Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Is this your 1st peaches? I've found work really hard going this week, I've spent every evening on the sofa and today I've spent a max of half an hour doing anything before I need another lie down. I Can't get anything done!! We weren't planning on telling people until after the 12 week scan but I'm sure people will notice if I carry on like this Confused

sexnotgender · 02/06/2018 19:11

I'm the same merrz, you couldn't have paid me to get off the sofa this afternoon!

Merrz · 02/06/2018 19:19

I keep telling myself it's just the shock to the body, it'll wear off soon, I hope!!

peaches1991 · 02/06/2018 20:16

@Merrz yes it's my first, is it yours? I don't know how people cope when they already have DCs - hats off to them! We had to tell my family this week because I was really ill and a few people in SLT at work know, hoping we can wait till 12 weeks to tell anyone else. I work in a tiny department (as in there's two of us) so not sure how I'm going to hide it from my colleague!

Merrz · 02/06/2018 20:50

1st for me too. It's reassuring to know other people are going through the same.

ohhellojo · 02/06/2018 21:01

@RLH18 yupp, if I stand still for more than a minute I have to start rubbing my back around the waist. I’ve found (annoyingly) that if I have the heated seats on in the car my back feels 💯 better, but then I sweat everywhere... 🙈

sexnotgender · 02/06/2018 21:10

This is technically my second but my first will be 15(!) by the time this one is born so I feel like a first time mum again.

Hotdamndiggitydam · 03/06/2018 12:21

Is anyone else suffering from the odd twinges? Seems to be if I’m sat in a funny position (which is probably always given my spot on our sofas) or when I’ve been walking around for a while. It’s at alternate sides of my uterus and sometimes in my back. My lower back is fairy sore too. Twisting is a problem.

I wouldn’t say it’s painful, just enough to notice. But, then again, my mind overthinks everything when I’m not doing much so who knows.

It’s funny because I’ve known of other people’s pregnancies from early on and their first trimester seem to fly by (for me, obvs) but, my god, these last two weeks from getting that BFP feel like the longest! January seems like a life time away.

Izniz · 03/06/2018 17:40

@hotdamndiggitydam I am having exactly the same cramps / twinges! It really stresses me out. So keen to have my six week scan next week so I can relax a bit....

Hotdamndiggitydam · 03/06/2018 18:24

@lzniz ohh good luck! I swore I’d stop googling but it seems to be normal. It could be something from the relaxin loseningbup your muscles, round ligament pain or sciatica so fingers crossed for us Smile.

bakingdemon · 03/06/2018 21:43

@Jebbs it's just so hot at the moment that I can't not drink lots of water - I get very headachey otherwise

Nasha86uk · 03/06/2018 22:03

I am due on the 4th of jan, not planned but happy and excited of course but I am bricking it abit as I have a 19 month old already xx

Merrz · 04/06/2018 06:03

Congratulations Nasha86
Good Luck with getting through Monday for everyone feeling rubbish Sad

Changedmaname · 04/06/2018 08:55

Congratulations Nasha86uk. Smile

Well my nausea has started and I can't stop burping Blush. So far it has only been in the morning / earlier part of the day, or if I get hungry... so praying it stays that way rather than the 24/7 I had last time. Stocked up on healthy snacks to have handy at all times. Nipples are agony so feeding toddler isn't much fun. I'm just trying to be grateful for symptoms right now and focusing on the fact I only have to manage two days of solo childcare a week! Grin

LJFM2B · 04/06/2018 08:57

Congratulations to all newbies!!!

@jeanzbeanz internal scan is just a bit intrusive because of the location but i think us ladies may need to get used to doctors looking and or touching our bits and bobs!! its well well worth the few minutes of awkwardness!! ... it doesnt hurt too just bit weird!! i hated having a smear so im a woss!

@RLH18 Iv been getting lower back pain since early on and had scan all was good so i dont think anything to worry about?

@mylittlebean2019 Iv already looked at NTC classes - i plan to book pretty much the minute i come out of my 12 week scan haha but i have already applied for hypno birthing one because apparently that gets booked up

@jennytot84 Hopefully 111 were helpful, id say the only thing to ease your mind would be a reassurance scan?!

@Jebbs thanks for reassuring me im not the only one experiencing the dizzy thing, its not often enough to go to GP just happened twice and read the same as you so thought id check on here with 'real people'

Hope everyone's feeling well today! I have a scan Wednesday so i am COUNTING DOWN the hours - a little anxious too

Nasha86uk · 04/06/2018 10:15

I seem to always be hungry now, I had previously lost nearly 3 stone with slimming world and was at target, definitely going to be putting it all back on lol!, can’t wait for my scan to come though

LJFM2B · 04/06/2018 10:35

I cant wait to get a fixed due date to count down for :) at the moment mines changed twice and think it will be changing again Wednesday and possibly again at the 12 week one too :)

Buttercup53 · 04/06/2018 10:39

I have my first midwife appointment on Thursday - can anyone who’s had one already let me know what will happen and if I need to do anything for it? I’m planning on writing some questions down that I have, but do I need to know any specific information? Will I need to give samples?

Changedmaname · 04/06/2018 10:59

Buttercup53 first midwife appointment is mainly just answering a load of questions about your health and family history, etc. It's actually quite boring to be honest. Well over two years since my last one so I can't remember if they do bloods at first appointment or if you will need a urine sample, but if they do you will be able to do one there. Good luck!

LJFM2B · 04/06/2018 11:35

@Buttercup53 Its nice, you meet your MW and she goes through ALOT of questions as @changedmaname mentioned - all about health, history and home life! .. my place asks to take a urine sample so i went to Drs on my way and got a pot from the receptionist and took one with me.

You may be sent to the hospital after for your first blood test too!! which you get your results for when you visit on your 16 week MW appointment (unless they find something off and have to call before of course) ....

If your lucky they may give you a folder to keep your paper work in which has some free sample vouchers in!

lotbyname · 04/06/2018 11:52

Hello hello! Baby due 'fingers crossed' 9th Jan. My son will be 2 y 3m then. 2 childen under 3 will be fiiiiinnnnee.

Im rather worried as few symptoms. Boobs i guess are fine cos stil bfing pfb. I'm hoping the lack of morning sickness is that too. Apparently breastfeeding can reduce nausea in some people. We shall see! I've got a private scan on Friday.

As far as i recall the booking in appointment is a chat. I struggled to remember some of my medical history though. Might be worth asking relations about any history of birth defects or problems in pregancy, genetic issues etc. No worries if do, the most that will happen is extra monitoring. You do pee, the hospital had pots but where short on those helpful trays to pee in. They took bloods as a base line for anaemia etc. Weighted you as well. I got my baby folder with samples. It was quite jolly really.

Nasha86uk · 04/06/2018 12:18

When I had my first midwife booking my appointment was at 1.30 and I didn’t come out till 2.50, she just asks all your medical history and previous babies I had to write my three down as I know i would of gone blank when asked lol, is anyone already in leggings and showing already or is it just bloat?

Changedmaname · 04/06/2018 12:19

@Lotbyname - yay another breastfeeding pregnant lady on the thread! My PFB will be 2yr 6m when No. 2 comes along at the end of January. I am bricking it. I had planned for a slightly bigger gap, but we decided to get some TTC practice in and fell pregnant first month. Totally unexpected. I am obviously thrilled though.

How are you finding BF pregnant? My nipples are so sore already, feeding is really painful. I am also worried about the impact of my milk drying up on DC1. He is such a breast pest and feeds a LOT still. Trying to cut down gradually now so it's not such a shock for him if/when the milk goes. I can't help but feel a bit guilty.

2sonsplus1 · 04/06/2018 12:20

Hi, I have a 3yr old and 1 yr old and we thought our family was complete when surprise! I don't know how I feel at all. I am starting to worry about everything already - money, house, car , work etc.... how on earth do people cope with 3!!!

bakingdemon · 04/06/2018 12:48

Got my letter with booking in appt confirmed for next week! My SIL and other friends who've had babies in the same city say you get lots of questions which seem mainly aimed at supporting women in some minority communities - eg are you related to your partner - and that they allow a lot longer in case you need a translator.
