@Emma198 that's a shame she's not supportive - I think my boss will be absolutely fine policy wise - I think I'm just worried about her and my new teams reactions - when I think about it though if I was in a team and a new colleague fell pregnant I wouldn't be annoyed at all I'd be happy for them - and at least they have a long time to look for cover 😬

@Another I've started looking at what's about locally but I'm not sure what I want to do - I've read a bit about hypnobirthing and some aspects of that appeal to me and I've also looked at pregnancy yoga as I had a friend who said she absolutely loved the class when she was pregnant and it r ally helped to have some good stretches 👍🏼

Our local children's centres do a few antenatal sessions and they also run an aqua natal class too 🙂

@EL332 once, when discussing a lady who works for me whose son was very ill, she said "she is proof that you can't have children and have a career, you and me have made a decision to not have kids so we know that but we can't say that to other people". Different being she's nearly 50 and i was 29 and 6 months married!! I think it's a bit manipulative, she had no reason to believe I didn't want kids.

I'm quite interested in hynobirthing, need to read up a bit more.

Where are all you ladies based? I'm in the Lake District.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/05/2018 21:18

There won't be any hypnobirthing for me, I don't get much of a say in my birth plan! I think I'm just going to suck it up and fork out the £210 for the NCT course.

I'm in the armpit of south Somerset. Wish I was in the Lake District though!

ellsharks · 09/05/2018 21:50

Ooo what's hypnobirthing? I'm in Hertfordshire just north of London x

I'm attempt a spin class this morning. I'm exhausted just after my pre-gym shower. If I don't come back, you know I didn't survive!

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 09:23

Oh gosh, good luck!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/05/2018 10:18

I survived! Now someone feed me!

hammeringinmyhead · 10/05/2018 11:03

I'm on the Somerset/Wiltshire border!

Had my scan yesterday and I am 13+2. This looks like a boy going by nub theory right?!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/05/2018 11:38

How much are everyone's scan photos costing them? My hospital charge £10 each!

hammeringinmyhead · 10/05/2018 11:42

£15 for 4 at the RUH in Bath.

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 12:00

Think ours are £5 for one, then go up to £30 for 8. Something like that!

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 15:51

@hammering I've just read up on nun theory and I agree!

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 15:55

Hahaha nub theory. Bloody autocorrect.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/05/2018 16:14

Despite our delay (needed to replace a couple of floorboards after "the incident") decorating what will become the nursery has begun! I almost (it was in the trolley and everything!) went for apple green, but I wimped out Blush Carpet is bought, should all be done by Saturday!

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 16:23

Aww what colour did you go for?

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 16:50

Aw it is more pastelly isn't it. I love green. Most of our house is grey and neutral so I'm thinking grey for ours - we'll see what my husband says about it he hates grey and feels duped in to it!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/05/2018 18:18

I saw some lovely pale grey and yellow vinyl wall stickers for a baby/child's room on Not On The High Street the other day

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 18:49

I love yellow and grey! Very neutral too. Obvs don't know what we're having yet but I'm not in to all pink girly girly and not keen on baby blue either!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/05/2018 19:28

Are you going to find out?

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 19:39

Definitely! I am not a patient person. Are you finding out?

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/05/2018 19:44

No, we've decided not to. It's likely the only child I'll be allowed to carry so we won't get another chance for the surprise! We already have firmly decided names for both a boy and a girl so it's just a case of waiting!

I'm going to have a lot of scans though and I can interpret ultrasound well enough to tell the sex from about 16 weeks so there'll be a lot of looking away!

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 19:59

That makes sense. Oh I hope you can stop yourself from looking!!

HanahMarie · 11/05/2018 07:22

@Emma198
I like the idea of hypnobirthing - I mostly like the idea of being able to maintain some control and potentially (and I say potentially) avoid having to have too much in the way of drugs...my friend did it in bristol so now that we're sharing the news I can ask her 😊
