Hi everyone, it's happening! My waters started slightly leaking drop by drop yesterday evening. I presumed it was just a discharge as it had similar consistency and looked yellowish. Today morning I had more of it coming out so I went to hospital. They checked me out and a swab test came back positive for waters. I had a feeling it was my waters going but it didn't match the description of what others say online or how other websites describe it. It supposed to be colourless and you would definitely know if it is your waters as it does not stop leaking. Well, with me everything looks different. Anyway, I'll have to go back to hospital tonight and get induced. I'm excited and at the same time nervous. Hopefully, by tomorrow I'll be holding my baby!Smile

ToriRay · 07/04/2018 17:16

@Yustynne woohoo! Good luck! How exciting! X

julia02 · 07/04/2018 17:21

Hi everyone! I need your help. Last night I got some itching, espacially on my face. I thought it's normal. Today I'm 37+5. I contacted maternity unit and they told me to go to hospital and have blood test. I did it. Dr told that result will came back on Monday. But, now I'm worried, because itching is still present. 😡😡

Bez9087 · 07/04/2018 17:46

Good luck @yusty hope bubs doesn’t keep you waiting too long.
@julia did they not fast track the results? It’s odd they are making you wait.

MadRainbow · 07/04/2018 17:53

Hi everyone, nice to see more babies arriving safely. I would reply more personally but finding time to do anything has been difficult.

Quick update on our little girl: she has been stable for nearly 72 hrs now so we can move onto the next stage of treatment. If anything is going to show up it should do so tonight. She has an MRI booked for Tuesday afternoon and if all goes well we could be home before next weekend. We still don't really know what happened in the first place but if nothing shows up I think it could be a case of never knowing exactly what it was.

Keeping everything crossed

Bez9087 · 07/04/2018 18:31

Keeping everything crossed for you @madrainbow 🤞🏻🤞🏻So glad she’s been okay so far. Keep thinking positive. I can’t imagine what your going through. Hopefully you will all be home soon.

strawberrysparkle · 07/04/2018 19:07

@MadRainbow fingers crossed for you!

emvy · 07/04/2018 19:56

Yustynne, good luck!! How very exciting!! Can’t wait for an update! You’ve actually got me concerned though because for the past week or so my cervical mucus changed from thick to watery (sorry if tmi 😬), and although online seems to say it thickens, I just accepted that for me, it’d done the opposite. It’s never loads though.. I’m sure it’s not waters. You said you kind of knew, and I’m not getting that feeling so I’m sure it’s fine, right?!

julia, I’m assuming that they’re not too concerned about the itching otherwise they’d have pushed results sooner. I’ve also started getting quite itchy generally recently but not the face. Again, I just assumed it was all part of the very end of pregnancy! If you’re still really uncomfortable though i’d get back in touch.

MadRainbow, great news on your little one. Really hoping the MRI is clear and you’re home soon. Keeping everything crossed for you here too x

AnnaMadden · 07/04/2018 22:36

@yustynne good luck...hope you are having your newborn snuggles soon!

@MadRainbow that's great news...sending you all the best and hope you all get to go home soon x

julia02 · 07/04/2018 22:40

I went again at hospital and luckily I got the result. Everything looks fine, but I'm still itching ......

HarryHarry · 07/04/2018 22:49

Yustynne So exciting, good luck!

emvy Mine has become watery too. I nearly always feel like I have a wet/damp patch. I don't think it is my waters but then again what do I know!

julia02 I've got itching too but it's between my toes so I think it might be athlete's foot from my feet swelling and making my shoes too small.

MadRainbow Hope you have your little one home soon.

Strongarms27 · 08/04/2018 23:09

MadRainbow I hope everything stays stable for you. I too am without my baby (Lyra) who arrived on 4th April as scheduled, but was admitted to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at the hospital as she sustained a broken leg. We think it was due to delivery although the doctors and midwives have never seen it before.
The good news is that she is physically well otherwise, but I was discharged yesterday so it is very hard to be apart from her. We don't know when she will be able to come home, but hopefully it won't be too long.

Strongarms27 · 08/04/2018 23:10

Also MadRainbow, how is your expressing going?

AnnaMadden · 09/04/2018 00:18

@strongarms sorry to hear you are apart from your little one, that must be so hard for you! I really hope she gets the all clear soon and you get to bring her home ...She's a beauty!

MadRainbow · 09/04/2018 03:45

@Strongarms congratulations on your little girl she is so beautiful but I'm sorry to hear you've had to part from her, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Hopefully since it's a broken leg she'll be able to come home soon and it's not been caused by any underlying issue.

Expressing has been pretty much impossible despite constant trying until tonight when I finally expressed 2 full feeds for Sirenne. Since your princess was born on the same day I assume your milk should be coming through and making it easier for you (if you have struggled) I hope so anyway.

Finally got to have a cuddle today! Most of her lines are all gone and the trace sensors are being taken off this morning so Daddy will get to have a snuggle this afternoon. Things are definitely looking up for us :)

Bez9087 · 09/04/2018 04:28

@strongarms congratulations she is beautiful. Fingers crossed your all together again quickly and she gets the all clear.

@madrainbow that’s amazing well done you. I’m so glad you got a cuddle she sounds like she’s doing amazing. Hope daddy enjoys his cuddles later too.

Hope the rest of the ladies are doing well?

amysaurus87 · 09/04/2018 08:00

@strongarms congratulations, she's beautiful! Fingers crossed that she can come home soon!

@madrainbow glad to hear your little one is getting better! Will be lovely when daddy can have snuggles too!

I'm 39+1 today and baby is showing now signs of arriving anytime soon, SIL felt for babys position yesterday and estimated that I'm 4/5 engaged (She's a midwife which is why I asked her as I haven't seen my midwife since the end of March!)...apparently baby is half in and half out of my pelvis, which is probably due to all the fluid around baby! I've got my midwife appointment tomorrow so will get her to check as well to see if the walking and floor cleaning I plan to do today helps wiggle baby down a bit!

I've loved being pregnant but am now getting to the point where I just want my little one here!

Rae2017 · 09/04/2018 08:01

@strongarms she is gorgeous, you must be so proud. So sorry to hear it's been a bumpy start but hopefully she'll be with you soon!

I've got 2 more days until I meet my little one! Was up at the ward on fri being monitored for reduced movements but everything was fine. Was scanned again and he's still breech so it's all go ahead for Wed. Have had a lazy weekend as think the foreseeable are going to be really busy.

Strongarms27 · 09/04/2018 08:21

Thanks everyone. I think she's pretty gorgeous too!

MadRainbow, I got to have cuddles and kisses for the first time yesterday as well. It was so wonderful. I didn't want to go home! That's great news that your little one is doing well. I found hand expressing really difficult but once I got my hands on an electric pump, I've found it getting easier every time. We need to work on a position to allow bf but I think we will be able to as I'm healing quite well.

Good luck Rae2017. I would recommend arnica as I really think it's helping. The whole experience was very weird but very amazing. Seeing her over the curtain felt a bit like 'Lion King'! Skin to skin was just the most wonderful time. My DP took loads of pics in theatre which we will treasure forever.

amysaurus87 I loved being pregnant too. I thought I'd really miss my bump but it turns out a baby is way better!! Smile

Fieau · 09/04/2018 08:37

@strongarms she's beautiful, hopefully you'll get to take her home soon.

Had to go to the maternity unit last night for some pain killers as my back pain was so bad. They worked though as had the best nights sleep in ages! Now need a day of relaxation as have a big event tomorrow I don't want to miss.

emvy · 09/04/2018 08:56

Congratulations, strongarms, what a beautiful little one. It must be so difficult being away from her. I hope you’re able to bring her home soon.

MadRainbow, glad expressing is picking up a little and you’ve been able to have a cuddle - wonderful!

So I think things are finally moving forward here but I guess I could still be in for the long waiting game. Contractions began about 8 last night at 10 minutes apart. I managed to get a couple of hours sleep but they’ve now slowed to about every half an hour which is very annoying. I’m planning on doing lots of active things today to get things back on track. So ready to meet little one now! Come on baby!

Bez9087 · 09/04/2018 09:10

@emvy my dd my first started like that and I ended up going in to be checked as felt like was constant stopping and starting and I was 6cm dilated. After being there an hour all contractions had stopped. Just keep an eye on them they don’t always follow “textbook rules” eeek exciting.
@rae good luck for Wednesday. I was so nervous leading up to my section but then after I don’t know why it was so laid back and relaxed which helped. One tip if you feel anything like sickness etc make sure you tell aneasthetist as they can give you something really quick to stop it. I regret waiting to ask wasn’t until I felt it coming up I was like I’m gonna be sick but the minute they gave me the medicine through my cannular it was like instant relief.

AnnaMadden · 09/04/2018 09:13

@emvy how exciting...now get moving! Lol.

Glad all the babies are getting stronger every day and will hopefully be home soon.

We're registering Áine's birth this afternoon so she'll officially be a person lol. Have a good week everyone x

HarryHarry · 09/04/2018 12:05

Congratulations Strongarms27 - she's beautiful. You and MadRainbow have both chosen lovely names for your girls. I hope you get to bring them home soon.

emvy I'm jealous! My due date is today but nothing is happening so far!

emvy · 09/04/2018 13:13

No need to be jealous, Harry, things have really really quietened down despite my best efforts. Contractions are barely happening now and barely noticeable 🙄. Last night I was really certain i’d be giving birth today as they were so regular and painful but it looks like baby has other ideas!

Bez, I’ll bear that in mind if this lasts a few days. I’m seeing the midwife Thursday so I guess if things haven’t properly kicked off by then I’ll see if she can shed any light on things. I guess it’s just one of those things with first pregnancies where the latent phase takes actually forever 😅😩

Anna, enjoy registering, how exciting!

Rae - best of luck for Wednesday! Not long to go!
