I've had to come clean at work. My manager's response? "Well done" Hmm

Emma198 · 18/04/2018 22:00

My manager is a woman. She doesn't have kids and never wanted them and seeing her trying to have empathy is quite nice really as you can see it doesn't come naturally.

ReiofHope · 18/04/2018 23:33

Anyone else been hit with craving some yet?
I want milk.
We have no milk
We have no cash in the house.
My bank card is not in the house (left it at family members house)
OH is asleep so can't use his card.
I might actually cry.
I would walk to Tesco if I could find £1
Confused this isn't how I usually am

ND348 · 19/04/2018 06:19

I told my manager yesterday too. She is a friend So I think it was easier. Wanted to explain not being in on Tuesdaywith my little scare and why I might be acting a bit weird! She was great, really excited for me and without prompting said she would keep it to herself, suggested what I could say to the rest of the team and started hatching a plan to keep it secret on a hen do we're on in a few weeks!

First person I've told apart from doctors so felt strange but was really good to talk about it at last! Can't wait to tell parents when they visit next week...

ellsharks · 19/04/2018 07:49

Just hoping someone's feeling this... woke up a few times last night when I rolled on my boobs. This morning They feel like they're about to explode and are hurting constantly!! 😩 I fly today, I don't want them to explode!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/04/2018 08:04

I had that the night before last

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/04/2018 08:04

(pretty sure you won't explode though!)

AppleCocoon · 19/04/2018 08:14

@Ellsharks

I had that until yesterday. Not fun. Also, I really need new (bigger) bras but feel it is too early to buy them in case I jinx it. Crazy, right?

Welshchloe · 19/04/2018 08:36

hi im 33, i am 9 weeks gone with my first his third due on the 16 November (according to the app and the nhs due date calculator) starting the show and wound up because my shorts are not fitting me

AaronPurrSir · 19/04/2018 08:40

I’ve started wearing bralets, got some in primark. They are kind of like swimsuit material but more supportive, no underwire, and so comfy! They stretch too so you don’t need to worry about constantly buying bigger ones. I think I’ll stay in these til I need maternity bras.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/04/2018 08:47

Welcome and congratulations @Welshchloe :)

@AaronPurrSir what size are these? I can't imagine being able to get away with such a creation!

AaronPurrSir · 19/04/2018 09:11

@anotheroriginalusername they’re just sized as S, M and L. I wasn’t sure it would be supportive enough but I love it! I don’t want to go back to underwire now!

Heathre23 · 20/04/2018 07:36

Got my letter with my first appointment through a couple of days ago, it is on Sunday 12th May so my fiancée can come too. We’re hoping we can get a scan before the end of May as we are off to a music festival and I will have to explain my not drinking and we will (by my calculations) be 12 weeks by then, so fingers crossed. I hope those of you who have had scares and worries are doing okay now. I have escaped morning sickness....so far, occasional mild nausea, constant need to wee and now painful breasts (wake me up when I roll over too and cannot get into my normal comfy sleep position) is what I have had so far. Still cannot believe we are pregnant. I do not think it will sink in until we have that 12 week scan in our hands.

FlowerPower25 · 21/04/2018 08:48

Advice please! I know some of you ladies have already had this...

had some bleeding a few hours ago when I went to the toilet - nothing since. Is it too early to go to a walk-in centre? Were you told to wait for a few days and see what happened? TIA x

Aridia · 21/04/2018 09:37

Hi @FlowerPower25. At my booking in appointment, at which I was only 6+4, my midwife told me that any bleeding at all and I should go to my gp, walk in clinic, or a&e. Just to be on the safe side. I really hope you're okay. She also told me it's very, very common, and 9 times out of 10, nothing to worry about, but worth getting checked.
Good luck!

ReiofHope · 21/04/2018 09:39

FlowerPower25
I went straight to A&E, they did blood tests and a urine test and referred me for a scan. I had to wait 9 days for my scan so I wouldn't wait if I were you.
During those 9 days I did a few more home tests to keep my mind a little more settled.

FlowerPower25 · 21/04/2018 09:53

Thanks @ReiofHope @Aridia , I'll go down to A&E today. Have read it's fairly normal, but keeping everything crossed all the same.... x

Emma198 · 21/04/2018 11:54

@flowerpower25 mine was a weekday, but went to my GP then he referred to EPAU and I had a scan, rang doctors at 8 and had a scan before 12. I was 6 weeks. X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 21/04/2018 14:32

@FlowerPower25 I was told by my EPU that a small amount of pink/red blood on the tissue when you wipe is normal and to contact them or my GP if I had any bleeding that resembled a period, or pain

AnotherOriginalUsername · 21/04/2018 20:29

How's everyone feeling currently?

I'm still largely symptomless besides heartburn and feeling like I have an upset stomach but I don't - I'm assuming that's the progesterone slowing everything down!

EL332 · 21/04/2018 21:19

Hi @AnotherOriginalUsername I haven't had any new symptoms really... I just continue to be exhausted and nauseous with sore boobs...

I was sick for a week when I was very congested and had a head cold too but since then I've just been nauseous ...

I've eaten lots of ginger and now I can't stand it anymore!

How are you? ❤️

All good here. I actually woke up feeling refreshed this morning. It lasted all of about 2 hours until I was ready to fall asleep at my desk! I've been very crampy abdominally the last few days, but have found getting up and doing something (usually a dog walk) eases things off again

Poppylizzyrose · 21/04/2018 22:13

Hey, I’m 6/7 weeks so I’m due early December. : ) unplanned but wanted pregnancy. I was posting as user127573 (those numbers aren’t correct lol) but I’ve changed name to few I’m thinking off.

Poppylizzyrose · 21/04/2018 22:17

Oh as for symptoms! As most people have said there’s. I’m sick every morning usually few times then most nights. Evenings are the worst because whatever I’ve had for dinner comes back. I’m just enjoying lunch now, only meal I get to keep! Very tired all the time, this is latest I’ve stayed up in ages, I can sleep at half 8! The sickness is so bad, only thing I keep telling myself is it’s a good sign. Sad x

Fox23 · 21/04/2018 22:34

Evening girls,
Until now I was on another thread... for IVF pregnancies.
So, I’m 37, and been married for 15 years. Last year I fell pregnant but it ended up being ectopic. This time I had successful ivf and tomorrow I will be 12weeks exactly with my first. I’ve had 2 scans already due to my age/ ivf/ previous ectopic and all has been ok, but my big 12 week scan will be on Wednesday. Current due date is 4th November. I know it’s bit earlier than most of you, but I hope you don’t mind if I join in.
Regarding symptoms- I was lucky not to have nausea. But I’m so tired, that I fall asleep at 7-8. My boobs are very tender, and growing day by day.
My DH family know about my pregnancy, and my assistant at work. But I only just told my boss. I work in industry where there are no women at all, so it was tricky to tell about my pregnancy, as there are no understanding ears. My boss seemed ok. My family will find out in two weeks.
Hope you all are having lovely weekend
