Hello

I've self referred on the NHS website and am awaiting my booking in appointment 🙂

And we have a wriggler! ☺️😝

Omg what an incredible experience - I was transfixed to that monitor! It's like a full on baby with arms and legs and a head and little tiny fingers!!! Literally feel on top of the world right now 😆

Ahhh wow! Congratulations @HanahMarie that's amazing ❤️

Emma198 · 08/05/2018 18:18

Aw how lovely ❤ congratulations.

You've left your full name on pic, not sure if you mind x

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/05/2018 18:35

@HanahMarie congratulations, I assume all is well?

Its amazing how human they look at 12 weeks, mine was little more than a blob at 8!

AaronPurrSir · 08/05/2018 18:51

Hannah that’s amazing! My scan is 2 weeks today, I can’t wait. It’s amazing how much they change, 6-8 week scans are little more than blobs with a heartbeat Grin yet at 12 weeks they look like a proper baby!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/05/2018 19:48

Is everyone still ridiculously tired? I volunteered to do a shift at my charity job tonight thinking I'd be able to as I'm off work all week and I'm sat in the office and I'm so tired that I just want to cry! It's going to be a long night!

kate288 · 08/05/2018 20:16

Hi, can I join please? 😊 I'm 29 and 11+6 with my first baby (1st pregnancy ended in an ectopic unfortunately). I think my due date is the 28th of Nov. Got my 12 week scan next Friday eeeek. This has been the slowest 12 weeks ever!

HanahMarie · 08/05/2018 22:16

Thank you for all you kind words ladies 😊 still can't believe that gorgeous thing is in me right now!!

Banana8080 · 09/05/2018 06:48

6 weeks 4 days today, had some light pink when I wiped yesterday, nothing has come over night and I'm preying it stays that way.

I hadn't realised how stressful this would be... it's exhausting Sad

Hope you're all doing great today xx

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/05/2018 08:10

Welcome aboard @kate288, congratulations Grin

@Banana8080 I think most of us have had similar. I certainly did at 6 weeks and all was fine when I had an early scan at 8 weeks. I'd suggest calling your local early pregnancy unit, they massively reassured me after the local GP practice nurse put the fear of God into me!

MouseLove · 09/05/2018 08:26

Awwww beautiful scan pic!!!! ❤️

I absolutely adore my scan pic from 8 weeks. Looks like a tiny little person!!! (See attached) I am just really hoping everything is ok in a few weeks when I'll have my 12 weeks scan. But last week was a real mental hurdle for me. This is the most pregnant I've ever been!! (Mmc at 10 weeks Feb 17) so I'm feeling nervous but excited at finally being able to potentially tell people nice news rather than sad. 🤞

I reallllly need maternity jeans but I won't buy any until after my scan. I'm a sucker for punishment. 🙈

@Banana at 6 weeks I had bright red bleeding but all was OK. I had the light pink at about 4 weeks but just assumed implantation so didn't worry. Bright red at 6 weeks though I went to my GP who referred me to early pregnancy for a scan x

Emma198 · 09/05/2018 08:37

@Mouse I am also refusing to buy anything maternity relates until after scan!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/05/2018 09:50

I can't wait to start buying stuff!

ellsharks · 09/05/2018 10:14

@MouseLove it's funny how everyone's scans looks different at weeks! Mine looks like yours but squashed 😂 reminds me of a Lego human!! 12 week one on Friday and the anxiety of it looking no different has kicked in 🤦🏻‍♀️

Isn't it!!! Like little gummie bears!! 😍

ellsharks · 09/05/2018 11:40

Gummie bears is exactly it! 😂

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/05/2018 16:55

Has anyone looked at/thought about antenatal classes yet?

EL332 · 09/05/2018 19:26

Hello and welcome to all the latest joiners... there are some lovely scan photos arriving! ❤️

It's so reassuring each time my symptoms change to come onto this post and see I'm not alone.

This week I've been ravenous and nauseous and then have a few bites of something and am stuffed! (I even left over half my pizza at pizza express Monday! - which isn't something I've ever done before!)

I'm exhausted and in bed asleep by 9 most nights at the moment...

I too am now just anxiously waiting for my 12 week scan which is next Friday (18th) and before that I have my first consultant appointment on Tuesday (15th) next week.

I've just started a new post in a new team and am feeling unsure about when to tell my new manager...

I have a meeting with her Friday and I sort of feel it might be a good time to tell her but am feeling anxious about her response!

Have people told Work yet?

What reactions have you had?

Any advice?

Xxxx

EL332 I'd be interested to hear what happens at your consultant appointment, mine is right after my 12 week scan.

I told work around 6 weeks. I told a few people I work closely with and swore them to secrecy. What I do is potentially risky in pregnancy so needed a few people to cover my back. I started being less secretive about it after an 8 week scan. Trouble is, as soon as anyone sees you wearing gloves to handle drugs, you're rumbled!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/05/2018 19:49

Oops, pressed send too soon.

Work were fine about it - I'm late 20s and recently married so it was kind of inevitable! There are 3 of us in a similar position and there's been lots of TTC and baby talk!

ND348 · 09/05/2018 20:16

Love seeing all scan pictures! Mine 12 week scan is in exactly 2 weeks, at a private one last weem you could just about see some tiny hands and feet but nothing like the 12 week ones, can't wait!
Think my nausea may be easing but still super tired and struggling to eat a full meal. I literally hit a brick wall, will fill up and fork and then decide absolutely no way can I put it in my mouth!
My DH was reading about pregnancy over the weekend when I was away and I've come back to a lecture on keeping my blood sugar up and eating greens! At least he cares 🤣

babywhen · 09/05/2018 20:36

Can I join? I'm 33 and pregnant with my first baby. We were referred to a fertility clinic but fell pregnant naturally after our first appointment.

I am so anxious and spend every few minutes worrying that there is no baby/something will go wrong/something already went wrong. I'm mostly worried because I haven't had any sickness at all. I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow - I am currently 8-9 weeks. I have never wished time away more 😬

Emma198 · 09/05/2018 20:54

@babywhen - Congratulations! You must be over the moon. The worry about there being no baby, something going wrong is very familiar to me!!

@Another - I've had a look. They don't do NCT in my area which I'm half glad about because I've heard that it's a bit biased and women mainly do it to make friends, but all the women here will be at other classes and making friends in other ways so that's good! I've heard it's so expensive too!

I was given a list of classes at my booking in appointment including aquanatal etc so I'll be looking to book those at some point!

@EL332 - I just asked to see my boss and just came out with it - I was being sick at work and she's like a hawk for noticing things so I thought I was best just to come clean. She's not what I'd call a 'Woman's woman', never wanted kids herself and struggles to empathise with anything children related so whilst she says all the right things according to HR, she's blank behind the eyes which makes me a little bit sad really, but as long as she plays by the book then I'm OK!

EL332 · 09/05/2018 20:57

@babywhen off course!

Congratulations ❤️ it's all so nerve wracking isn't it - I thought I'd be really laid back but I've been a bit of a nervous wreck for the last 10 weeks!

@ND348 it's sweet he's been reading up! It's so hard to try and stomach all the good things! I just want plain and salty things!

@AnotherOriginalUsername I'll come and let you know about the consultant appointment for sure 👍🏼 - I have worked for the company for a little while but then found out I was pregnant the day after I was offered the new position... I'm only a week in and so it's going to come as a bit of a shock to my manager but my job is a permanent position and I definitely intend to return after Maternity leave, I just don't know her well enough to know how she's going to respond ...
