Morning, I've booked a private scan for when I will be 8 weeks so 19th April. Still not heard from midwife about booking appointment so waiting to hear about that.

We are telling my parent today as I can't keep anything a secret from them and I'm 6+3.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/04/2018 10:44

Everything firmly crossed for those going through a worrying time at the moment Flowers

Windy1234 · 08/04/2018 10:55

Morning ladies hope you are all well. Has anyone else suffered with lower back pain? Approx 6-7 weeks here

FlowerPower25 · 08/04/2018 11:31

Anyone else not really got any symptoms yet? Apart from the obvious (no period and BFP) I'm just tired! No spotting or any concerning symptoms, just nothing at all. Anyone else in the same boat? Am 5+5.

Seconding that, @AnotherOriginalUsername , hope everyone with worries is reassured and ok xx

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/04/2018 11:51

FlowerPower25 I'm 5+4 and still nothing much. I'm sure that by this time next week or so we'll be wishing that was still the case!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/04/2018 11:51

That being said, my husband is out, the dog has been walked, I could easily go for a nap right now....!!

FlowerPower25 · 08/04/2018 12:05

@AnotherOriginalUsername glad it's not just me! I'm sure you're right, things will kick in soon. Definitely have that nap now though, I'm sure we should stock up on sleep while we can!

EL332 · 08/04/2018 17:33

Hello everyone!

How has your weekend been?

I've been wrapped up feeling sorry for myself with a head cold and seemed to have missed loads of posts!

Welcome to all the recent posters and huge congratulations 🤰❤️

I hope those who have had spotting/scares have managed to have a restful and calm weekend without too much stress ❤️❤️❤️

Hope you feel better soon!

I'm still shocked at my lack of symptoms considering I'm 7 + 3. No sickness or major food aversions, just tired and sore-ish boobs. Oh and the god awful bloating!

I'm so on edge waiting for the HG to kick in but with both previous pregnancies it hit ne at 4 weeks so I'm really starting to believe that I've managed to escape it this time Halo

EL332 · 08/04/2018 18:06

@snowbake oooh that must be such a relief, even if it hits now you've managed a few more weeks sickness free!

I wonder if it's to do with the sex of the baby?

I hope you continue to stay sickness free!

I've been sick a fair bit over the last few days but am unsure whether my congestion is forcing what's usually nausea into sickness 🤢🤢🤢

@el332 I have a head cold too feeling sorry for myself all weekend. Been sleeping a lot to try and feel better as been knackered. Hope you feel better soon.

Chattein · 08/04/2018 19:12

Hi everyone!

8th December due date.

Got a pregnant result on clear blue digital yesterday. Still very weary as I suffered an eptopic pregnancy last month and have conceived very quickly!

Hope it's a sticky bean 😩

Rachie1986 · 08/04/2018 19:15

Hi windy, some lower back pain here.

Also been feeling sick on and off, have to eat every couple of hours to keep it at bay.

Sure I didn't feel this sick this early (not yet 6 weeks!) with my first.. people keep mentioning twins to me!

Rachie1986 · 08/04/2018 19:37

Q for everyone. Anyone know when we get free prescriptions and dental care etc? NHS website just says when your doctor/midwife signs a form for you, but no indication of how far along that would be!

EL332 · 08/04/2018 19:39

@Blondcat I hope you feel better soon! I've decided to give myself the day off tomorrow - I haven't had a sick day in so long and I just need to look after myself at the moment!

Welcome @Chattein - so pleased you've managed to fall again quickly and sorry for your loss! Fingers crossed for a sticky one this time 🤞🏼

@Rachie1986 I've only started being sick in the last couple of days but think that's down to feeling poorly as well as prior to that had just been nauseous...

I was looking into the exemption certificate too and couldn't find a date...

Has anyone had their booking appointment and been given one?

AaronPurrSir · 08/04/2018 19:49

I have a dental appointment a week after my booking in with midwife, so I really hope I get my exemption form then!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/04/2018 20:08

Feeling very nauseous this evening! (Although that could be to do with the entire packet of chocolate hobnobs I just ate 🤢)

EJWx · 08/04/2018 20:46

@AnotherOriginalUsername
Would you mind me asking where you work?
I work in a busy ED department, minimal people know as only 6+5, no one has mentioned anything about anaesthetic gases and other pregnant people I know have previously worked in resus xx

ND348 · 08/04/2018 20:46

@Rachie1986 I was intrigued by your exemption certificate question, didn't find an answer to when you get it but the below link suggests you can claim back for prescriptions and dental you have before the certificate arrives
www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/free-prescriptions-and-nhs-dental-care-in-pregnancy

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/04/2018 21:07

@EJWx I work in a veterinary hospital so slightly different - cats and dogs use an ET tube but small animaals are gassed down either via a mask or a gas box (that then needs to be opened to retrieve the animal out of it whilst letting gas go everywhere!)

AppleCocoon · 08/04/2018 21:13

Today is 7 weeks for me.

The last ten days have been ..... eventful. It involved a couple of very long flights for an overseas project and a great deal of stress.

I had a miniscule amount of brown spotting in week 5, followed by a large clot in week 6. A nurse friend took me straight to the hospital and I have been told it was a threatened miscarriage which means a 50/50 chance of making it to 12 weeks.

The good news is that I had a scan at the same time and while it was too early to detect a heartbeat, the yolk sac was in the right place and right size. Follow up HCG tests showed that the levels are still rising (but not doubling) which means the baby is still growing so, again, that is positive.

I have an appointment with my GP today (my second appointment with her) and a 7 week scan on Friday. I have been seriously impressed with the level of care here (not in the UK/NHS) but am slightly fearful of the final bill!

It is very reassuring reading everyone’s stories so I am going to br checking in more often now that my stressful project has finished.

Symptom wise, I really wish I had morning sickness because then I could use that as another piece of evidence for the baby developing well. As it is, no vomiting (yet) but Increasing amounts of quesiness from week 4 onwards. I’m bloated and burping and getting spots again. Occasional stomach cramps/stretches (can’t quite describe it) but not a much as week 4 and 5. My digestion has definitely slowed down but I still had to get up three times last night to go to the loo.

Rachie1986 · 08/04/2018 21:30

Sorry to hear it's been a tough couple of weeks apple. Hope things settle down.

Sorry to those of you having spotting, bleeding etc. Crossing everything that things go well for everyone x

AppleCocoon · 08/04/2018 21:40

Thanks, Rachie. The project is pretty much finished and I am back at home. I’ll have lots of opportunity to take things easy now so hopefully it will all settle down.

EL332 · 08/04/2018 21:49

@AppleCocoon sounds like there were lots of positive signs 👍🏼 I hope you enjoy some rest and can catch up on some you time ❤️
