Keeping things crossed for you @another and @blondcat, take care x

AnotherOriginalUsername · 13/04/2018 08:42

Thanks everyone. Things have calmed down yesterday evening and overnight, so fingers are tentatively crossed for the time being.

Hi, can I join, Im 40, have a 7 year old and just got a BFP after about 6 months of trying.

Emma198 · 13/04/2018 11:51

morning guys. @another just wanted to let you know, after bleeding at six weeks I've had a scan today at 7 weeks and saw a little heart beating away. Got everything crossed for you xx

Rachie1986 · 13/04/2018 12:14

Fab news Emma!

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

Booked an early scan for 8w. Worried it will have to be internal though :-S. Just want to rule out the twins option and feeling so grim wanted something to look forward too.

GreenGooner · 13/04/2018 12:25

I've booked an early scan for tomorrow. I'll only be 7+1 so I'm hoping they can see something 😬

Scout1774 · 13/04/2018 12:53

Hi I would like to join this thread - I'm 35 and had a 7 week scan yesterday, all well so far fingers crossed. This is my first pregnancy. Good luck to everyone xx

ellsharks · 13/04/2018 15:13

Can anyone explain what the internal scan is? My scans on Sunday and I am concerned that its going to be a bit weird for my OH lol

AnotherOriginalUsername · 13/04/2018 17:01

ellsharks it's transvaginal rather than transabdominal. In other words they shove the Doppler up your hoohah instead

Rachie1986 · 13/04/2018 17:10

Those who've had early scans, how many weeks were you and were they internal scans or not?

Paeon · 13/04/2018 17:24

Hi All - I'm just over 5 weeks - due date mid- December. I had MC in early Feb (at 6 weeks) so a bit of shock to get pg again so soon, both 1st TTC - I'm almost 40 Shock . I'm just waiting to see how this goes, maybe private early scan if things go well the next few weeks...

Emma198 · 13/04/2018 20:06

7 weeks today and mine was abdominal xx

GreenGooner · 13/04/2018 20:08

I'm worried that they won't be able to give me an abdominal scan at this stage because of my big belly Blush

Emma198 · 13/04/2018 20:10

How big are you? I've got a fair belly on me. Size 14 on the bottom. X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 13/04/2018 20:30

GreenGooner it'll be more your pelvic area than your abdomen, just above your mons pubis I'd imagine

Emma198 · 13/04/2018 20:36

Plus when you lie down it all spreads out to the side 😂 it is quite low down in line with your hip bone x

GreenGooner · 13/04/2018 20:40

I'm a 16 top and 14 bottoms. I've got quite an overhang though from years of yo-yo dieting 😳 will see what they say and 'prepare' for an internal just incase!

GreenGooner · 13/04/2018 20:42

Thanks though, mine spreads too so hopefully will spread enough 😂

Emma198 · 13/04/2018 20:49

😂 good luck for tomorrow xx

welshintirol · 13/04/2018 21:39

Don't worry about the internal at all. I had one yesterday. It's absolutely fine and not as unpleasant as you'd imagine. The wand is narrow. You'll barely notice because you'll be looking at the screen.

Good luck!!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 13/04/2018 21:54

Argh! Husband is moaning about the price of a private scan, says I can either have a scan or new carpet. And there was me thinking he understood...!

Emma198 · 13/04/2018 22:00

The price of those two aren't comparable?! I only had spotting and had two scans at my EPAU since, I'm really sorry you weren't offered too. Also very sorry your husband doesn't understand! I went to work after ours this morning and instead of celebrating with me tonight about the good news mine went to the pub with his friend. I'm so pissed off at him. X

AnotherOriginalUsername · 13/04/2018 22:09

I just can't go to my midwife appointment not knowing. I've also had other appointments through, appointments that are scarce and incredibly specialist and could be used by someone else if necessary which would be before the 12 week scan.
