Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

@letsallhaveanap 😂😂 at the sheep i dont think they would make very good mw or birthing partners!!
@mustbemad17 i hope all goes well and you get your water birth too (hopefully baby will take the hint and move out with the 1st!)
@Embracethechaosmassive congrats!! I hope it wasn't too hard of a labour!! You were having a little girl weren't you? How early were you?

Congratulations Embrace!!!

We too have our little man safe & sound. He decided to wing his way here rather fast, arriving at 06.31am this morning weighing an eye watering 9lbs 6oz 🙈 no water pool as no time but i did get my home birth which means i am of course now sat on the sofa in just my pants 😂 little man is gorgeous, healthy & happy & his big sister got a lovely cuddle before she headed off to school. My body is now screaming at me 'for the love of god woman WHY did you do that again' so i'm placating it with tasty treats haha

letsallhaveanap · 21/06/2018 11:02

Hooray!! Two new babies! Congrats Embrace and Mustbe!

@mustbe - glad you didn’t have to go through with the induction in the end. And you’re a hero for getting out such a little chunk!

Be good to yourselves, ladies, and enjoy your fresh baby cuddles!

lmx0 · 21/06/2018 11:41

@mustbemad17 aww that is brilliant news!!! He really knows how to make an entrance!!!! Glad you didnt need the induction in the end enjoy all the cuddles!!! 💙

SiolGhoraidh · 21/06/2018 12:29

Congrats on the new arrivals ladies!

Embracethechaos · 21/06/2018 14:55

It was 30 hours from waters breaking to baby being delivered, babys gorgeous, brilliant feeder and eater but developed jaundice which is improving. Baby in the bay next is a couple of days older also with jaundice. It was not easy, bit of a blur, was induced, then went on the gas and air then epidural, was nill by mouth during labor and so proud I pushed her out after the doctors were preparing for a forceps delivery. Lost I lot of blood and dropped a huge clot when I went to the loo after my catheter being removed. Got mobile quickly but I'm struggling with sleep on a ward, loving the free hot, regular meels though. 37 weeks today and can't believe how big she is. I nearly passed out today after I washed. I had only washed my feet and legs and used damp paper cloths since Sunday and it's so hot for babies. We can't be discharged tonight, I may go for a walk out this afternoon if I'm allowed as dh can stay with baby (doing bottle feeds on top of me breastfeeding) life's a race for my girl, shes had lots of picks, tests and a cannula but sleeps it all off, dreaming and slowly opening her eyes to mine and dh voice.

Embracethechaos · 21/06/2018 15:08

I felt I'd failed when I went for the epidural, It was all worth it for that final moment, legs in stirrups when I pushed her out with midwife and dh talking me through pushes with the distraction of a screamer in another room in the final moments. And seeing my dh cry while baby was put on my chest, covered in blood coughing up mucous then crying and looking to feed. Might not seem magical but we were bonding as a family while I was being sutured. Pushed her out at 2:30 am on a quarter of a wrap and 3 mandms the day before. Definitely not a fail.

KTD27 · 21/06/2018 15:10

Oh my goodness!! Congrats to both of you!!
So exciting the babies are arriving 😀

letsallhaveanap · 21/06/2018 16:57

embracethechaos you didnt fail by going for the epidural!! Induction is super painful... I had an epidural with my induction and would not hesitate to again if I get induced! Despite planning and hoping on a home birth this time...

It does seem magical and she sounds wonderful!! So happy for you! Cant wait to meet my daughter now!

mustbemad17 · 21/06/2018 17:26

Embrace absolutely NOTHING about your birth was a failure, knock that right out of your head! You had a bloody long labour & you delivered a healthy bubba...i call that success from every angle!

Little man is sleepy & feeding very little in contrast to your princess, a very new learning curve for me as i didn't bf much with DD. Let the new journies commence

lmx0 · 21/06/2018 17:57

@Embracethechaos deffo not a fail!!!! To carry a baby then endure however long a labour (30hours WOW!!) and give birth to said baby is far from being a failure!!! Fresh air will do you good but dont push yourself to much!!
@mustbemad17 hows the bf going?

mustbemad17 · 21/06/2018 18:20

Slowly. He is fussing a lot but he keeps coughing up the mucous crap so think that's holding him back. We have some syringes of colostrum in case, and the MW is due again tomorrow so i'm not too worried

LostMyBaubles · 21/06/2018 18:31

Embrace you didn't fail at all!
You've delivered a beautiful little human! Well done!!

Must!!! That was quick!! Well done!!!

Congrats to you both!!!!

LostMyBaubles · 21/06/2018 18:35

Had an appt with the mw today

Baby is measuring 8 weeks ahead Hmm
Well bump is measuring 37 weeks and im 29.

See her in 2 weeks and scan the week after.
I was hoping measurements had kinda kepts at 33 from last week or atleast be 1 week out

A lil word about how they wont intervene yet. They want him in a lil longer and will make choice after the scan which is more accurate

As for the rumblings dunno really? Maybe because womb has been stretched so much in the past.

If I get any more bleeding/ pain to ring triage

lmx0 · 21/06/2018 20:15

@mustbemad17 yeah you would imagine the mucus would have something to do with it as long as your happy n not worried thats all that great
@LostMyBaubles hopefully you have a quite few weeks until they decide what they want to do after the scan

Embracethechaos · 22/06/2018 06:15

I'm so confused with numbers. I got an email yesterday about my 37th week of pregnancy.

KTD27 · 22/06/2018 10:06

Baby is head down! Hoorah.
All looks great with growth - they aren’t monsterous despite my huge bump and haven’t got an off the scale head like their big brother did.
I’ve booked in a section for term as I don’t want to go overdue but they can only fit me in at 39+2 as the following week is booked up! I’m going to see how I feel and if I get to it and want to push it back she said that would be fine and probably slots will have opened up. So we have a plan!
Off to order some raspberry leaf tea and get some Accupuncture/ reflexology in the meantime to try and encourage spontaneous labour

lmx0 · 22/06/2018 12:23

@KTD27 many weeks are you now? I had a look at raspberry leaf tea the other day but most sites recommended starting from 32 weeks have any of your other ladies took it? Thats good you have a plan in place and that they are pretty flexible if you were to go into labour yourself will you still have a section?

KTD27 · 22/06/2018 12:36

Ideally not no. I just don’t want the recovery with my clingy toddler - the c section I had with him was glorious so the operation doesn’t bother me it’s just the afterwards. Still if I get to 39+2 I’ll probably be desperate to get baby out so I can see that being the way it goes.
I’m 37 weeks Sunday. That’s interesting you say from 32 weeks! My mums a midwife and she wouldn’t let me touch it until now. She must believe it can move things along right enough!!

lmx0 · 22/06/2018 13:40

@KTD27 i was very surprised they say from 32 weeks too but i think its to build it up start with one a day and work up to three but id say your mum would prob know better!!! No harm in starting now!! I might get some and start from 37 weeks too (just incase its that good!) i can see where u are coming from a toddler newborn and recovery would be very hard work!!

letsallhaveanap · 22/06/2018 19:50

I drank it when pregnant with my son, from 32 weeks... and I still went two weeks overdue and had to be induced! I also ate two whole pineapples.. did nothing except make me feel quite sick!

SK166 · 22/06/2018 20:27

The supposed benefit of raspberry leaf tea isn't to bring on labour - it's to do with a compound it contains that helps tone the uterine muscle so can help with efficiency of contractions. There isn't great evidence for any of it but hey, it's tea...it can't hurt, right?!
