@RachaelN90 I hit 11 weeks today and gained a muffin top, which isn't normal for me! My work colleague who knows said 'ooo don't you look like your gaining weight' but I've actually lost 8lb since being pregnant 😂

G00ders1 · 05/05/2018 09:30

@AnotherOriginalUsername that is a LOT of appointments! I’m the same as you, size 20, and have been worrying about the scans, so thank you for putting my mind at rest 😊
Are all the scans because of your weight or checks for other things? 😊 xx

AnotherOriginalUsername · 05/05/2018 13:04

I'm high risk because of my BMI (38 when weighed at midwife appointment). Had intended on losing weight prior to pregnancy but fell pregnant as soon as they said go (literally got the green light on 14th march, ovulated 16th and here I am!). I'd previously lost a huge amount (11st) but have put on about 5 again Confused so local obstetrician will look after me from that point of view...

Then I have a heart condition so will be being looked after by a cardiologist (about a million miles away. Or more like 75) and an obstetrician there (for reasons I've not yet discovered)

G00ders1 · 05/05/2018 15:06

@AnotherOriginalUsername I see! I think I’ll be very similar to you then xx

MouseLove · 05/05/2018 21:37

AaronPurrSir oh that's wonderful. I'll be 12+3 on the 22nd, counting down the days.

I really need maternity jeans too. Because I have thigh holes in all my jeans. 😂😂😂 I am very bloated too Which is completely normal in the first trimester.

Rachbones1992 at my private scan I had both an external and internal scan. Please don't worry if they do an internal. They will get amazing photos that way. Ours were SOOO much more detailed with the internal scan. X

I am considered low risk but due to previous loss and previous thyroid issue I am consultant lead at the moment. I am a size 18 but fit and healthy (weight train and cardio fitness for the last 2 yrs) My scan says it's with an obstetrician??? I really hope I'm released back into midwife care.

Morning ladies! I'm 10+2 today. Had my booking in last Tuesday and she said 12 week scan appointment will come through post so I'm waiting excitedly for that! What has everyone decided in terms of screening etc?

My sickness has eased last couple of days but I've had a really upset tummy yesterday afternoon and this morning. I've started taking the 5mg of folic acid, midwife got doctor to prescribe because my BMI was 31. Dr Google says folic acid can cause upset tummy so wondering if it's that. Boobs are still sore and I'm still constantly burping like I have been since about 4 weeks! Still shattered too. We're away for the weekend with my parents, sister brother in law and 2 year old niece and although she's literally the best thing ever she's completely exhausting and I'm sitting on sofa looking at her wondering what on earth I'm thinking having one of my own hahaha. Worst of it is, the one I'm pregnant with now will probably be her age when I want a second, I might have to rethink that plan!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 06/05/2018 09:16

@Emma198 we have opted for the screening etc.

I'm also on 5mg folic acid because of my BMI. Not had any problems but I take it with all my other medications with by breakfast. Have you been taking it with food?

9+1 based on my early scan. I too have indigestion (fortunately the heartburn has eased up), am slightly less exhausted than I have been so going to attempt to get back to cycling on Tuesday (I'm off work all week so can sleep if necessary!).

Still no nausea or anything (woohoo!) but having weird eating issues - starving in the morning, 2 breakfasts most days. Reasonable lunch then can barely eat in the evening.

Does anyone else's partner feel the need to keep reminding them that they're pregnant? I keep getting "you should/shouldn't do X/Y/Z, you're pregnant" oh, really? I hadn't realised! Hmm

G00ders1 · 06/05/2018 10:17

My DH keeps trying to make me eat more, even though the reason I’m not eating is because of the nausea. Bless him, he doesn’t know how to make me feel better, and struggles with knowing he can’t.

Feeling slightly less sick today though, so 🤞
Though I did feel terrible after having an ice cream yesterday 🤢

Also, sometimes I go a bit weird and light headed...possibly low blood pressure?

Emma198 · 06/05/2018 11:48

My husband keeps worrying about what I'm eating. He knows that I could happily eat a massive bowl of pasta but can't really gave much veg and balk at the thought of something like a chicken breast but despite this he keeps cooking chicken breast and veg for tea because it's healthier for me. I keep pointing out that I just push stuff like that around the plate and don't eat it so I'd rather actually eat a load of pasta than nothing!

I'm taking my folic acid in the evening so not long after my tea but not actually with food. Will try taking it actually with my tea. They didn't weigh me again at booking in because I'd already been weighed a few weeks before but I'd dread to know the difference in the meantime!

My husband and I are both off work all week. The original plan was to decorate the house through and when we booked this week off, the little bedroom was going to be the spare room - it's now going to be a nursery, obviously!

We aren't finding out the sex of our baby - but which colour do we go for?!

I was sold on the first one but now considering the second...

Emma198 · 07/05/2018 07:03

I love the duck egg!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 07/05/2018 08:16

Gonna have to get some tester pots I think!

Emma198 · 07/05/2018 08:23

We bought a new house in January and fully decorated and I'm absolutely devastated that I'll have to redecorate a spare room because I love them both so much! Lol.

ellsharks · 08/05/2018 10:26

Lovely Ladies on here - please help.

I am 11w3 today... Morning sickness/nausea all gone at 10 weeks. However, in replacement of that, I seem to not be able to eat.

I can get breakfast down me as I wake up hungry as normal but feel abnormally full after. By lunch I get about 3/4 mouthfuls in and I feel so full that it feels up to my throat and dinner is usually the same or worse.

As a result I am sooooooooooo tired and altho I don't feel hungry I know my body needs it.

Is anyone else having anything like this? It feels so weird and my mum/sisters/friends are all like wtf? They were all scoffing their faces at this point and I really wish I could.

My partner won't take me to Nandos Friday cos he knows I won't eat it haha... and I reeeeallllyyyyyyyy want it!

All joke aside... Anyone else?

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/05/2018 10:40

@ellsharks I'm pretty similar. Cooked breakfast this morning as both of us are off worl, managed half a sausage, 1 hash brown, a few baked beans and some mushrooms before pushing it across the table to my husband, which is unheard of for me, I usually have a plentiful appetite!

Grazing appears to be the way forward for me

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/05/2018 10:41

Pressed send too quickly!

I also seem to be doing better with more "liquidy" meals - cereal goes down ok and soup as well

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/05/2018 10:48

Another thought - I'm taking my morning medication with a glass of smoothie (not really feeling fruit right now!) and my evening medication with a glass of milk (woo, calcium)

ellsharks · 08/05/2018 10:48

@AnotherOriginalUsername yeah I've always been able to finish a meal, even if I was full! Now it's like if I put one extra mouthful in I'm battling to keep it all in! Such a nightmare. What id give to order a Texan BBQ pizza and devour it like the good old days 😂!

Yeah I'm going to try making some smoothies so I can get some goodness in me. Going to pop out and get one of those smoothie makers on my lunch. Hopefully they can keep me afloat.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/05/2018 11:00

I have a smoothie maker. I still buy them 🙈

GreenGooner · 08/05/2018 11:10

Hi all! Sorry to hear some aren't feeling too great.

Can I ask, have any of you told family/friends before the 12 week scan? I have a private scan booked for 11 weeks (Friday) and desperate to tell people. But then I wonder whether I should wait until I get the NHS 12 week test results?

And advice? X

GreenGooner · 08/05/2018 11:21

Also just to add I know it'll only be a matter of weeks difference but we have family visiting over the weekend so would like to tell them face to face 😬 but then I'm panicking incase there's any issues detected at the NHS scan x

Emma198 · 08/05/2018 11:37

@Green we told my parents straight away, his after a couple of weeks. Then my sister, the friend I had told I was trying and his best friend at 8 weeksish. His friend from work and hide girlfriend know too as I had a scare at 6 weeks and he was working with his mate and wanted to explain. Our logic in telling was if it's people you would want support from anyway if the worst happened then tell them. Also, with work for me it's been so obvious with my sickness it would have been ridiculous to lie so work know.

GreenGooner · 08/05/2018 11:45

Thanks @Emma198 work do know as I've been so poorly. Both of our families live in different cities, we've been hiding away but I'm bloody sick of it 😂 I think after the private scan on Friday, if all is well then we'll tell them. My main fear is the NT results but apparent if any issues are seen on the private scan then they have a duty to tell us. I'm just hoping it's not too early! X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/05/2018 13:00

The private sonographer will be fully qualified etc. so will be able to pick up on anything untoward. The one that did mine works at an NHS hospital the rest of the time.

We told my work (don't have any choice, it's in my contract to tell them as soon as I know due to health and safety) and his family after our private scan. Mike still don't know but don't live locally so easier to hide it.

ellsharks · 08/05/2018 13:18

@GreenGooner can I ask what you are worried about seeing on the NHS scan? Mines on Friday and I'm not worried about anything, but now thinking I should be?!
