Reduced Movement 37 Weeks...waiting...

Hello,

Currently doing the "lay on my side for 2 hours" thing as advised by a midwife when I phoned up worried about reduced movement. I'm 37+3 and got the feeling they were super busy when I phoned :(

Half an hour in and haven't felt a thing and getting super super worried! I'm not sure if I've felt little flutters but they are just cushioned now due to the baby being so big?

Has anyone any experience of this?

Thanks!

Woke up and came to check on you before I’ve even had my morning cuppa. That’s dedication!

ButtMuncher · 01/04/2018 07:34

Defo get some sleep in OP - you'll know when everything kicks off Grin I made the mistake of not sleeping enough and went straight into looking after a newborn on fuck all sleep Grin

Good luck Thanks

You would cope, you’re strong and ready Flowers
I went in early one morning and ds was born early the next. I didn’t know when I went in that that is how the day and night would pan out but I’m so glad it did! I said more than once, ‘apologies if I’m sounding like a diva but I’m more worried about the baby so...’ and no one thought I was being unreasonable even if they didn’t agree.

Tainrainrain · 01/04/2018 07:45

I know your exhausted but if possible and they unhook you from the monitors try and go for a walk. Maybe after you’ve had a sleep. It really helped my induction. X

Ratbagcatbag · 01/04/2018 07:49

I was induced with the drip as my waters had gone the day before.
Drip to baby was 4 hours!!!

Good luck today. Sleep whilst you can.

Smashpumpkin · 01/04/2018 07:59

Just the whole thread and wow I’m so glad you went in. Best of luck today. I hope things move along quickly and you meet your gorgeous little baby soon!

RosaBaby2 · 01/04/2018 08:15

Good luck, I also just woke up and came right on here to check! Glad they took you seriously in the end! Flowers

Good luck OP.

Good Luck for today. I had an Easter Sunday baby and she has grown into the most fabulous, capable young woman. She is a true "Sunday's child". The hospital gave all the babies an Easter egg ( before NHS cuts) but of course I had to help out by eating it! Grin

LexieLulu · 01/04/2018 08:20

CoperCabana · 01/04/2018 08:28

Wow, just caught up on this thread. Given they are inducing, assume they are concerned about something? Wishing you all the very best.

RandomMess · 01/04/2018 08:31

Hopefully things have got going now Thanks

MrsJoshDun · 01/04/2018 08:33

OP if you can find the time could you ask to make a verbal complaint about how long you were kept waiting once you arrived? Their policy of letting you wait like that will result in the death of a baby one day. I’m very glad that your baby is ok.....but it could have been a different story. They need to review their policy of how they triage women with reduced movements, they should take priority over pretty much everyone (apart from major bleeding, etc) including women contracting.

mossyroundhill · 01/04/2018 08:36

Good luck, OP! Flowers

Kintan · 01/04/2018 08:37

Glad your concerns were taking seriously in the end - best of luck for the induction. It can be a long and boring process, so hopefully you can get some sleep.

Just caught up, glad you went in and good luck for the imminent arrival!

GhirardelliSquare · 01/04/2018 08:41

Good luck OP!

I went in on Friday night for reduced movements but had a reassuring trace and have a scan booked for Monday. Thankfully I didn't have to wait as long as you to be seen and they were great.
