Reduced Movement 37 Weeks...waiting...

Hello,

Currently doing the "lay on my side for 2 hours" thing as advised by a midwife when I phoned up worried about reduced movement. I'm 37+3 and got the feeling they were super busy when I phoned :(

Half an hour in and haven't felt a thing and getting super super worried! I'm not sure if I've felt little flutters but they are just cushioned now due to the baby being so big?

Has anyone any experience of this?

Thanks!

Awww thank you so much for all the love everyone! Such lovely messages :)
Just having another trace done for 20 mins and then they will check how the first dose of prostin got on and put in another one.
Looking forward to 11am as that's when fiancée can come in...been a long long night! Hoping he did the dishes before coming!!

OH should be with you by now 🎉 Hope the second lot of prostin is working it's magic Wink c'mon little one, we're waiting to hear of your arrival 🎉💕

My inductions all took a while to get going BUT no drips, no assisted delivery despite having an epidural so don't worry that a long drawn out time now will mean a "bad" birth Thanks

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 01/04/2018 11:43

Good luck op! Easter Smile

Cat12321 · 01/04/2018 11:45

Easter GrinThanks

Strawberry2017 · 01/04/2018 11:45

If they put you on the drip- from experience recently take the epidural first.
It's like 0-60 in pain and it's nothing like you would want to feel.
Good luck! X

Imnotacelebgetmeouttahere · 01/04/2018 11:56

Good luck! I’ve had 3 inductions ( and one emcs) and they’ve all been fast! I spent hours on the drip with nothing happening and then:

Dc1 3cm-out 21mins
Dc2 0cm-out 7mins
Dc4 3cm to out 16mins

SleepFreeZone · 01/04/2018 11:56

Good luck OP, this thread has had me 😭

FellOutOfBed2wice · 01/04/2018 12:15

Agree with Strawberry2017 I had the drip without an epidural and the pain went from manageable to someone-knock-me-over-the-head-with-a-brick-just-so-I’m-fucking-unconscious in about 15mins. It did encourage her to come out through (second baby). She was born within less than half an hour of the drip going in.

SleepFreeZone · 01/04/2018 12:19

I had the same falloutofbed 🤪

No time for epidural, they took my gas and air but left me the mouth piece which I bit down on like a crazy lady for the rest of my labour. She said the drip would make my contractions ‘more energetic’. Never have two words been such a total, fucking lie.

PinkAvocado · 01/04/2018 12:36

If I did it again with a drip, I’d insist on an epidural first too. Gas and air didn’t really cut it.

FellOutOfBed2wice · 01/04/2018 12:36

SleepFreeZone “more energetic”? 😆😂😆😆 that’s a great way of putting it. Why did they take your gas and air? I swear I would have killed with bare hands anyone who had even attempted to seoerate me from it.

spacecadet48 · 01/04/2018 12:38

MumApr18 it's such an exciting time. Hope all goes well and your gorgeous little bundle arrives safe and well.

Forevertired19 · 01/04/2018 12:39

Try a bath or orange juice. Or just go in. I'd go in personally.
Do you have an anterior placenta or anything?

OnNaturesCourse · 01/04/2018 12:42

The drip... Hell I've only had one baby but I'm glad to see it wasn't just me that thought it ramped the contractions up to 'I'd ask to be knocked out but I can't catch my breath to speak' kinda pain really quickly.

I had the pessary too and it got me to 3cm dilated in 24hours.

BrutusMcDogface · 01/04/2018 12:55

Ha, Forevertired - read the thread!! Grin

Forevertired19 · 01/04/2018 13:04

I just have haha, now I don't have my 11 month old climbing on me :)

Xanadu46 · 01/04/2018 13:34

Good luck ! Looking forward to baby news x

MumApr18 · 01/04/2018 13:37

Nothing exciting to report yet I'm afraid! Still very little in the way of contractions and no sign of waters going naturally. Meant to be on the birthing ball but after 45 mins all I want is a nap! Next prostin at 5pm which means trace in 2 hours. Will try nap when doing the trace I think x

Have they done a scan yet? Did I miss that? They still should.

Good luck OP and what MrsJoshDun. You need to complain about the advice on phone and keeping you waiting on arrival.

BrutusMcDogface · 01/04/2018 13:52

Have you had any sleep at all, April? Maybe you should try and get your head down rather than bounce on the ball? Still checking up on your progress every now and then, and rooting for you! Go April! Grin

Sushirolls · 01/04/2018 14:24

C'mon baby, we are all waiting here!! 😂😂 Xo

LostMyBaubles · 01/04/2018 14:47

Good luck!!!
Glad you went in when you did

Stinkbomb · 01/04/2018 14:51

Thinking of you mumapr18 hope you progress quickly and that you manage to nap x

ladymelbourne1926 · 01/04/2018 15:02
