Oh no @Emma198 I don't think I want to know where I sit on that either!

I've lost weight since finding out! Not through trying, I literally hit my slimming world target the week I found out (I was thinking great, finally reached it never to been seen again lol!) .. even though I feel hungry pretty much all the time I'm really struggling to find things I want to eat. Last night's tea was cookies and ice cream, it was the only thing I could stomach!
Also worried midwife is going to think I'm a bit crazy, I have a page and a half of questions written down to ask her!

ND348 · 25/04/2018 07:27

Good luck at your appointment @EL332

AnotherOriginalUsername · 25/04/2018 07:50

ND348 sounds like a perfectly acceptable dinner to me! I'm eating a lot of cereal and yoghurt currently

I had my booking in this week and it was fine. My BMI was 28 which I am a bit about, but the midwife wasn’t concerned at all and said it was fine.

I have to go back in a few weeks to have the bloods taken that do the preliminary tests for downs, Edwards and another syndrome I can’t remember the name of…it’s not something I’d thought about yet but I am a bit worried.

FlowerPower25 · 25/04/2018 10:44

How are people managing with work? Have had a few days off this week as I've been constantly sick and exhausted! But very conscious this will probably go on for a few more weeks, so I can't just not go in!
Has anyone else taken time off? X

hammeringinmyhead · 25/04/2018 11:26

No, none. Except one day with a cold as I couldn't take flu tablets! I haven't had any actual sickness though and I sit at a desk.

Emma198 · 25/04/2018 11:32

My sickness and tiredness and stepped up a notch since late last week and I had Monday off, don't work Tuesday's and haven't managed to leave the house yet today so looks the same. How far along are you flower? I'm 8+5 apparently this is peak time x

FlowerPower25 · 25/04/2018 11:55

@Emma198 I'm 8 weeks today, so about the same as you. Glad to hear you say this is peak time, hopefully we will get a break from it soon! Hope you feel better later x

The only thing that helps is sleeping! I'm not as bad when I'm not working and I have a sleep in x

Fox23 · 25/04/2018 17:10

Afternoon! I had my 12 week Scan today, and I’m so happy that all is good. It’s IVF pregnancy so my edd didn’t change- it’s still 4th Nov. My little wasn’t very cooperative and I had to sneeze, cough and jump to get him moving so measurements can be taken. It was so strange to see him moving and shuffling! My DH was so excited that he was like a kid on sugar rush - so cute! My BMI was just over so I have been given another blood test to test sugar levels. I’m so so relieved now 😊

laurexa · 25/04/2018 17:34

Congrats everyone I don't know if I'm pregnant yet I've took a few tests all negative I feel pregnant but I've bled twice this month I'll keep you guys updated if you'd like tho

laurexa · 25/04/2018 17:36

@AppleCocoon

BFP= Big fat positive

BFN= Big fat negative

ellsharks · 25/04/2018 18:41

@Fox23 that's so funny, bless! I had a 9 week scan on Monday as I bled a bit after a thrush pessary and it's arms were flapping about was hilarious. Looked so strange.

Out of interest, how do you know it's s boy already? Xx

EL332 · 25/04/2018 19:01

Hello,

I had my booking appointment today, my BMI was higher than I had expected...

I haven't weighed myself whilst dressed and constipated ...

That meant I was exactly on the threshold for consultant led care ...

I have my first consultant appointment on 15/05 and it's given me a bit of a wake up to try and get more active and think a bit more about the nutrition in my meals...

The midwife was lovely and told me not to worry about it and said as it was borderline it was a preventative measure and it was highly likely I'd go on to have a healthy pregnancy without any complications...

I just feel guilty that I hadn't got my weight under control before falling pregnant Blush

Emma198 · 25/04/2018 19:12

@EL sounds like they're not worried. If you don't mind me asking, what's the threshold? How did you find the rest of the appointment?

EL332 · 25/04/2018 19:19

@Emma198 it was 35...

In my notes it has the different thresholds... (I'll try add a pic)

The rest of the appointment was fine, she took three vials of bloods for various things and I had to provide a urine sample which was tested for sugars and that was fine.

My husband and I both went and were asked questions about our own medical history and then family history was just as far back as our parents and siblings...

She said to start thinking about whether I want screening for downs etc and where I want to give birth...

@ellsharks two reasons I say “he” 1.- I just don’t like saying “it” and I say he simply because it sounds better. My DH also picked up me using “he”. 2- we asked today lady who was doing ultrasound and midwife who saw ictured of their opinion- and both said - definitely looks like boy. Although no “bits” can be seen, they said something about the way spine curves or something. However I would love girl so it’s not wishful thinking. My DH would love boy, so he is so pleased today! 😂

Emma198 · 25/04/2018 19:24

Oh right - I calculated mine before. 32! The rate I'm eating at I don't know what I'll be by Tuesday at my booking in though! Haha! When I had my first contact appointment, she asked me to think about decisions re the screening and let her know at booking in. She weighed me then too and talked briefly about where I want to give birth. I desperately want me 12 week scan now 😭😭

Emma198 · 25/04/2018 19:25

Thanks! So I'll need an additional glucose test then, I've heard they're rank!

ellsharks · 25/04/2018 19:26

@Fox23 ahh okay yeah I keep saying 'it' and it feels rude lol! I wasn't sure whether IVF meant you find out earlier 🙈! Yeah I've seen things on here about the spine and a 'nub' (whatever it is)! Oooo I'm gonna inspect mine haha x

EL332 · 25/04/2018 19:26

@Emma198 when I self referred mine was 33 and then with clothes and struggling with constipation it made mine 35 Blush

I'm pleased I'll be kept a close eye on though!

OP posts:
Emma198 · 25/04/2018 19:29

I haven't weighed myself - going off what midwife weighed me at a couple of weeks ago so was wearing jeans and a jumper. Might go back in jogging pants and a vest top 😂 yeah I can't see anything bad about extra care surely it's always better to have an extra close eye x
