Reduced Movement 37 Weeks...waiting...

Hello,

Currently doing the "lay on my side for 2 hours" thing as advised by a midwife when I phoned up worried about reduced movement. I'm 37+3 and got the feeling they were super busy when I phoned :(

Half an hour in and haven't felt a thing and getting super super worried! I'm not sure if I've felt little flutters but they are just cushioned now due to the baby being so big?

Has anyone any experience of this?

Thanks!

Good luck OP. Glad to see the update. Hope you're getting a couple of hours kip before it all kicks off. So glad you went in! You'll meet your wee baby soon - exciting times.

Sparklesdontshine · 01/04/2018 08:44

Good luck op, have they scanned You, or just decided to induce based on reduced movements?

Hope you are sleeping and baby is ok Flowers

MumApr18 So pleased you went into hospital to get checked. We all have our stories and it's fantastic you are in the right place. Look forward to hearing your updates.

Wow, what a night you've had! I hope all goes smoothly this morning, and your baby arrives safely!

Eek another ‘first thing I thought of this morning’ person here, coffee time now.

Caspiana · 01/04/2018 09:12

Good luck! How exciting to meet your little one soon!

I’m high risk due to 5 episodes of reduced movements so I’ve read this thread with interest. My hospital have been brilliant whenever I have rung up about it. I’m sorry the midwife was rubbish when you rang, well done for standing your ground.

All the best for the birth - please let us know when your little one arrives! Flowers

All the best!!Flowers

OnNaturesCourse · 01/04/2018 09:20

They didn't until little one arrived, they just knew something wasn't right given all the episodes of reduced movement and then no movement. All scans etc showed everything OK, I'm glad my doctor just wasn't happy to take the chance of leaving me.

Just caught up with this thread. Glad you went in OP. Hope you’re managing to get a bit of sleep before labour really gets going.

MissCookie64 · 01/04/2018 09:22

Good luck OP

OnNaturesCourse · 01/04/2018 09:23

Just read the whole thread, good luck OP. How exciting!

BifsWif · 01/04/2018 09:38

I’m so pleased you went in!

Wishing your little one a very safe and speedy delivery Flowers

BunnyTeapot · 01/04/2018 09:40

Good luck OP ! How you getting on?

Badumdumdum · 01/04/2018 09:46

I'm really glad you are being induced.
I'm bloody furious with the midwives who told you things were fine.

BertieBotts · 01/04/2018 09:51

Hope everything is going well!

The beginning of this thread was worrying me quite a lot. It shows how dangerous partially understood advice can be - yes, cold drink advice is outdated, but that's because they would prefer you to come in and get checked vs trying to induce/monitor movement yourself at home, because this can be falsely reassuring. It would be much worse to do neither!

MadisonAvenue · 01/04/2018 09:52

Good luck!

Thank goodness you trusted your instinct and went in!

ducksandrivers · 01/04/2018 09:54

So pleased you've been induced op. My waters had gone the day before so I needed inducing and baby was here in less than 4 hours when I was put on the drip. Rest while you can! Good luck x

QueenCharming · 01/04/2018 09:54

Good luck! Currently 28 weeks pregnant and see that it is important to go with your gut instinct (and mumsnet Grin) on these things. Good for you OP!

Thundercatshoooo · 01/04/2018 10:11

Good luck op, so glad you followed your instincts and went in. I started reading the thread and was thinking, just go, ignore that midwife!! So relieved to see you did. Hope everything goes well with the induction.

shakeyourcaboose · 01/04/2018 10:11

Good luck April thinking of you and baby today!

Loyaultemelie · 01/04/2018 10:14

Good luck willing you on Thanks

Sushirolls · 01/04/2018 10:23
