the information she gave them.

And it was accurate because at her 12 week scan she was 12+4.

Why question the dates after that? Clearly the above dates are absolutely incorrect but the dates she initially gave them to book her 12 week scan would have been correct.
