@Aggiemacc congratulations! I’m so pleased your scan went well! Did you also have midwife appointment? I don’t think need t wee will sto for the next 6months 😆 . Hopefully tiredness will go.
My 12week scan and midwife appointment is tomorrow, so will see if my 4th Nov date stays. It’s ivf baby, so there shouldn’t be any surprised regarding the date....
I’m still battling my cold, and today my nose is running as well. I discovered that hot water, lemon, honey and clove drink works, and tastes surprisingly good.
I will have an early night, otherwise I’m so anxious about tomorrow that I would rather sleep and relax.

Banana8080 · 24/04/2018 19:26

Found out today I’m 4.5 weeks pregnant, due date 31st December. First pregnancy and it’s winderfully terrifying!!!

hammeringinmyhead · 24/04/2018 19:35

At my booking appt I did urine and blood tests, answered lots of questions, and got given my notes. They don't listen to the heartbeat at my birthing unit in case it's too early and we then panic until the 12wk scan. So I haven't seen anything or heard a heartbeat. Slightly disconcerting after 3 months.

Aggiemacc · 24/04/2018 19:46

@Fox23 I had midwife appointment at 10 weeks, and today had to see ob because of previous miscarriages. Been put on aspirin and got some antisickness-finally! Also got my blood results
I'm treated as medium risk due to my age and past. But every part of UK seems to have slightly different procedures

Poppylizzyrose · 24/04/2018 19:52

My mum being in the know (weirdly) told me to say id had bleeding, so I sort of conned my way into a 6 week scan. Heartbeat and all so my mind is at ease. My first midwife appointment Is this Thursdays. My biggest dread is blood tests, guess I better get used to them!

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 20:01

Really? I don't think I could lie about that, too scared of tempting fate. As it happens I did bleed so had scans at 6 and 7 weeks, all well. X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/04/2018 20:08

Well my appointments are stacking up.
Private scan on Sunday after the bleeding 2 weeks ago. Somewhere between terrified and excited about that one.
1st May is first midwife appointment and then I have an appointment on 1st June with a cardiologist (hopefully the one I've been seeing, I'm travelling 70 miles to the city she's based in) and an obstetrician, and what I believe may be my 12 week scan.

Still no real symptoms. If I hadn't had positive tests I'd just be waiting for a period thinking things weren't regular after coming off of contraception.

Just hoping all is ok on Sunday and that this pregnancy really is just a breeze!

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 20:12

I have my booking in on 1 May too @another Grin exciting. Good luck for Sunday let us know how it goes x

ND348 · 24/04/2018 20:20

Great news @Aggiemacc!

Booking appointment tomorrow, I will be exactly 8 weeks. Private scan booked for next Tuesday, originally had it booked for today but pushed it back a week after having a scan at the epu last week following my ectopic scare and wanted baby to have a chance to grow a bit more...

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/04/2018 20:21

Will do! The only thing that concerns me is the lack of.... anything! I'm tired, that's about it, but I'm always tired - I work 50 hours a week, volunteer at weekends, do at least an hour in the gym 3-5 times a week, but at the moment I'm struggling to get through a 12 hour day, so think I'm definitely excessively tired

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/04/2018 20:22

Oh I'm hungry too, but nothing new there. Tired and/or hungry are my permanent states of being

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 20:31

Haha. I can't separate myself from tiredness at the moment 😴😴😴

Poppylizzyrose · 24/04/2018 20:32

Emma I did feel weird about it : / but because the whole pregnancy was shock and unplanned I’ve sorted tempted unlucky fate all the way through. Loads of people know and you’re not meant to tell till 12 weeks too. The little bean is causing me every symptom there is, sickness and the lot which is meant to be very heathy sign. Plus he/she has a heart beat. I’m so glad I know, I’d be killing myself waiting. Don’t advise anyone else to tempt fate tho. I am high risk as I have inverted ovaries and Polycystic ovaries, so could be reason for scan too.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/04/2018 20:39

Telling people etc. doesn't make any difference. If something is going to happen, it's going to happen. I've had to tell some work colleagues as I'm now a walking risk assessment nightmare and there's some things that I absolutely cannot do. Fortunately my colleagues are capable of keeping quiet (we've not told family yet) and can cover my back at work where necessary

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 20:43

Knowing how terrifying it is to actually have a bleed, I guess I just wouldn't ever lie about it.

@Another I was being sick so much at work I told my colleagues because they had all either guessed or were talking about me! It's weird that they know before my close friends and relatives but I work 75 miles away from home so no crossover or worries of mutual friends and word getting out! X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/04/2018 20:46

I work in a town where everyone knows everyone and also since my hen weekend, some of my work colleagues are friends with close friends/family etc. so slightly worrying!

As soon as anyone puts gloves on at work to handle drugs, it's a dead giveaway so I'm doing plenty of delegating in the pharmacy at the moment!

hammeringinmyhead · 24/04/2018 20:49

I also didn't want to lie about a bleed. I thought even if I get scanned at 6 weeks I'd only then worry until 12 weeks anyway!

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 20:53

Aah I bet you can't wait to be able to tell everyone! X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/04/2018 20:54

I had a bleed, had to hold it together in the waiting room and cried my eyes out in the consult room. Didn't fit the criteria for a scan and couldn't lie about it. Still having to endure the wait until 8 weeks for a private scan and no guarantees that something won't go wrong between 8 and 12 assuming all is currently well. Fortunately for me, because I'm high risk, I'll be having growth scans every 4 weeks as my medication can cause uterine growth retardation

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 20:57

So sorry you didn't got criteria for a scan. I don't understand that ☹ so you're 8 weeks this week? I'm 9 on Friday x

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/04/2018 21:02

Yep 8 weeks tomorrow by my calculations but I think that'll be pushed back a day or 2 once scanned

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 21:04

They measured me as 6 weeks 6 days on the day I had myself as 7 weeks but midwife is still going with my original dates based on last period x

EL332 · 24/04/2018 22:07

I have my booking appointment tomorrow too 🙂

I'm so nervous about it...

I'm mostly worrying about my BMI and the additional risks... 😳

I'm really constipated the last couple of days so when I weighed myself I'm now even heavier! 😩

OP posts:
Emma198 · 24/04/2018 22:11

I got weighed at my first contact and I was all "I've been eating like a pig in the weeks since I got pregnant! Let me take off my boots!!" Haha. In reality I know I'm overweight but I know I won't be anywhere near the most overweight, she didn't seem concerned at all. Don't worry. X

Emma198 · 24/04/2018 22:12

Although there's an article on the BBC today that says to find your place on Britain's fat scale and I've decided I'd rather not 😂😂
