@emvy I bet it won’t be long. Mine was on and off but more painful by the Wednesday went to midwife Thursday fed up. She booked me for a sweep for my due date the following Monday. I went home, cried to dh he took me out for tea had a medium rare steak and runny egg (wasn’t allowed it back then) and then went bowling. came home and then the following day on the Friday we had her. Fingers crossed it’s like this for you.

Teeeee · 09/04/2018 15:16

Congratulations to mums with new babies!!! Cant wait to meet little one!! @Bez9087 thats so interesting about bowling! I've heard bowling as an effective labour starter a few times now!! Must bowl next week

Smile
Loosemoose28 · 09/04/2018 15:16

@Emvy we are doing the same thing it sounds. Just so frustrating as leaves me feeling tired and sicky. I have to keep telling myself this is normal for 1st baby. And although we feel like we keep hitting dead ends it is getting our cervix softer and more
ready. I sent my OH to work warning him to keep his phone on him incase he needed to come home- and now just horrid back ache.
Going out with the dogs for a walk/ waddle in the rain.

Bez9087 · 09/04/2018 16:32

@teeee I had been so strict through her pregnancy and I was so fed up that day I had had enough. So ordered the largest medium rare steak ate the runny eggs (loved every mouthful of the yolk 😂) and then went bowling. Didn’t even use the ramp was just launching them down. Something worked haha. She came at 39+4 and was my first. Keeping everything crossed for you all to be meeting your babies soon.

emvy · 09/04/2018 17:51

It’s so frustrating isn’t it Loosemoose. I’ve said the same to my OH about tomorrow. My mum is going to come up and spend the day with me as he’s working 35 minutes away.

I’m back up to about 10 minute painful contractions but they’re not bang on 10 minutes apart, lasting exactly the same length and of completely equal (or increasing) intensity, which is what we were made to think they should be at our antenatal appointments! Bez, you suggested this wasn’t the case with you though? I downloaded an app and it told me off because my contractions weren’t well timed enough 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Bez, I don’t blame you for doing those things! I’ve been very tempted by soft cheese on menus as of late. If baby isn’t here tomorrow, I’ll drag mum out for lunch and order a baked Camembert or something!

Kirta · 09/04/2018 17:55

I'm due tomorrow! I'm considering having a little bounce on my daughters trampoline! Grin
So uncomfortable at the moment. Feeling massively heavy. I keep having massive hot flushes though - please someone tell me that's a sign of impending labour?! Smile

Strongarms27 · 09/04/2018 18:06

All these stories of impending labour are so exciting! Good luck to everyone waiting.

We had great news today: Lyra was moved from HDU to the nursery, which is still in intensive care, but is the lightest level of care. She is being weaned off the morphine and had two sets of care without it today with DP and me, which went really well! If all goes to plan, we will be staying overnight in parents' accommodation on the ward with her on the room, and then go home on Wednesday! SmileGrin

How lovely to be registering Anna Flowers

AnnaMadden · 09/04/2018 18:22

Thanks everyone...this little beauty is officially registered!

Glad to hear all the babies are doing well and I hope those still waiting aren't waiting for much longer!

Bez9087 · 09/04/2018 18:33

@emvy mine was all over the place sometimes 10 minutes sometimes 6 sometimes 20. I went in and demanded to be checked and they said I was too happy to be in labour but then found I was 6cm. You will just know. There was a part of me that was adament I was in it and I was.
@strongarms that’s brilliant news. Fingers crossed your all home Wednesday together.
@anna aww happy registration day. We registered the girls last Wednesday but did a huge baby brain and got there and he told me it was the week after so technically this Wednesday 😳 luckily he still did it for us so both ours have been registered. I sent off the updated child benefit form too and forgot to put dh national insurance number on 🤦🏻‍♀️ But we had it already for our other two so I’m hoping they have it on their system.
Got midwife coming tomorrow to hopefully discharge us and weigh the girls. Imogen’s cord finally fell off today at day 17!! Couldn’t believe how long it took. Girls are doing really well waking us after about 3 hours now for feeds. Isobelle is still looking slightly jaundice but not half as bad as she was. Imogen is really pale in comparison. Can’t wait to hear of all your little ones arrivals.

AnnaMadden Happy registration day! She's so cute!

You too for last Wednesday Bez9087. The twins look so alike, they're adorable, especially in their little matching outfits!

sirlee66 · 09/04/2018 19:02

I'm due next week! No signs yet but absolutely loved and have cooed over all your beautiful babies!!!

This reminds me of being back at school waiting to turn 17 so I could start driving lessons and being insainly jelous of all my friends who had birthdays before mine!!

I wonder if Kate Middleton is on this thread somewhere? I read she is due on 23rd April!

Bez9087 · 09/04/2018 21:25

Thankyou @harryharry. I don’t dress them the same that often mainly because it’s a lot of hassle and what ever I grab first that’s clean and dry lol! But then sometimes I love how cute they look matching. Until Imogen threw up all over hers so is in a different one now lol.

Fieau · 09/04/2018 23:13

Convinced my OH to have sex this evening (he has been very reluctant as he thinks he'll damage the baby Hmm). Hoping it gets something going as I am getting so impatient now! Not actually due for another 11 days Blush

DaisyLand · 10/04/2018 01:30

Hi all! Sorry my absence but it’s all cuz little me was born on the 4th after being induced cuz of recurrent reduced movements
I told dh yesterday well he def moves in the outside world!

Getting to know each other, he’s as stubborn as me so got the worse of me and the baby blues.

Hope everyone is doing well and have more baby news in the next days. Good luck to those with contractions!

Congratulations DaisyLand! Hope you're both doing well x

LeighaJ · 10/04/2018 06:24

Congratulations Daisy. Flowers

LeighaJ · 10/04/2018 06:43

I'm due with our first baby, a girl, 14 days from today. Although I've had 3 dreams I would have her 9 days early, not sure why that specific date as there's nothing special about it. Not relying on my dreams though to predict her due date. 😅

Bez9087 · 10/04/2018 07:18

Congratulations @daisy so glad he’s here safe and sound. The baby blues are completely normal especially as your milk comes in your hormones are everywhere.

MadRainbow · 10/04/2018 07:59

@Daisy Congratulations! Obviously something about the 4th has our babies giving us grief one way or another, lots of hugs for you with the blues though, get DH to buy you plenty of cake

@Harry that's wonderful news about Lyra, bet you can't wait to settle in :)

For us we have Sirenne's MRI today and unless there's something glaringly obviously wrong they want to transfer us back home today! She will have to stay in our local hospital until they've decided we've got feeding sorted, at least I assume that'll be the priority then as her gases are coming back perfect since we were allowed to dress her. So now it's just a waiting game until the transfer team and a bed back home are available :)

Teeeee · 10/04/2018 10:18

Congratulations @DaisyLand and oh my @Bez9087 and @AnnaMadden those are some utterly gorgeous babies!!! I seem to know only people having boys (inc me) so I think there'll be some stiff competing for those beautiful girls attentions!! @Bez9087 now all I want is runny egg!!!!! 2 weeks to go.. cant wait to have runny eggs... and a g&t!!

HarryHarry · 10/04/2018 10:30

MadRainbow - I think you mean Strongarms27, not me. I'm still waiting (40+1 today) Sad . Off to the doctors in a few hours to see what she can do to hurry this baby up.

MadRainbow · 10/04/2018 10:36

Oh sorry @Harry baby brain kicked in while expressing clearly. Hoping for your sake you little one gets a shift on soon

Bez9087 · 10/04/2018 10:43

Good luck @madrainbow for Sirenne's mri today fingers crossed you get back local ASAP.
@teee your allowed runny egg now aren’t you? I had it all way through the twinnies pregnancy as they released new info that as long as lion stamped the risk was minimal. I ate it all the way through Blush it is down to everyone’s personal choice though.
When pregnant with dd 2009 I wasn’t allowed peanuts, then when pregnant with first ds 2011 I was allowed them in moderation and as long as I didn’t crave them and then with second ds in 2014 there wasn’t any restriction Confused it changes so much the rules etc and I get being cautious etc. But the same with the eggs it was a big no no with dd and even ds but now it’s allowed. I’m sure you are.

AnnaMadden · 10/04/2018 11:29

@Bez...the girls are adorable! And so cute with their matching outfits! 😍

@Daisy congratulations! Hope the baby blues settle down for you soon 💖

@MadRainbow excellent news...hope you get a bed nr home really soon!

Rae2017 · 10/04/2018 12:42

All these babies - they are so beautiful.

Congrats @daisyland on your new arrival.

Thanks @strongarms I'll try the arnica. Ah didn't realise he could take his phone in to theatre, that'll be good to get lots of photos.

Thanks for the advice on sickness @bez. They spoke about that at pre op as well but good to know they can fix it instantly.

@madrainbow hope everything goes well with MRI and you don't have to wait top long for a bed.

I'm on final countdown now. Weird to think I could be a mum this time tomorrow!!!
