Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Looks like I can get one when I'm six weeks, for £79. Think I might go for it. What does a vaginal scan involve?

purplesmiler · 01/06/2018 16:27

@jeanzbeanz it is a probe that goes a few inches inside you (soft at the end) , I have felt comfortable when having them. A little bit like when you have a smear at the start but after that initial moment they are ok. It gives much clearer pictures in early pregnancy.

RLH18 · 01/06/2018 16:43

It’s so tempting to get an early scan @jeanzbeanz if only to justify feeling so bad 🙈

jeanzbeanz · 01/06/2018 17:16

@purplesmiler thanks for the inside info Wink

I'd definitely feel more confident if I'd seen a heartbeat!

Buttercup53 · 01/06/2018 18:36

Checking in here so I have people to talk to! According to the nhs calculator I’m due 10th Jan, but after an early scan (suspected ectopic - all clear, saw the heart beat) the person doing the scan said I’m a bit further along than that - so I’m telling myself I’m about 8 weeks, 5 days. Symptoms have been nausea, heart burn, bloating, gigantic boobs, and my mood is all over the place. I have MH problems anyway, so I’m mostly concerned over my mental state while the hormones are doing their thing. However all symptoms seem to come and go, don’t feel the same one day to the next!

Cloud9889 · 01/06/2018 19:11

Was chatting to my friend yesterday . This is a bit cheeky but she knows of a few close friends who have got early scans by saying they can’t remember/ not sure of when their period was. Not sure I really agree with doing this in principle but if your skint and really want an early scan you could try going down the route of ‘not sure when period eas’ As like my friends friends you may get offered an early scan

Miffy201 · 01/06/2018 19:19

@LJFM2B @rainylake Thank you! It was such a relief and I'm definitely feeling less worried now that I know my little bean is in the right place and growing nicely so far. I'm definitely going to try and relax more now Grin

mylittlebean2019 · 01/06/2018 22:17

Hello everyone!

I have been stalking this thread for a while now but been too worried to post in case i jynxed anything! But today I had an early scan to check that everything is ok and thankfully everything is looking really good! 8 weeks exactly so due 11th Jan. It was such a relief to see a little bean inside and seeing the heartbeat was amazing! Would definitely recommend an early scan to anyone feeling anxious as I feel a lot less stressed already and can now enjoy early pregnancy!

This is my first pregnancy. I married my DH in April so bean is a honeymoon baby... feeling blessed we got pregnant on our first try! Can’t wait to share the news with our parents this weekend (will be my mums first grandchild)!

So far I’ve just had waves of nausea (but not been sick), had really sore boobs, I can’t stop eating so always feeling bloated (which makes me look 6months pregnant!), I now get out of breath really quickly and always feeling shattered!!

Trying to keep the pregnancy a secret has been hard because I’ve told people that I’m not drinking because I’m trying to be healthy but then I go and eat a giant pizza so not sure how many of my friends believe my cover story! Not planning on telling friends until my 12 week scan (which isn’t until week 14)!

Has anyone started to look at or book NCT classes? I’ve found the one I want to do but don’t know if it’s too early to sign up!

Looking forward to getting to know you Jan mummys-to-be over the next 7 months! Smile

jennytot84 · 01/06/2018 22:42

Please can someone help me. I'm about 7 weeks and have been experiencing nausea and severe dizziness/lightheaded, with occasional sharp pain in my sides. I'm really worried. I've been off work the past 2 days bc I've not been fit to drive.
I've not had my booking appointment yet so I don't know who to ring or what to do.

cryptonaut · 01/06/2018 23:44

@jennytot84 you will need to speak to a GP, but since it's now the weekend you'll need to contact your local out of hours service or 111. Tell them straight away that you're pregnant and you're really worried and want to get checked over. It's probably just that the symptoms are hitting you hard but best to get professional advice if you're worried.

Virgo89 · 02/06/2018 00:06

@mylittlebean2019 Congratulations on your honeymoon baby! Do you know how you'll be sharing the news with your parents?

I really wanted to keep it a secret until the 12 week scan but it looks as though I've been rumbled by my sister after spending a weekend in the sun with her and me not drinking any cider! She outright asked me if I was pregnant but I wasn't ready to tell. Feel like she's ruined the surprise now, boo! Have my booking in appointment next Friday and the first scan booked for 4th July. Feels like forever away!

I haven't looked into NCT classes, what do they involve?

bakingdemon · 02/06/2018 08:54

I am already sick of needing to get up four or five times in the middle of the night for a wee, but that's only going to get worse isn't it?

Jebbs · 02/06/2018 10:15

@LJFM2B I've had a couple of dizzy spells but thankfully nothing for a few days now. If they are happening frequently you might want to check with your midwife. Ditto if accompanied by blurry vision. From what I've read it's not that uncommon, especially as the pregnancy progresses, and not something to worry about unless accompanied by other stuff.

jeanzbeanz · 02/06/2018 11:02

I did a clear blue test this morning which confirmed the pregnancy and said I'm 2-3 wks past conception.

Husband is sooo excited so we ended up going round to my parents and telling them the news!

jennytot84 · 02/06/2018 12:28

Thank you for your comments, I ended up ringing 111 this morning, still waiting for a call back. A few of the questions made me think, went away and looked up the side effects of the pregnancy vitamins I am taking, and also the fact I have come off my anti depressants which can cause havoc and cause my symptoms.
Back to the docs on Monday to discuss alternatives x

Buttercup53 · 02/06/2018 14:34

Did you come off your anti depressants suddenly? There’s some nasty physical side effects from coming off them without tapering - so the things you are feeling could just be normal pregnancy symptoms, or it could be the side effects of the anti depressants. I’d recommended mentioning them to the GP who calls you back, I don’t think people tend to realise that they can effect you physically as well as mentally. Hope you feel better soon!

Cariadxx · 02/06/2018 14:59

@bakingdemon probably!! How many weeks are you?

bakingdemon · 02/06/2018 16:26

@Cariadxx about nine weeks. How can something the size of a pecan nut be putting this much pressure on my bladder already?!

Merrz · 02/06/2018 16:56

I haven't been needing to pee more but omg I'm soo tiered, thank God it's the weekend, I could happily snooze all day.

RLH18 · 02/06/2018 17:14

Has anyone suffered from back pain at 6 weeks? Not low in my hips/pelvis, more the middle of my bacK. Just aching and things like sitting in the car set it off. Could it be a sign of anything sinister?

sexnotgender · 02/06/2018 18:01

The tiredness is overwhelming today!
Literally slept for 2 hours this afternoon, utter exhaustion.

sexnotgender · 02/06/2018 18:03

@bakingdemon I was the same but it’s easing off now. Apparently it gets better as the uterus lifts up out your pelvis.

Merrz · 02/06/2018 18:45

I just never expected pregnancy to be so flooring, especially this early on.

peaches1991 · 02/06/2018 18:54

@Merrz that's how I feel! I've had a week off and some days I've had two naps of 2+ hours...I don't know how I'm going to cope back at work next week!

Jebbs · 02/06/2018 19:00

@bakingdemon If you've not done it already, try avoiding drinking anything much in the evening. Not a health issue if you've drunk plenty earlier in the day but I've found it helps cut down on night trips as it's taken care of during the evening (and I have water by my bed to start the next day).
